WaPo Op: Comey’s statement is sufficient evidence for an obstruction of justice case.

Maybe if more people got upset with rampant corruption by government officials instead of just saying "nothing will happen" something would happen.

I believe Republicans will eventually impeach Trump, or rather, convince him to resign. Democrats will have to beat the drums with the same intensity with which Republicans voted to repeal Obamacare (when it didn't matter), and I expect many Democratic candidates to run specifically on being a vote for impeachment, and when Republicans see that President Pelosi could realistically happen, they will act. I don't see Pence being tossed aside, and may be a concession offered to Democrats.

I would say a large portion of us do, but people get hyped on the good old fashion witch hunt that think we're going to hang or burn Trump at the stake. Also, you can't ignore it when CNN plays nothing but "OMFG Trump just did this!!!" 24/7... I mean literally... what the fuck is wrong with them?

Trump does something almost daily ranging from deeply embarrassing at best to "would have gotten Obama immediately impeached" at worst and you expect news networks to stop talking about it because you're bored?

Ironically all this has served to do is make the left mainstream media outlets look hysterical.
Which ones, and in what way?
as far as there not being enough to impeach, doesn't Comey also need to testify in private? Who knows what will go down there... pee pee tapes?
Trump actually stressing that he "had not been involved with hookers in Russia, and had always assumed he was being recorded when in Russia," is, behaviorally, an admission that he did so. The things that Trump said so discomfited Comey that from that point on he put their conversations in memorandum.
I actually wish we would just move on. Same shit different day.
Move on to what? And it's a different Trump scandal every day, not to mention the scandals the media has already neglected (emoluments, charity fraud, I'm sure you can remember others). Unless you support this president, stop worrying about there being enough scandals to sink him. This is his sixth month in office. More will come.

... But Trump keeps doing those things. How is that CNN's fault?

Why do people like you even bother posting? If you're going to be endlessly cynical so that you don't get your hopes up like election night, I suggest ignoring the growing wave of stories about criminal investigations of the Trump orbit.

It'll save you the heartbreak and the rest of us the migraine of having to see the same hecantkeepgettingawaywithit_jessie.gif responses

Why do people like you even bother posting? If you're going to jump to conclusions before the US intelligence community even releases an outline of how things stand so that you can be excited for something no one knows the entire truth about, I suggest ignoring the growing waves of humans who have a different outlook than you, or might be making a simple mean girls reference.

It's a pretty open and shut case. Trump admitted it as such too on Twitter.

'Impeach Trump' has a nice campaign ring to it during the midterms especially in several senate races.

Honestly this is just a pipe dream, Comey's testimony didn't amount to much at all and why all know why...

It's true that they can't do anything with Comey's testimony since there is a lack of concrete evidence of Trump's wrong doings, but remember that the investigation is still going and I think that we just need to be patient before we can completely rule out any real consequences to Trump's administration. IMO it's only a matter of time considering their continuous incompetence.

The President has the Constitutional authority to start and end investigations. For example, the Hillary email investigation.

The Washington Post can push this narrative all they want in an attempt to undermine Trump, but they have no case.

I don't know how much you've been paying attention but the Senate is moving on this.

As slowly as possible. Which is more than the House is moving, which is not at all. And if the House doesn't impeach, there's nothing the Senate can do.

Trump already does a great job undermining himself because he has the mental capacity of a rock.

If your only focus on the myriad of Trump scandals is impeachment and nothing more, then yeah, you likely have some long years and possible disappointment in store.

But it’s still dragging his administration through political hell, his entire team is disorganized, sloppy, off message, and constantly infighting. His approval ratings have been pretty low for such a new presidency. There’s no indication the Russia and obstruction investigations are ending anytime soon. His former national security advisor is in a pretty shitty spot in his own investigation. His attorney general is looking pretty unstable as well.

Ultimately, all this ongoing investigation does matter, even if impeachment is a remote possibility. But constant “nothing’s gonna happen” gloom isn’t really entirely accurate itself.

No.. it's his fifth month in office. We're still about 10 days away from even starting his sixth month. Pretty unbelievable how much has happened in so short of a time.

It turns out Trump got the loyalty he asked for.

Wow are some of you really about to get upset by taking my post the wrong way?

I simply asked a question. I don't know what you mean by getting the loyalty he asked for, though? He clearly didn't because Comey ended up fired. If anything, the pace of the investigation accelerated in the weeks leading up to Comey's firing.

An open setting isn't going to have a ton of stuff at this stage. Mueller I think is more than capable of working through this and connecting the dots - if there are any.

Repeating the mantra “nothing is gonna happen” just reinforces that. Guess what? Trump is paying a lot for all this scandal. His numbers are awful.... like, they-might-lose-the-house awful.

Even if he doesn’t get removed, we must put pressure and explain how bad this man is and how spineless republicans are and replace carry that through 2018. The senate map is still tough
