I do understand that talentless starlets like Christian Milian feel the need to show off her ass because no one wants to hear her music. But Beyonce is an established and well respected artist that should sell records of the strength of the music alone.

It disturbs my that my 6 year old nice shakes her ass and dances like some stripper (and her mom think it's cute) because she watched too many RnB videos. But I guess that's ok nowadays.

Indeed. Beyonce's video is a bleak meditation on the fundamental absurdity of the human condition in the face of ultimate mortality; an existential tour de force. Ciara's, by contrast, is more of a celebration of the atemporal consciousness that calls into question the very notion of purpose. A question of the question of purpose, if you will.

Shakira's is just some ho shaking her ass.

This is the main reason mainstream music doesn't appeal to me. Its all about making a subpar song and then tacking it onto a softcore porno pretending to be a music video. Beyonce just release a sex tape and retired, you can't sing anyways...

I'm talking about the fact that she sounds like a cow in heat on its way to the butcher. I'm sure if you kill your ear drums with her singing long enough, she will sound passable at best.

First listen to this song back when it was released is one of the big pop moments of the year for me. Still one of the single of 2011 candidates.

Bee is such a hard worker.

Countdown and End of Time are amazing energetic tracks. Party is also good. But I expected better considering Kanye and Andre 3000 are also in i...but it's still good.

Anyone think it's funny how Beyonce flips back and fourth on being a "strong independent woman" and "I love you so much / I'll do anything for my man" every other single? Add to that mix her typically racy videos and suddenly it seems like her Sacha Fierce / Beyonce split personality disorder isn't just some lame marketing ploy but a real mental illness.
 
Why and how do you even listen to that and believe that is what a good voice sounds like? PSSSSSSTTT. I rather listen to a baby cry then hear her moan in another single of hers.

I noticed this a while ago. I like to think it's her showing you don't have to be one or the other, but I like your explanation better. The idea of Beyonce pacing around after a fight with Jay, arguing between her two selves is funny to me.

Eh, Countdown sounds like a bad attempt at a "Upgrade U pt.2" to me, and lyrically it's all over the place.

In my opinion, "Party" is the best track on the album. Love a sexy and laid-back 90's groove. Only kinda bad thing about it is a long and uncharacteristically mediocre rap verse from Andre 3000.

her voice in this song is the equivalent of the sound produced by nails scratching a chalkboard. i also found her voice in that ''life off'' song on watch the throne to be off-putting.
