If I did install the custom PSP firmware, would updating my Vita's firmware at a later date render the homebrew inert/unusable?
Well this is interesting. All the PSP games I downloaded from PSN actually appear in the Games list when I trigger the exploit with Ben 10 and start my PSP environment. So I can launch the exploit trigger game Ben 10 from inside the exploited environment which is triggered by the exploited PSP game. This actually triggers the exploit again and restarts the custom firmware.
We have to go deeper.
This is nifty. Nice to have Phantasy Star Portable 2 playable with remapping the dpad to the right stick!
so this means i'm off PSN once the next required update rolls around, right?
Yep, unless they get a proxy working for a short amount of time like they did for the UNO exploit.
the dude should probably stop being an asshole and develop real software for the vita.
hacking handhelds doesnt make any sense these days, and he knows that. All it'll do is make developers NOT make more games for the platform. Look at the PSP for christ-sakes.
I take everything I said about my hacked isn't going to get playtime. VitaFTP makes moving things a breeze and dat OLEDVitaFTP makes the process just about the exact same thing as a hacked PSP, only it works over the internet.

Did I miss this if I'm on 3.0?

The firmwares are what get patched, not the games themselves right? Thus they usually get readded after the fixed FW is out, right?I just got my Vita today. Guess I missed the train on this one. :/ Ah well. Here's to hoping for other exploits in the future.

If so, then I imagine someone should be able to keep their Vita on 3.01 and wait for the games to be readded to the store after a new FW is released. When that happens, using this would allow them to get the game while staying on the exploitable FW, wouldn't it? http://wololo.net/2013/12/14/new-way-to-download-games-to-your-older-fw-ps-vita-no-proxy-required/
Not sure how it works, but I imagine you'll need to update your firmware to have access to the PSN Store. Didn't quite understand how the guide in your link works since it's for content that's already in your download que. Is it possible to buy content through, say a PS3, and then use the "trick" to transfer the game to a PSVita with an older FW?
Someone has attempted to create Dual-FW Boot for the Vita, albeit through hardware modifications: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CE61ZAHR3Go
If this becomes possible through software alone, then downgrades might be possible.
*starts panting and fanning self profusely*
I'd also like a video-out mod plz so people can stream Vita games.
A hardware mod exists already. It costs $400 USD for a Vita with a video out mod on it.
oh sweet! Anyone streaming Vita games yet?
PSNstores does

Jeez, what costs $400 to make this mod? I would totally mod my Vita for TV out if it were cheaper.
At this point the best option for TV out on the Vita would be the Vita TV, if you know Sony would ever release the damn thing outside Japan.
wow, it's been so quiet I even forgot about that thing.
I think i'll wait a bit for news on VTV before dropping the money.
This is going to be a long bumpy year for Vita.

this article makes it sound a little crappy:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-ps-vita-video-output-mod-review
but if other people are using it to stream on twitch with no problem, then it's worth the price to me.
Not sure but a few things seem to add to it. You have to send it to Japan and they send it back EMS or something. The job also looks about perfect, just a little usb port (not a TV out actually) added on the bottom and no other signs of modification. They have their own software too, it looks like.
PS Plus is really the most convenient way to do that. Just back it all up to the cloud automatically. And the service is worth paying $50 a year for many times over.Wonder how soon it'll be until they find a way to break the freaking save lock on games to where they aren't tied to the "bubble"/game, app itself and I'm able to back up my saves without having to back up three fucking gigs of a game as well. >:|
Of course it is :/This one is apparently only available in the North American store, though.
http://wololo.net/2014/01/30/release-tn-savestate-plugin/The PSP/PS Vita is intended for short gaming sessions and this is possible! WITH THIS PLUGIN! Now you can fastly switch from game to game, WITH THIS PLUGIN!
It is definitely an ultimate addon to the Custom Emulator Firmware 6.60 TN-V. Also, it is compatible in XMB, PSP GAMES, PS1 GAMES, HOMEBREWS
Does Gravity Crash still work in any way?
I remember I bought that to do an exploit a ways back...
Will Fifa 12 UK work?
