Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

also new vitabro don't listen to totoebenu about anything, ever

Wow, thanks for the offer! I'm in Brazil though so shipping alone would cost too much.

That bad though? :(

honestly? i've never even played it. all my games are digital, i don't even think i'd know where to insert the card -_-

my backlog is just too nuts right now.

Avoid playing Ecolibrium, Men's Room Mayhem or Let's Fish unless you want to have a bad time.

At least if you're trying to 100% Men's Room Mayhem.
Did you ever finish the Gold challenges? I was hoping you'd respond to my cries for help.

Yes. Very solid port and the version with the most content out of all of them, even if the character models are something the N64 would be proud of.

(1) Gameplay above all else. The game maintains all content of the console version and 60fps.
(2) The game looks fine in motion, it's only during the close ups that it really is jarring, particularly on people with muscle tone since the textures are ridiculously low quality for that.

Congrats on the purchase! 5 things you need to do:

1. Buy a bigger memory card (16 GB+) to take full advantage of the free games on PS+.
2. Download the PS+ games, especially Gravity Rush and Wipeout 2048.
3. Buy Persona 4 Golden.
4. Try the Soul Sacrifice demo.
5. Contribute to this thread, of course. :D

Now now... a couple edits here:
1. Good advice.
2. Good advice -- but is WipEout 2048 still a freebie?
3. Only if you like JRPG.
4. Demo? No. Just buy Soul Sacrifice. Agent White will tell you, GOTY!
5. Good advice.

A couple other recommendations:
Hotline Miami
Guacamelee
Tales from Space Mutant Blobs Attack
Super Stardust Delta
Unit 13
Lumines
MGS HD Collection
LBP Vita
Flying Hamster HD
Sine Mora
Velocity Ultra (even though I don't own it yet)
Muramasa (even though I don't own it yet)

They pick gameplay over graphics, it was the right decision because of the engine.

Sometimes you must make a sacrifice if the thing don't run well,New Little King's Story was 960x544 (native) with 4xAA, while it look absolutely amazing and super clean the framerate drop to even 10fps and even worse if you have fully developed kingdom, Mortal Kombat went 640x384 with very low poly characters,it's very ugly but they hit 60fps.

is MK Vita worth it at $5? lol

I bought it at launch, and its one of the only games that has never left either of my cards. That may change "if" we are really getting Injustice, but im going to wait for offical confirmation before I bother looking forward to that.

Its an overall awesome transfer to the Vita though(barring poor visuals in some minor areas), easily has the most content of any fighting game on the system with only DOA5+, and BlazBlue coming close. I like both of those also to be honest, but I would probably still go with MK even more so for only $5.

Afraid not! I had the 20 hand wash and the 18 near-misses left, I believe. Probably could do it if I kept trying, but I'm not sure the stress is worth it. Plenty of games left to play that don't make me angry!
The best room is definitely the one with the sinks at top, stalls in middle, urinals at bottom. Flow everybody into the stalls, then to sink, flow more people into the stalls while they walk to the sink. It needs to be a constant flow (heh). If there's an extra person or two too early, you need to just wiggle them around until they can walk in. Otherwise move to the urinal at bottom.

The biggest issue is the awful 'AI' that purposely walks straight into fights at any opportunity, and the luck-based nature of whether or not the first 2-3 people that come in will be speed runners. I only beat 18 by literally the last second.
(actually the biggest issue is speedrunners that aren't in front of the others clogging everything up..)

such a great game. i could go on and on about this one. there's just so many moments where awesome/epic/funny things would happen when we got a gaf crew together. still so much fun to be had.

i wonder if were getting dlc tomorrow.

OK guys, I picked up a nearly new Vita off Craigslist today, with a 4GB memory card, Black Ops and HotShot Golf and a case for 150$. I stopped on my way home and bought a 3 month PS+ card.

This is my first Sony gaming device, ever.

Lay it on me, top 5 first things to do with this baby.

Welcome to the club. Everyone else has suggested all the good games so I won't bother with that. You will want a bigger memory card if you want to take full advantage PS+ unless you are ok with deleting and installing games over and over. Also when you get your + freebies every month jump on the Sony store through a browser and add the PS3 games to your collection too, just in case you decide to get a PS3 in the future.

I agree the poster should get a new card, but I would also suggest waiting atleast till gamescom, just incase they announce larger cards, and /or price drops on the original cards. Till then, if they have plus, and a PS3 just snag the plus content and store it on PS3 if possible.

It would suck to buy a 32gig card for its price only for them to announce a 64, or (hopefully) 128gb card for a similar price.

OMG OMG OMG don't tell me there's a chance of localization for true night of the kamaitachi?!?!?!?!?

Other than senran kagura, tales games, pso2 etc there are many overlooked japanese games that could be interesting:

I would be excited for that dungeon crawler if the character art didn't look like shitty anime. (safe for the dragon squiggly thing).

Is there a good chance they'll put out the top 20 PSN titles tomorrow? I'm interested to see what June's numbers are, and if class of heroes 2 did well or not.

Hopefully it do better than Black Rock Shooter, Gaijinworks are good people and I want more support from them.

Is there a way in game to go back to the main menu in Sigma Plus? Couldn't find anything in the start menu. Seems really dumb if it doesn't exist

Joined the Vitabro ranks today! Got one used with case and 4gb card for $175, very very lightly used. Maybe a little higher than some other deals floating around but I am happy nonetheless. Will pick up a bigger card when the price drop hopefully hits.

I've got Gravity Rush and Pinball Arcade on it now, thinking about Hotline Miami but I'm worried about the difficulty. Really, really excited about Spelunky. Will likely buy physical for most of the games I want, so hopefully the 4gb will be OK for a bit. Hoping that the UMD games I have for the PSP go on sale / free for PS+ so I can finally sell / gift the PSP.

Also, how is Super Stardust HD? I'm most interested in arcade-like bite-sized games, preferably with as little motion / touch gimmickry as possible.

Well, the Vita game isn't Super Stardust HD. It's an all-new game - Super Stardust Delta - and it's very fun. I like it better than SSHD myself.

Ooooh, nice... I assumed it was just a port. I'll definitely have to look into it. Does it force touch / motion into the game?

Edit: Just watched the IGN review and they didn't force it (though it is available) -- sweet!

Nope, there's a traditional mode a'la SSHD, and then a Delta mode that uses the touch and motion stuff. I haven't even tried that part. And then they have some other modes to mix things up. It's a pretty awesome game.

Awesome. I really appreciate that they let the touch / motion stuff be optional.

Hah, I thought I would be fine with 16GB using the same logic and I didn't last long before I shelled out for a 32GB.

With regards to Hotline Miami, I knew nothing about the game besides that it was fun. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but the difficulty is not frustratingly over the top and it feels extremely rewarding to complete each stage.

What'd BRS do? Interested to play it but didn't have the time / money to buy it at launch, and still don't now.

Black Rock Shooter ranked 5th in May PSP sales.

I've played it and I will admit that it is a very mediocre game both plot and gameplay-wise. Depth is severely lacking both, though that appears to be a pattern with Imageepoch games. I did enjoy it, but my I'm quite easy to please.

Honestly, it would've been so much better as an acrobatic hack-and-slash. Would've been far more appropriate for the setting and in-line with that delicious opening video.
