'Tis a bad day for any Vita owner to visit gaf :P
This thread is like a little sanctuary.

Good to hear something new about Killzone for Vita. Nice Find BlueMaxima.

Hum there are 2 or more threads that basically say that Vita is doomed here in neogaf. This is crazy XD OK, the console don't sell top much but allready death?!?!?

Ignore them. Don't go anywhere near them. If you post anything positive about the Vita in thous thread you'll get eating alive.

*yawns and shakes head at the first page of gaming*
I see people realized they were ignoring the vita doom and gloom for the wiiu for a bit and had to compensate by flooding GAF.

I'm curious, did the playstation Move have a bunch of doom and gloom threads as well, or was that one ignored because it was playstation move and no one could bother to care about it :P

I think way to many people are forgetting that in general sony doesn't have a killer app, they don't have a mario or a halo, but that doesn't change the fact that they can win people over with their first party it just takes more time. Instead of making a Mario/Halo game and winning people over in one big swoop, they make a bunch of first party games that win people over little by little slowly building up a library that pretty much anyone could find at least 1 first party game they want. I keep reading "sony needs to release a big game for the system" but i mean they already released uncharted and littlebigplanet, and they have killzone later this year. I'm willing to bet they could release Infamous vita in sept, God of war Vita in oct, and GT vita in nov and people would still say they hadn't released any big games for the system :/

Oh well, seems like a good day to just hide out in subs. Hopefully this thread is never closed as it would make it pretty impossible to talk about vita related things on GAF unless the mods actually start banning people for all the doom and gloom talk cluttering up every single vita thread that isn't this one.

You guys have any guesses on what the next PS+ vita game will be?
well it's the psp game leaving so ideally it will be a new psp or ps1 game. I am personally hoping for chrono cross but I would be surprised if that was the game lol.

I am going to guess Mortal Kombat, since I believe it is a plus game in Europe.

given we haven't managed to get batman AC here I have to assume that sony NA and WB don't have nearly as good of a relationship as Sony EU and WB thus I just don't see MK all that likely anymore. I mean it's not impossible but if we are going to get a vita game (not a vita compatible game) I'm thinking little deviants as I don't think it's been on sale recently, if it has been on sale, then I have no guesses, but to be fair PS+ is so random with it's games that I have only correctly guessed the update twice in the last two months lol

Imagine if the next plus game is P4G ;)

I wouldn't be miffed cause I bought me some solid gold, but... my PS+ has gotten me no new games to play ever since the IGC popped up. ._. Why can't they put up PS1 classics again, I loved getting whole PS1 game series for free.

OK so pics from our HSG match last night!

Imagine if the next plus game is P4G ;)

while I fully expect P4G to be a ps+ game at some point given how much atlus is a repeat free game company on PS+, I figure it would be in the running for the E3 update as LBPV and P4G to replace Uncharted and gravity rush seems like a decent swap. At the very least I should note I know you are kidding around because no one in their right mind would expect a third party vita game that is one of the top sellers and has only been out for 2 months to be a free ps+ game :P

I won't be buying a next-gen console this time around so my "console" fix will only be a Vita. If they kill it, then I'm out of the loop for good. That's the only way they will keep me on the console side from now on.

Cash will go into maintaining a gaming PC instead.

I built a PC about six months ago and I play almost exclusively on it now. Vita and iPad for when I want something a little more quick and bite-sized. Having said that, I will definitely buy the new consoles when they release. If this generation has been any indication, building a PC is great for the tail end of a generation when consoles have started to stagnate and show their age. The beginning of a new generation will probably see consoles race back in front of all but the most bleeding edge PCs.

I have a question about the Remote Play functionality. Is it normal that there is a black border around the game even though they are running at 720p on the PS3 where it's fullscreen?

720p videos on the Vita are properly full screen.

I've only ever remote played Tokyo Jungle and had no black border, so it may not be normal.

Just tested Tokyo Jungle and it's proper full screen.

Odd.

Which games are you playing? They may be the old ones that were set for Remote Play on PSP. The only Remote Play for Vita games are Tokyo Jungle, God of War HD Collection, and the Shadow of the Colosus/Ico HD Collection IIRC.

I usually only lurk in this thread, but the first page of gaming has me a little bummed out, and I need some talking down. How many physical games have been announced with confirmed dates pre-E3 for North America? I'm trying to add them up in my head. I know there's Sly 4, NGSP2, Dead or Alive and MLB13. I'm sure I've missed quite a few, right?

Shadow of the Colossus HD. It's only around 5-10% or so on each side, it's still annoying. :-)

Well they've already given away RCR, Jet Set Radio and Chronovolt. What's the next worst game on Vita? There's your answer.

sad but probably true.

Im guessing there wont be anything decent for Vita till around the 3month date from the instant game collection just to get the 3monthers to resub.

Hope im wrong though

Sup, vitabros/gals? I guess I just got my account validated! Just wanted to make my first post on the forums in the Vita thread. I've been lurking here for upwards of a year now. I can't believe it's almost been that long since the Vita came out. Seems like just yesterday that I was on the fence about getting one, then Gravity Rush came out and I bought me a used Vita with GR from GameStop. Best handheld I've ever owned. Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everybody and that you can expect to see much more of me in this thread. Oh and my obligatory games list.

