Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

I think UberTag wanted to make one, but if not I think you're more than welcome to make one yourself.

I don't want to make it actually, I'm too lazy :P

But I have a bunch of impressions written up, ready to go! So I want someone else to make the thread...

I think tamaster was mentioning something about making a review thread. Would probably be a good idea, although I feel like impressions could go in here. I mean, if you're talking about games on Vita PSN, that should include impressions, and every Vita game is on PSN, so...

cuz I have a vita?

There are quite a few games for vita that I'm interested in getting, but performance issues keepings me from investing at full price.

I'm not saying you don't have a Vita, but I can't help but feel like the lack of positive info you receive is your own fault, since you only seem to participate and post in the stuff that isn't really positive. So maybe you're only really hearing what you want to hear. Why haven't you posted/commented on the native-res 60fps PS All-Stars BR?

Somebody needs to bite the bullet and do it then. I'd do it, but then it would be shit.

Takao makes pretty good OT's. He should do it.

I was playing Persona 4 on my Vita in my dream last night. It was around Christmas time though. I was really enjoying the game but then the whole room started shaking and I looked outside and saw this giant asteroid filling the sky coming down. I said "crap in a hat" and thats when I woke up.

You all are going to love Persona 4 Golden.

2012 end of the world confirmed. That why there's no Vita games next year.

This and this. Also, image quality (not expecting native res, but hoping that the IQ is better than Uncharted GA).

IQ similar to Uncharted, sadly (from what I could see. Might have been a bit better and crisper). Gameplay and controls were very solid and responsive. Didn't have a lot of time, but it plays and feels like the console version (unlike Uncharted with felt like constrained and gimmicky at times), except some features using touch screen (e.g. for in-game map: Controlled like Google Maps i.e. Zoom in and out , and move with swipe).

Did you play through any town segments? How many NPCs were walking about?

Ehhh I'll live with that. Didn't bother me TOO much in Uncharted; just would have been nice to have a little better IQ. Oh well. Glad to hear gameplay and controls were good.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of NPCs in the location where I was (in both Vita and console version). Was stuck in swamp for a while before I restarted the game and was in a village area with quite a few NPCs.

And no, IQ was not as bothering as Uncharted's. It was very nice, though you can tell it lack a little bit of aliasing.

So essentially what you are saying is get Lego Lord of The Rings Vita instead? That's what i'm getting from that anyways. *shrugs*

buy lego lord of the rings

...always kills me when people say shit like this, as if Golden Abyss didn't set the bar for graphics and production values in handheld gaming ridiculously high. Man, I'd kill for a library full of Vita games that are on par with Golden Abyss; but, then again, I don't walk around with my nose pointed upwards, either.

"Hey, that game you made there that fits in my pocket; yeah, the one that looks about 10 times better than any handheld game the world has ever seen. Um, could you maybe do something about those jaggies? Oh, don't mind me--I'll just wait here patiently and play my $40 2D Mario game with its character models that are so blocky they look like Lego's."

*JEESH*

DISCLAIMER: I love both of the Mario games on the 3DS, so this is not a fanboy rant.

He's talking specifically about image quality. In virtually every other area, Uncharted GA is unmatched.

Vitabro, I have a full order in for 10/30/12:

- AC: Liberation
- LEGO Lord of the Rings
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted
- Ragnarok Odyssey

Damn, Gods Eater Burst is fucking hard. Not as bad as MHFU but still really hard. Can I do adhoc online with GEB? I might play with some VitaGaffers if I can.

Interesting, thanks for the impressions. Can't wait. :)

Do you know when the review embargo is?

Hey guys, glad to see this thread didn't get locked.

So I came up with a plan for a vita reviews and recommendations thread which ill post here for feedback soon but since I've never made a thread like this before I wondered if there was any official procedure or anything?

Cheers bros

We're talking about Assasins Creed 3: Revelations? I played the same demo as Shagg. I must say I was impressed for the most part. If you are expecting a console version of AC on your Vita, that is exactly what you'll get. Gameplay is very similar to AC3, you can clim trees for example. The only thing I was really disappointed with was that it was sub-native resolution. I'm one of the big critics of this problem that a lot of developers seem to be having on the Vita. The sound quality seemed a bit off, buit it might have been because of the headphones I was using. I'm not sure. In conclusion from my impressions, I'm buying it. Played very close to the console version of AC3, which was very fun. It's kind of like a mini-version of AC3 really, and with a female lead character.
