Looked like a nazi salute to me. Also, lol at that CBN video immediately cutting the camera to the crowd after that (which leads to them not catching him doing it again).
 
I don't know about all that but the guy should never be in front of a microphone again. He's the definition of cringe. And not the funny self aware ironic kind.

A gesture. A salute perhaps.

It's close to a Roman one, but for a Nazi one you bring your arm up straight in front of you and don't start from your heart. You can add a click of the heels if you want.

Idiots like you are the ones who complain about swastikas being around even when they aren't in the same direction or orientation as the Nazi one.

And that's not even getting into the debate about whether Nazi appropriation of symbols should render those symbols unacceptable.

Nobody does a "Roman salute", especially knowing what it will for sure be interpreted as, unless that's exactly what they want. It's far, far more likely that he did a Nazi salute but didn't do it all that accurately. He might be on the spectrum, but he's not stupid. He knows what he did.

Innocent until proven guilty.

That it literally was not the same gesture is evidence enough, to be honest.

Hell, there's more circumstantial evidence it was a Roman inspired salute considering he went by 'Kekius Maximus' for a short while.
 
All Nazi salutes are right arm held out straight gestures, but not all right arm held out straight gestures are Nazi salutes.

I'm not exactly leader of the Musk fan club, but even seeing the muted clip the first time it seemed like it lacked context. Seeing the audio intact version makes me think this isn't a Nazi salute.

Unfortunately looking for anything to pull people up for is all too common in today's society, no more so than today.

He moved his hand from his heart and out to people as a gesture of good will to them. His words at the time back that up (you have seen a video in context, right?).

You should not be encouraging behaviour that fails to even try to see the context.

It is very hard to effectively criticise someone and take apart their views with the credible arguments, genuine fact checking and the thorough debate required when such criticism is drown out by stretches, spin and outright falsehoods. It undermines trust in all opposition.

Those who lap up this sort of thing are already onside whilst the open minded are turned off and pushed further away from your position. It can either fail or become extremely divisive.

I am no fan of this guy, but this sort of ridiculous shit is helping nobody but Elon in the long run.