- Ragnarok Odyssey (although i deleted that soon after i bought it)

- Retro City Rampage

- Gravity Rush

- Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour (one of the best vita games i own, I have 96hrs into it and still have yet to get the platinum. Does anybody know a simple method of getting the Royal Straight Flush trophy? I don't play cards so i'm having a hard time with it)

- Persona 4: Golden (although not my first persona title, it's definitely my favorite. 20hrs in and i'm still having fun)

- Persona 3 PSP (hated it so much. Almost put me off of the persona series until you guys convinced me to pick up P4G)

- Unit 13 (rented it in the summer, then ended up buying it during the christmas sale, worth every penny)

- The 3rd Birthday (excellent PSP game that really benefits from the dual analog sticks of the Vita. I think I'm almost done with it, but the vita crashed when I was going through a dungeon or whatever and I haven't been back since)

- Sonic Racing Transformed (bought this alongside the PS3 version, I've only played about 2 matches on the PS3 version, while I have 6hrs into the Vita version, nuff said.)

- Dokuro (picked it up day 1, absolutely amazing. Love the folk music, the chalk art style, and the hard puzzles. BUY IT!)

- PlayStation All-Stars (amazing game, been taking a break though. I'll probably start practicing again in february to prepare for the kat dlc)

- Wipeout 2048 (hated hated hated wipeout HD, but 2048 on the Vita is just sooooo much fun! It was actually one of my first vita games)

- Rayman Origins (ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! We need more sidescrollers for the Vita)

- Ys Seven (..... admittedly, i haven't touched this that much after the rather confusing opening, need to get into this ><)

- Sound Shapes (What can't I say? Bought it day 1, loved every second of it...except those death mode levels, they made me quit playing. Otherwise, it's an excellent game, the music is superb, and the level creation aspect is top notch.)

- Knytt Underground (I love sidescrollers so I have to love this game. The story is rather interesting, I'm loving Mi's friends and the jokes that they poke throughout the campaign. The gameplay is rather fun. I was kinda turned off by how they don't tell you much but then it started growing on me. The sense of exploration is amazing. Why don't more games play out like this? No hand-holding, or introduction, just you and the open world.)

- Mutant Blobs Attack (think this was my first PSN Vita game, another fun sidescroller. Still need to finish it though, got caught up in the wave of Vita games ><)

- Stranger's Wrath HD (haven't played much of this, it's interesting from what I've seen so far)

- Super Stardust Delta (eh, it's ok i guess. I've enjoyed it more than SSDHD on the PS3 if that says anything.)

- Uncharted: Golden Abyss (....call me when they go through the Uncharted 1 ---> Uncharted 2 transition....)

And that's all the games I have! I'm also a PS+ member so that really helps, can't wait to see what's in store for this month, although as a US member, i'm keeping my hopes rather low.

Bukana updated the Upcoming Vita Games thread just a few days ago. Should have everything we know so far.

Asphalt: Injection it is then!

Went and bought that MGS: HD collection I mentioned earlier. So psyched! Never played MGS3 more than half an hour and it's been over 10 years since I played through MGS2. I have both for PS2, but couldn't really play MGS3 due to the horrible camera.

Theirs actually not many. Right now even on GS they only list these 2 games, and these other 2 Lego games.

- Soul Sacrifice
- Warrior's Lair

If you look in Japan though, they have a ton of good Vita games being released that year.

- One Piece pirate Warriors 2
- Project Versus J
- Tales of hearts R
- Senran Kagura Sinovi Versus
- Phantasy Star Online 2
- Meruru no Atelier Plus
- Dragon's Crown

Man i wish they'd bring some of these over here. Sadly though we probably won't have 90% of these over here.

My touchscreen has been really janky lately. Sometimes it won't register any touch on the top left corner. I'd have to power off and on for it to work again. :/

it's a fun game. i dont really have much interest in the past titles though

SMH. You (and Square admittedly) are part of the problem.

Thanks for killing Square's best female character and series, duder.

I actually just bought it again having prior owned it on PSP.

Basically from what I remember, the criticisms of it were against it's then UMD based loadtimes. Once you ripped it via CFW, it was pretty much non-existant. Same goes now with Vita. Looks absolutely glorious on dat OLED too.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

No, even with a UMD rip on the 1000 it had emulation problems (projectiles being invisible until they were loaded). It had to do with RAM limitations and memory, I dunno if the 2000 or 3000 fixed it, but it cemented SNK/Suckmore as a shitty developer that can't even touch the glorly days of SNK without fucking it up to me.

Vitabros I nave a questione for LBPV players: si there a quick way to make your level being visited by fifty players? I need to gran the last trophy in order to grab the platinum one ^_^

P4P's

ok.....? What's so great about the previous Parasite Eve games?

Great but! I got it earlier this month. And you can control the camera now. :)

The gameplay is fantastic in that game, which is reason enough to play it. If it's a problem supporting fun games, then oh well.

there should be a setting in the game to make the screen size larger or check your tv settings for an overscan setting, the reason behind this is some tv's stretch out the image, commonly in a tube tv so games automatically have it set out like this to compensate the tv stretching

mine does the exact opposite, just keeps touching the left and gets really annoying in VT4 and sometimes on djmax :/

This happens to me all the time, and it's not just the corner that janks out. Rebooting is about all I can do. Thankfully it's only happened to me once WHILE I was in-game. Usually its occurrence is relegated to the menus.
