OH MY GOD. Vandecenter's sliding race.

55 seconds and the best I can do is 1:30.

WHY.jpg I hate the gravity slide. This is damn near impossible.

Reminder that the Alundra Lets Play thread has now started :)

I said the same thing, but people called me crazy. My only complaint other than the annoying touch to first person shit.
It's taking away from my total enjoyment of the game. Really odd response times and overall clunky feeling when trying to move left or right ,etc. The game looks utterly fantastic on the Vita though...

Like I said, learn how to drift and TAKE YOUR TIME in lining up the direction you want to go to. It's much better to lose a second or two to line up correctly than to do it quickly and end up going in the completely wrong direction and then trying to fix the direction after that with quick, exaggerated motions.

Small tip. For sharp turns just stop sliding, change direction, start sliding again. That is all.

Of course make sure you are lvled up first as well.

Finally finished cleaning up the rest of the arcades and therefore 100% on both versions of PSABR. Now I can finally focus on Vita and Assassin's Creed.

I say that though, but I'm not really feeling the game. When I look at it objectively, it's not bad. Maybe I'm just burned out on the series. I know how much I like a game by how often I play it when I get the chance and how much it's on my mind.

For example I really liked Gravity Rush, and despite being quite busy, I finished it and all DLC in less than a week. Didn't play my PS3 once. Uncharted pissed me off at times so I had to give it the occasional brake. About 3-4 weeks and I got distracted easily. VLR on the other hand I never came out of my room for 3 days until I finished it, and the game stands as the best I've played all year.

In Assassin's Creed's case? Got it day one but only played in fits and starts. Still got a ways to go as well. Ah well, I'll just power through and then sell it

Just wait till you max your slide out. Quite easy then since you can just stop and restart the slides on tight corners with time to spare. And if you can get used to drifting, there's plenty of time

Just finished the third festival (three medals in each) in Motorstorm. Only one more, and then it's just the super car stuff. So pumped! I love the feeling I get when I close in on a platinum, especially a double platinum :)

I actually think I'm going to work at the Little Deviants platinum while I wait for Dungeon Hunter to get here. I want something different from what I'm used to, I've been playing a lot of the "core" type games lately, some gimmicky touch stuff will help keep me from getting burned out.

Has anyone else been feeling burned out lately with how many games there are to play on the Vita? :P

Oh my Gods you got a Wii U? Welcome :)

Yup. The black version.
It has its flaws, but I've been enjoying most of the experience.

Which character do you like playing as the most?

So far, Ryu (most variety and dat Cicada Surge).
I haven't had the chance to play around with Kasumi that much, but she's pretty fun so far.

I don't know why you specified the bed. If I was playing NG3 anywhere I'd be yearning to play a better game too.

Good point.
Maybe the gameplay lifted from NG2 is making me long for the real deal.

Or maybe I just can't wait to play NG2 on the crapper
Wii U pad won't work there for some reason :(
.

I really should play my Vita library, but GEB is just so fucking good.

Also, I think I prefer Hatsune Miku to Technika simply for control reasons. I wish I could find a good way to play Tune...

That doesn't work for the joke, you were supposed to say one of the female characters so I could say "Oh, so that's why you enjoy it in bed..."

Thanks for that. ryu is the obvious answer though since he's definitely the most fleshed out

so every time I'm paying a game and the screen goes dark to change scenes, the Vita screen has some weird, errr, pattern in it. anyone else's have that?

Is that the oled burn in or whatever? If it is I think that's normal for those types of screens. At night when I shut the lights off to play before going to bed I see it during black screens as well.

It's a drawback of the OLED tech (although my two Galaxy Nexii do not have it and never did). When I first got my Vita it was pretty bad. Now it has all gone away except one tiny section of the screen. Hopefully, it will all go away soon.

Oh right.
I guess playing through Ninja Gaiden 3's story destroyed my sense of humor.
I laughed way too much for a story that wasn't trying to be funny.

Anyway, back to trimming down my Vita backlog and completing more of NG3.

Zen Pinball 2 is a free game to download but you don't get any tables with it. You get one to two minute demos of every table but to play longer you need to buy some. To unlock trophies and some other stuff I forget about you need to buy the Classics pack with Tesla, V12 and a few others.

