Warhammer 40k Darktide: New class no one cares about announced

I am honestly not suprised at all that this has not been posted, as a regular player and someone who would describe Darktide as my "main" game, I have been whelmed by indifference over this, so here we are...

The class does sound more interesting than they appear on paper.

But man the only plus is that they cant release this as a class again, so the choices for the next class can only go up.

Comes out some day early December I cant be arsed to remember.

The game is frankly a gem, a goddamn miracle of gameplay and sound.
Fatshark makes the game, waits for everyone to leave and then pushes updates after updates 3 years later.

Do the Fatshark fans prefer Darktide over Vermintide 2? I know Vermintide still gets new content as well.

Personally I prefer Darktide for all its issues. I would argue Vermintide 2 is the more complete game with more content.

However there's just something about that 40k atmosphere that keeps drawing me back to Darktide. If you haven't given it a go pick up a discounted key or it on sale and buy the Arbites class they released prior. Its an excellent additional class with an AI pet dog thats honestly all I play anymore.

Just looks like a Necromunda person to me.

Thats literally it, but just the most generic underhive ganger version of it. Not something cool like a Water Guild.

I know they won't, but I would love for Fatshark to make a single player first person game in any of the Warhammer universe.

Biggest problem with the game for me, is that 1+ year later I STILL can't find the proper settings for the aiming to feel good - it's either WAY too sticky to the point it feels you're teethered to the enemy, or, way too loose/oversensitive to the point of over-aiming all the time...

I need a preset that feels like Halo/COD 'cause it isn't working for me so far

Feels weird to see small caliber auto-pistols in the 40k setting. Usually it's just the pew-pew flashlights or bolters.

There is something, the ganger has a new Toxin health DoT to go along with the prior Burning and Bleed we already have.

The deluxe edition shows us some weapons skins, that middle gun if im not mistaken is a needler.

Which is an intresting Toxic weapon in the 40k universe. But "stub" guns can be just as effective if not more so depending on how they are used. Its just that las weapons have many advantages especially in regards to logistics. You can charge a Las cell at any imperial power source, in a pinch you can throw the cells directly into a fire which returns some of the charge at the expense of permentally damaging the cell and decreasing its life span. Essentially don't discount regular firearms in the 40k universe, they can turn out to be just as effective with a ready supply of ammo.

Also "small Calibur" stubs are essentially 1911's so imagine .45 ACP level rather than 9mm.

As someone who's put 100+ hours into both with friends, Darktide is better (now), for the simple reason that you have more abilities to play with in Darktide. I played as the pyromancer in Vermintide, and my options were generally limited to melee, ranged (ability varying based off chosen weapon), and ultimate. In Darktide, I play as the psyker and on top of melee and ranged I also have a pair of utility spells (of my choosing) that I can also mix up based off the situation. My particular psyker has ranged charged/non-charged bolts for primary DPS, chain lightning for crowd control, and a shield bubble that I can deploy at range to mitigate enemy fire. It's not as panic-inducing as being rushed down by rats in Vermintide, but I feel much more capable and satisfied for/by making tactical decisions.

The game's also just easier to play. The Vermintide gear system is an RNG nightmare but getting better gear and upgrading it in Darktide is a much more pleasant experience. Stage collectibles are also better in Darktide (by which I mean there aren't as many of them and they don't rely on janky platforming like in Vermintide).
