I pushed my way though as much of the full interview as I could, if there's anything misinterpreted by what Kanye's talking about, it's not The Breakfast Club's fault nor is it Sway's.
They gave him an open forum to explain what his problem is and all he could come up with is how the billionaire gatekeepers won't let him do shit; and for that, we're all slaves. Only thing is he's one of the only mother fuckers in the game that doesn't need a gatekeeper to do anything. He's just too much of a pussy to step out there and potentially FAIL at fashion.
i don't get it. he explains why he does need a gatekeeper multiple times in all these interviews. it's not about being scarred of failing at fashion. it's that there is only failure without backing. he is saying it is literally impossible, without a huge finance backing to reach his goal.
If he wants to become a Ralph Lauren, it is impossible, with or without a financial backing so if that's why he's crying, I get it. If he wants to become successful in fashion, there's no amount of bullshit he can speak that would convince me that he needs major backing for that, especially with people in the fashion industry are saying otherwise.
I feel the same way. I like his music and some of things he does and says, and dislike other things he says and does. I think a lot people go overboard in each direction when it comes to him as a person.
I find comments about the dude being incoherent and inarticulate funny as hell. I think it's more likely that your listening and information processing are incoherent; flirting with your selective bias. Don't confuse tactless effusiveness for incoherency. Dude is just a poor communication strategist.

Haven't listened to this interview, only the Lowe one, but starting an independent clothing brand is not impossible - plenty of people already have and do well. A brand doesn't need multi-million dollar marketing to begin to become successful, certainly not when all his previous efforts have sold due mainly to his star power already.
It seems he would like to collaborate with existing brands/designers, rather than start his own business. However apparently that isn't going so well, so he gets frustrated. He clearly wants more fame and success out of the gate with these things, and good for him, but Plan B could be to just start smaller initially and grow based on the merit of the designs.