32gb card and Sonic Transformed arrived yesterday, NLKS got dispatched but hasn't arrived yet. Not a bad first calendar year (well, nearly) at all, I picked up:

Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation
Chronovolt (PS+)
Everybody's Golf
Gravity Rush (PS+)
Knytt Underground (PS+)
LittleBigPlanet Vita
Lumines
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Mortal Kombat (PS+)
Need For Speed Most Wanted
New Little King's Story
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Playstation All Stars Battle Royale
Rayman Origins
Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed
Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Uncharted Golden Abyss (PS+)
Virtua Tennis 4
Wipeout 2048
Wipeout Pulse (PSP)

Looking forward to next year, hopefully Christmas gave the Vita a sales boost.

Im actually really liking Unit 13. It's simple but it controls nicely. Would have never paid full price for it though (but that isn't saying much :P)

The missions are kind of too shallow for me to get much enjoyment out of them. It's proof that the Vita can handle a competent shooter though and I hope we see more full shooters instead of arcadey titles like this.

I really enjoy it too. I played the first level from the demo probably 15 times. Now that I own the full game, I've probably only completed 6 more missions though. That damn Hot Shots game is so good. It has taken over my Vita lately.

I was happy with the $18 or so I originally paid for my physical copy. At $13, it's a steal and I gladly transferred over to digital.

Speaking of digital, I really hope there's more for Vita in tomorrow's final NA sale than just Sound Shapes which I already own. :\

Now, Vitabros. It's been a GREAT year for Vita. So many great games. What I want to know is, from the mouth of the Vitabro, what are your top five Vita games of the year? It would be cool if you could include a screenshot you took of each, as well.

This is hard for me, so I'm not going to rank them, but my top 5 in no certain order:

Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita

Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed

Rayman Origins

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Bonus:

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

That was actually insanely hard because there's so much more that deserve to be up there. But I think that goes to show how fantastic the lineup was this year.

only vita games I have played so far are
persona 4 golden
disgaea 3
uncharted
jet set radio
and mutant blobs.

I started gravity rush but didn't get to actual gameplay.

If I had to rank the games it would be (i'm to lazy to screen shot)
Persona 4 golden
Disgaea 3
a decent sized space
Mutant blobs
a huge space
uncharted and jet set radio tied for the I didn't find any enjoyment from them at all for the hour I played of them before I deleted them slot.

I will get around to some other games (virtues, retro city, and when i buy them lbp, and RO) eventually but it seems like when ever I want to play the vita my wife is playing Castlevanyia lol

I adore all of the games you selected.

I would add Sound Shapes though ^_-

Need to play some Sonic Transformed with you and the other fellow Vita bros :>

Did anyone get the Metal Gear HD collection? How was it? Do you need to use the l2/r2/l3/r3 buttons in those games?

I bought it, but haven't started yet since I'm trying to finish the challenges in Gravity Rush. But they changed the controls since you have no L/R 2/3 buttons, obviously.

IIRC, it uses back-touch for the L/R2 functions/item menus and the front-touch for CQC.

Sound Shapes is amazing. Like I said, it was really hard to pick a top five and at any time that top five could probably change.

And yeah, we definitely need to play Sonic Racing Transformed soon.

I bought it over the summer and it is totally worth it. L2 and R2 are mapped to the screen so to change your equipped weapon, for example, you touch and hold then drag to the desired option or tap once to un-equip it. To put down the gun during a stickup, you press down on the dpad.

Once you get used to it, it works really well. Loved this collection on the go.

Sweet, that doesn't sound bad then. I was just afraid it had the separate sections on the back for L2/R2 and L3/R3 which I just couldn't do when playing GoW on remote play. I couldn't remember what those buttons did or if it was problematic. Maybe I'll get the collection while it's on sale on PSN after all... Hmm.

Why are you guys listing Sonic Racing Transformed as one of your favorite? I thought it was supposed to be a really bad port.

From my limited time with it, the only bad thing I saw was some slowdown on certain parts of some tracks. There has been a patch for the performance issues and hopefully they'll make some more. It still very playable and enjoyable :)
