Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

This game is so dynamic, holy shit at calling the cops on one of the gangs during a gang war.
Just sit back and watch the chaos.

So once I get the drone, is that going to effectively ruin the treasure hunt part of the game? That kind of sucks if so.

it can't pick up money bags if thats what you're saying, i use it to scout out how to get to the points

also it makes the environmental puzzles like 100000% times easier because you don't gotta keep hopping between cameras

The drone can't pick anything up or manually hack anything, it only gives you an extra tool to more easily survey the area without having to schlep around on foot. And it actually opens up a few treasure hunts that can't be completed without it.

Well, I found one where I had to use a forklift to get up on a roof and then send the little car through vents to get at a pickup and I would be bummed if those could be bypassed. Is the drone restricted from picking anything up?

Ok, cool, that's much better.

So only played 2 hours so far and I'm sure I'll like it overall but so far seems way different then the first. Like wasn't dead sec bad in the first game? Also the driving feels weird, coming from mafia 3 I can smash into some many things and not get hurt. Also Marcus is okay he said fuck at least 10 times in the opening scene. Also overwhelming is the first word to pop in, I have no idea where to start now but looking forward to more. Just hope we get a good story that isn't completely light hearted and goofy as well some characters from the first game. I love games with connections makes my experience better knowing it's all intertwined.

Guys...should....should I use my $15 PSN voucher I got for the October PSN promotion to buy WatchDogs? The only thing that is holding me back is that FFXV is coming out at the end of the month and I'm also still dabbling with Titanfall 2 and World of Final Fantasy......

I know multiplayer is disabled right now but is tailing missions not in this? From what I could tell there's only co-op, bounty hunting and hacking.

During/after the Nudle mission
can Horatio get arrested? I noticed he's absent from basically every side quest (Which seems like a quick and cheap fix for "we do not know if this character will be present when the player does this side quest"), and that made me think he was going down during that mission, but he got out fine in my game. Does going in guns blazing change the mission?

It's still a long time till FF. Two long weeks!

Treat yourself.

This mission in the scientology building is about to make me throw my controller through the wall.

Protip: Keep a drone hovering before engaging the enemy, so you can quickly switch to it and abort any calls for reinforcement.

Just use your drones, make proximity bombs, blow up their phones, call gang hits.

Whoa. You're way ahead of me. Maybe I'm struggling so much because I'm drunk but
Im talking about the very first New Dawn mission. Protestors out front I need to hack some stuff. All I have is the jumper.

I just did that mission and it made me realize that I feel utterly lost by the whole thing. Like I have no idea how I'm supposed to be playing. It took me 4 times to get through that mission. I tried once normally. Then I tried guns blazing and my basic pistol didn't get me far. Then I tried really slow with the jumper and that didn't work because the jumper is useless and anything you do to a guard triggers all the other guards. I ended up getting the jumper to the computer and hacking it and the guards were far enough away and didn't interrupt it. Then I just literally walked Marcus to the front door of the building and it was enough to trigger the proximity hack and mission accomplished. I feel so lost as to how to be playing this game.

You can set off proximity bombs with just the jumper.
I just tried to lure and explode as much shit as possible but yeah I guess I had a few more skills at that point :P but seriously, investing in gang hits and police hits is incredibly useful.

Anyway, I think I found the trigger for the Zodiac Killer mission. Actual not major Spoilers ahead:

Edit:Okay this is definitely the trigger

After you acquire the second Dedsec HQ from Lennie you get something about cryptograms and Ray says he'd love to help out, the Zodiac Killer mission description starts with you acquiring Cryptograms from the SFPD, so I'm going to assume that's the trigger.

Honestly I don't even bring Marcus inside the zones unless he has to download something. Drones+Cameras+Gang/Police hits.

Yeah, I just quit for the night but I feel like I have two choices for this mission: send the jumper in to clear things out which is incredibly difficult because there's so many guards and, if they see the jumper, the jumper is dead. I could also go in guns blazing but I die so quick and someone will call reinforcements so no I can't do that. Oh well. I'm drunk so maybe I'll pick it back up tomorrow and it'll all make sense.

When you say 'proximity bombs' do you mean the things on the walls that emit the shock that knocks them out? I've been trying to use all those bit it still leaves too many guards to deal with. Also, I have no idea what 'gang hits/police hits' are. I guess I've got something to look forward to?

Oh well. This is early in the game so it's probably easier than I'm making it out to be. I'll pick back up tomorrow. Really enjoying the game so far, aside from this damn mission.

Yep! You can instant activate them or you can turn them into proximity bombs, what I like to do is make proximity bombs then lure guards over. Also don't forget that you can also use the gaurds phone to either shock, distract or kill them. Its randomized though, so always look out for those opportunities.

Gang hits and police hits are skills under the "social engineering tree" where you can target a person and call either the police or a gang on them. Gangs will engage in all out violence against any other factions whereas police will only use lethal force when provoked, so some are good for some situations where others aren't. Like you can't call the police on the police and if you call the police on a civilian they'll just arrest them, whereas gang members will kill whoever you target and any one else that opposes them.

Is it possible to max every research upgrade? This will determine how carefully I choose my upgrades.

Also the game looks great on the Pro on my 1080p TV.

I'd assume so considering how much you get when you level up in addition to the numerous amount hidden throughout the world.

one of the actions listed on Uplay is maxing out all of the skills...so yeah, I'd say it's possible (and pretty much expected)

This game is pure joy to play! It's hard to describe just how much fun I had playing the past two days.

Literally everything is a step up in comparison to the first one. Sneaking around and solving missions "hacker style" is just so rewarding. (Hell, I've played around 7 hours and am yet to use a gun!)
The ctOS2.0 features are neat as well. Spend nearly one and a half hours just free roaming the map and calling cops on random civilians to see what criminal records would be forged.
I'm a really bad person ^^
Atmosphere and tone are also more in line with what I'd have wanted for the first one.

Is it possible to finish most missions without ever entering the location?

This is what I'm aiming for as well.

Yeah honestly, this game is near perfect.
$80 well spent
And it's even making me want to listen to 80s pop music.
This game really does work miracles.

No. Aiden just didn't want to join them because all the cool vigilantes are outcast loners, and being part of something would have compromised that. I think they also couldn't see eye to eye on that whole hypocrisy issue where Aiden got his niece killed and put the rest of his family in danger and then spent the whole game shifting the blame.

There is a spittoon next to my desk for those occasions when I have to reflexively spit because I've mentioned Aiden and his iconic hat and his stupid fucking layers and his insistence that if there's a murder in progress it's best to let it happen so you can be an even bigger hero for taking down an actual murderer and his power grid tampering that probably heroically murdered people in hospitals and his entire fucking edgelord manchild self.

Fuck you Aiden!

Yeah, I walked past a dude smashing a car because his partner cheated on him. This shit is seriously the best.

I walked past a guy smashing a car up with a baseball because his partner cheated too, So I hacked a car and swerved it into him, it Injured him slightly so then he pulls a gun and he goes on a rampage killing other npcs in the vicinity, LMFAO.

Just like Dishonored 2, this game is a slow burn until the upgrades. Once you have enough points to hack phones and put out APBs, this game is so good. It feels like getting to a camp in Far Cry, but instead of picking guys off stealthily, you're doing it by trolling everyone.
