Do you mostly buy games digitally?if so this card could prove to be small, uncharted itself is near 4GB.

I'd say no, but you think it's worth the extra money for a 32GB?

I don't really want to have to deal with it in the future. Especially if PSN+ gives out more great, free games.

I remember seeing a place where I could check boxes next to game names so that their saves would automatically sync to the cloud. I can't find that now. Anyone know where this is?

It's in content manager, in the same place you upload saves to the cloud. Click the little "i" bubble at the right hand side.

However, it seems to be glitched at the moment.q

Seriously go with 32gb, it'll save you a headache in the future, I went with 16gb and am now having to upgrade to 32gb.

I just have a 4GB card as i buy most of the games at retail so no,look around for some deals if you can find 'em or else prepare to go through the 'backup'.

Yeah if you scroll up or down much, they all get deselected, and once you've uploaded and gone back in, they're all deselected again. Just have to do it manually until a fix I guess!

Because Vita probably isn't anywhere near powerful enough to emulate a PS2.

Sony pulled the same bullshit with "The PS3 can't do backwards compatibility because we removed the <legacy part> to save costs".

A couple years down the road? "Hey, buy these PS2 classics!"

But I thought you didn't like Labrys. :P (Thanks!)

The DLC isn't mind blowing, but they're silly side stories of Kat usually doing stuff in Hekseville at different points in the game and giving her an excuse to dress up. I liked them cause they kinda follow the idea for the Gravity Days comic, which is basically Kat doing regular stuff around town as well as helping people out.

Well, your avatar is the first time I've seen her with her visor down, and I think that's something of an improvement at least. I'd rather she was full on sci-fi or full-on imitation human, rather than straddling awkwardly between the two. Besides that... Well, Soejima's art, Persona, Christmas... Even the aspects of Persona that I don't care for are still Persona. I guess I probably exaggerate my opinions and 'shoot from the hip' when talking on the Internet, because it makes for more interesting conversation. :P

Anywho, I'll probably buy the Spy DLC and go from there. If I like it, I'll get the others, if not, at least I get a neat costume out of it. :P

EDIT: As an aside, that comic is really impressive.

Surprised about modnation.

It's dead cheap and really not completely awful, so not surprised. I paid £11.99 and was happy with it for that, so £4.79 is a bargain

I was going to say, at a fiver people will take a punt. Shame they never sorted the framerate out or got online done like they claimed they were looking at.

Nope, still Ad-Hoc only. I wouldn't expect it to happen, Bend never got around to getting online into Uncharted.

Bend never said they were looking at it to be fair, the Modnation team did. however they also explained why it was omitted, a tiny tiny tiny amount of people used online in the last one.

Hey guys!

I didn't know where to post this, but I plan on buying a Vita on Black Friday.

I just bought a 16GB memory card in anticipation.

Is this enough? I plan on signing up for PSN+ for the free games.

You'll be happy with 16Gb for a while. You might have to juggle a bit if you put some music or video on there or if you need to put all your games on it. But if you can get your money back then just plump for the 32gb and join us.

This can't be the case, can it? Based on what I've seen the Vita should have plenty of horsepower, no?

No, the Vita cannot emulate the PS2. It's less powerful than the PS3 and the PS3 can;t do it on like 98% of the library at this time.

The ONLY way you'll get PS2 games on the Vita is if they are remastered like MGS HD were, or if you play on Gaikai when Sony launch it, probably with the PS4.

PS2 emulation on the Vita isn't a pipe dream, it's an impossibility.

Sony pulled the same bullshit with "The PS3 can't do backwards compatibility because we removed the <legacy part> to save costs".

Yeah, look at that massive library of classic PS2 games you can play 5 years after the PS3 launched. It's tiny. The Vita isn't close to having the power to do it without remastering or Gaikai.

They do saved costs when they removed the EE+GS chips, also they needed to work on the emulator.

and the emulated PS2 games are not ideal and only few games are available, the EE+GS BC PS3s run the PS2 games way better.

Thing is PS3's Cell/RSX was powerful enough to handle PS2 emulated games, Vita on the other hand..well I doubt it will get them ever (unless there is some sort of crazy magic involved)

if you get a 32gb you are going to run out of space eventually, too (well if you buy digitally i guess + PS+)

so it just depends on how many games you want on your vita at once, so thats up to you. i think 8gb is a lil too small for me, since i bougt two games digitally that are like 3 GB each, but if you mainly have psp/psx or smaller vita games, or buy physically its good tho. i think 16gb is the sweet spot, and eventually get 64gb a couple years down the road. 8gb you can live with if you are cheap like me.

4gb not even worth mentioning

Hey Zew!

Probably depends on how much digital content space you need. Lots of guys in this thread have a 32gb and it's nearing full (myself included).

For reference:
JSR: 1107mb
WipEout 2048 (w/ HD/Fury): 2374mb
Gravity Rush: 1460mb
FF Tactics PSP: 195mb

So assuming you use your old PSN ID (and assuming you're the Zew I know), you're looking at ~5gb for those + Uncharted and Mutant Blobs Attack (I've beaten both 100% and removed them from my card so I'm unable to tell you the sizes).

The good news is your 16gb will cover you.
But if you decide you want more games digitally instead of on cards, they add up quick. Most PSOne games run in the 800mb range, more if they're multi disc.
PSP games and PSN games vary. Sine Mora (Vita) is 667mb, Soundshapes was about 990mb, Super Stardust Delta is only 216mb though.

Also remember that the bigger the card, the bigger the gap is between actual usable space and the advertised number. A 32gb card only has 29gb of storage. A 16 is probably 15 or 14.

