Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

The amount of complaining in that other thread is hilarious. if you don't want it, don't buy it.

I think the complaining is not so much about the game itself, but mostly about people expecting something of a system seller for PSV, something that shows Sony cares about the system.

And this here just isn't that.

Not every game needs to be a "system seller". Sometimes a collection of good games is as much of a system seller as one big name game, anyway.

Anything worthwhile that I can pick up on PSN with my remaining $10?

I already have Mutant Blobs Attack and a whole host of other downloadable games (All Persona's, etc). So I just wanted to see if there wasn't anything that I was somehow missing.

It was nice waking up this morning to see that you can use the browser in-game now.

Oh! That's pretty damn great!

Ouch... the like to dislike ratio :\ I saw the name and I was like :OOO A NEW UNCHARTED?! HOW?! But then I saw that it's a card game spinoff.... hmmm, idk. It could be fun, I'm a sucker for card games (Pokemon TCG took many hours/years of my life away), although I'm not sure if I'm on board with this one, purely because it's Uncharted stuff vs. monsters or w/e. I dunno, stupid logic I know.

Anyway ~ It's a new Uncharted game that is probably going to be fun. Plus 2.0 hits tomorrow, with Plus and all the other junk! SO REJOICE MY VITABROS!

I have a feeling we'll see some Vita discounts this week with the PS+ launch. I've been really wanting to grab all of the DLC for Gravity Rush so hopefully it gets a small price drop.

I need me some of those Kat costumes. :|

The thing that excites me the most, its not a "F2P" card game that requires you to buy booster packs. Just unlock stuff from fights. <3 I love my Magic Card collection and all similar card games, but I really wouldnt mind more "pay once for everything" card games.

I try to keep up with this thread and have been through the last 5-6 pages to make sure I didn't miss anything

does anyone know how big JSR will be tomorrow - will need to clear some space on my 32G stick for it..

I'd wager it will be well under 1GB.

PS3 version is 1103MB, so its not going to be more than that at least.

UNCHARTED IS RUINED FOREVER!

Velocity? SunFlowers? When Vikings Attack? A PSMobile game or two?

Yeah they do that on PS3 so hopefully they'll do the same on Vita.

After R:R selling more than SF:LS and SF:DM,For SCE and Yoshida Syphon Filter is a completely dead IP,I think Sony will never green light a new SF project again,it's really better just to forget about it and let it go.

I guess the next game from Bend for Vita will be another UC spin off or maybe even The Last of Us spin off.

I still think a Syphon Filter reboot or spiritual sequel is still possible. ditch the syphon filter name, made it a new ip, new character, but same action stealth gameplay and loosely connected with story with logan's shadow. both Syphon Filter psp games reviewed really well. and Sony among other dev is more tolerant on taking chances with a series which reviewed well even if the sales are not too stellar.

Logan's Shadow ending is such a perfect setup for a reboot imo.

Velocity? SunFlowers? When Vikings Attacl? A PSMobile game or two?

Or any of the PSP games, like P3P or P1 on sale atm. Or What did I do to deserve this my Lord for 6$.

Or one of these:

Field Commander (Turn Based Tactics) - 9,99$
Patchwork Heroes (??? Quirky) - 9,99$
Phantom Brave : The Hermuda Triangle (SRPG) - 9,99$

... which I have no clue how they play. Phantom Brave cant be too bad though, and Patchwork Heroes looks like silly fun.

And this here just isn't that.

I still don't quite know what game people expect outside of GT Vita or MonHun.

COD has got some of the shittest reviews of any Vita game but will probably sell more copies than 90% of existing software, Uncharted was excellent but it's not a system seller, Wipeout was excellent but it's not a system seller.

If we assume that MonHun isn't coming any time soon (because Sony WOULD have announced it by now), and that if GT Vita ever happens it'll be on Polyphonys timetable which means any time in the next 50 years, whatever game becomes the "system seller" on the Vita is probably going to be a new IP.

For better or worse, Sony don't have a Master Chief or a Mario outside of GT. All of them DO move systems and a shit ton of software to boot. But you can;t do shit else with the GT franchise like they do with Mario (Paper, Galaxy etc etc) or like Microsoft could do with Master Chief.

Ugh. I saw in my email this morning that I bought something from PSN. At first I got scared thinking I had been hacked but I was positive I didn't have my CC info on the account (guess not)

Then I remembered one of my kid's friends was playing with my Vita. The little fucker bought a Southpark episode called "Cartman Gets Anal Probed." First things tonight I am removing my CC info and no one is allowed to touch the vita from now on

We should all give the Uncharted Card game the benefit of the doubt until it's actually released. I remember a few years back when I was convinced that a card based Metal Gear game was the dumbest idea for a game ever, and I ended up loving Ac!d.