So yeah, you're good for now with a 16 unless you just want to play it safe and pony up the extra cash now... I don't think memory prices are dropping any time soon though, so your call. :)

Alright, you guys made me go ahead and cancel the order. I'll wait to find a 32GB deal. Thanks.

I hope you have -something- in the meantime since the majority of software on the Vita doesn't even function without a memory card. Are you getting a bundle that comes with one?

I believe Sony has fucked up.

There were 2 versions of PS All-Stars, one for regular price and the other one for free, both saying Full Game. Grabbed the free one, of course. I'll report back to confirm if it's the full game when it's finished downloading. File size is 1622 MB.

I checked again 2 minutes later and it's gone. Got a screencap though.

So I haven't paid much attention to the Vita, but with the release of Persona 4 Golden I am having this weird itch to buy one. The dealbreaker (or dealmaker) for me would be if a decent number of PS2 games were available on PSN. I just did a quick search and it looks like they aren't planning to bring PS2 games to the Vita - is this still the case?

I'm sure this has been covered to death, but why wouldn't they release PS2 games on the service? If they made a commitment to doing so, I'd probably look to pick one up. I haven't owned a PS2 in years, and missed out on a lot of great games for the console. I don't want to have another console in the living room and having those games available on a portable (and on the hard drive) would be awesome.

Vita is near 1 year old and there are more PS1 compatible games with PSP than with Vita. They are still working out the kinks and getting that to be 100% compatible with what's available. The PSP emulation is not 100% either, there are games available on the psn store that are not playable on vita, and even more so officially supported.

I'm sure if they can get PS2 games playable on vita, they will after they get PS1 and PSP emulation 100% done, they know that's a major feature that literally everyone would want. They just started rolling them out earlier in the year for the PS3 so, if it's feasible to have those ISOs playable on vita, they will get there. Vita got hacked (I think), so maybe those folks can play PS2 ISOs there? Not sure, but people were playing PS1 ISOs on PSP long before Sony supported it.

I would honestly be more interested in HD classics and dreamcast HD games (like JSR) playable on it (but being cross buy), but short of that, remote play should be a priority, I have seen videos where vita was playing RDR, Battlefield 3, etc off hacked PS3s. The consensus was that SOTC and GOW collections were pretty playable with minimal lag and latency, so why not have more games supported there? Maybe they don't have the bandwidth to do that for more games right now.

i wonder what is the production cost of those memory cards..because im pretty sure you can buy a 128GB Transcend micro SDXC for the price of a vita 32gb bs card.

Yeah, it's me. :3

Yeah, I found a good deal for a 16GB, but I love to consume digital goods, so I really wanted a 32GB. I cancelled the 16, so I'll just hold out for now.
I hope you have -something- in the meantime since the majority of software on the Vita doesn't even function without a memory card. Are you getting a bundle that comes with one?
Yeah, I'm buying the AC Vita bundle. I'll have to deal with a 4GB.

until then..just buy P4G.

Already shipped from Amazon. :3

I really want more DLCs for Gravity Rush.

Team floating loli should not wasting more time on that Project Discovery thingy.

Don't do it. Declassified is far from being anything like MW1 on Vita.

I LOVE, like, really, really LOVE Assassins Creed 3 Liberation and NeedForSpeed Most Wanted (Vita) -

I haven't touched either, since COD BLOPS: Declassified's release last Tuesday. I haven't even played any PSABR, which I bought yesterday - still keep coming back to....CODBLOP:D.

And I HATE COD (generally, except the MW1/BLOPs1 campaigns)

Ok, first it greeted me by saying it's missing the online pass. Now it's telling me it's a demo and stuck on a loading screen

Demo maybe?

EDIT: heh

Note: The e-mail app will delete messages from your inbox if you don't already know. Didn't think it did and wanted to clear the apps inbox out and it deleted some of my messages on Gmail as well. So I guess the lesson is to check via app, and delete (if need be) on Gmail itself. Kinda annoying. :/

Any new Vita owners:

In addition to Carl's Mutant Blobs...and ignoring any PS+ selections:

Assassins Creed 3 Liberation is the bees knees. It's really cool to see a solid series, get a solid portable incarnation. Which leads me to.....

...Need For Speed Most Wanted. Full Day and Night cycle, open world, autolog, multiplayer, Criterion developed and beautiful visuals (slightly pared down from PS3/360/PC). What you're getting is a direct port of the console version, but in your hands. Best handheld driving game, with a lot of love poured in.

It helps that the game is super fun, too.

Wow, that's an awesome little touch. Love it.

Speaking of awesome, I've been playing Uncharted:GA today (PS+) and it's incredible. The Vita might not deliver large scale spectacle like the PS3 Uncharteds but all GA's photo/bounty/rubbing/etc makes you feel more like Nate than ever before. This will be my first Vita platinum!

I'm sure a decent amount of people would have played it online. The Vita doesn't offer as many competitive games as the six years worth of software on the PS3 does. I surely would have had a fun time online.

Even shit ports? what kind of horrible advice is this.

Toma-chan, I am disappoint

I needed to write something fast, no time for fancy elaborations, lol. And in the end, every purchase is also good for Sony and the Vita :p

Really hope there's a revision sometime in the future that boosts battery life.

I'd be tempted to pick up the battery grip if it were available for us. Oh and I thought you might be looking for people on PSN since you asked about the Vitabro list earlier. My PM asking you whether you still got a spot free remained unanswered :'( Currently questioning whether my Vita sent out those PM's. Cant even see them in my outgoing folder on the browser.

Anyone else reading this, I wouldnt mind a few more people on my friends list. Anyone who sort of gets along with what I am writing who'd like another person on his friends list?

PSN ID is in email tag, quote to reveal.