Haha, probably laughing way too much at this.

What the fuck! Well I'm glad he didn't buy a shit ton of other things.

dont understand the card game hate, the game is coming roughly 10 months apart from U:GA. Did they expect a sequel so soon? If you dont like it dont buy it.

This game does not guarantee that they arent working on another one (true Uncharted sequel) non stop... /rant

quota for the day

1 and a half now in a single day. Meh.

Especially since its a shared project with another dev. This is easily just a sideproject to help alleviate some dev costs, which still looks perfectly fine to me.

You can set it so you have to enter your password at checkout.

Agreed.

It doesn't look like it's even being made by Bend. One Loop Games seem to be making it, with Bend helping out.

I think it's not hate on this game but just people think that Bend studio deserve better treatment from Sony and need to be working/focus on better project(even when the card game not fully developed by Bend).

No hate from me, I just never got card games.

Yeah people are taking the 5 dollar PSN title way to literally.
Seriously Bend is helping out and still has something in store.

Besides Card games on consoles are just about always awesome.

I've had somewhat of a look around and haven't seen anything...so maybe i missed it

but are there any cross-controller games out yet?

Trying out the Wii-U has gotten me pretty thirsty for this tech...
I actually answered this question in a post last week so here's the answer to your question.
You'll be happy to know that several of the games that support this tech are better than anything on the WiiU as of right now.
Based on this WikiPedia page, the noteworthy titles supporting Remote Play is currently...

- Bejeweled 2
- Bionic Commando Rearmed
- God of War
- God of War II
- Gundemonium Recollection
- High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition
- ICO
- Peggle
- PixelJunk Eden
- PixelJunk Monsters
- PixelJunk Shooter
- Retro/Grade
- Shadow of the Colossus
- Tokyo Jungle (coming soon; still waiting on SCEA to deliver that patch)
- Zuma

uncharted card game in the vein of magic the gathering is sure such a weird combination. I played a few card game before and other than the strategies and satisfaction of pulling off a strategy from a customized deck, my enjoyment largely comes from enjoying the fantasy artwork, various monster/artifact/magic ability design and description the game world has. Uncharted on the other hand seems pretty bland in that category since even though it has some magic and supernatural element to it, it's mostly pretty grounded in reality.

you know what card game would fit Uncharted better? make a poker game where various uncharted character just play poker and chat in a table, make a twist to the formula like each character have different ability to cheat or something, give it good presentation and animation of character reaction, bluff, etc, give it some nice and funny dialog and I'd buy that. who wouldn't want to play a poker game with Drake, Eddy, Sully, and Chloe and they just talk with each other when playing it, talk about their past adventure. :)

Those games arent fit for proper MP though since they are based on the chatter and interactions (see the Telltale Poker). Still could be nice, but I actually prefer what I am seeing here (especially since Poker wouldnt allow an UC collectibles tie in, which is an idea I really like).

I'd take a nice MP Poker game for my Vita though.

Seriously, why isnt there a Poker game yet? I remember some poker games being one of the first games on iOS. Didnt even the DS had a poker game pretty soon? I guess the 3DS doesnt have one atm, so theres that.

Thanks, but Cross-controller is what interests me. It's different than remote play...

Yeah, I dont think anything interesting has been done with that yet. Is there a demonstration video on the LBP addon that someone mentioned anywhere?

Yeah makes sense. See the issue is that the last Mario I played was Mario 64 :p
So to get myself hyped for Wii U, I bought a Wii with SMG 1&2. I might actually go the 3DS route, instead of the Wii U route ... surely they will patch in NNID to 3DS?
It's Nintendo and online. Don't take anything that makes sense for granted.

Clearly if the last Mario game you played was Mario 64, you have LOTS to seek out BEFORE NSMBU. In addition to the SMG games, you should seek out the following...

- Paper Mario (Wii Virtual Console) {2001}
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Game Boy Advance) {2003} (you may be out of luck on this one if you don't own a DS Lite; everything else is good to go so long as you own a 3DS or a Wii)
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Game Cube) {2004}
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (DS) {2005}
- Yoshi's Island DS (DS) {2006}
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS) {2009}
- Super Mario 3D Land (3DS) {2011}
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS) {2012}

After that, pick up one of the original NSMB games for the DS or Wii cheap (skip on NSMB2) and see whether you like them.
If you want more of that, consider a Wii U purchase. By then, you'll probably have more on Wii U to catch your interest.

Posting it here, because I havent seen it yet and others might not have either:
Cross Controller Play LBP - Vita on PS3
Sorry about the confusion earlier... didn't realize the question related to multi-screen co-op gameplay.
That video's actually really cool. Looking forward to seeing how the tech is implemented elsewhere.
