Watch_Dogs 2 |OT| .HTML

Finally got my helicopter , I'm enjoying playing every mission stealth. Yet to shoot anyone :)

Golden Gate Bridge looks amazing at night time.

Also calling cops on those gold statue performers is so damn funny.

I suck at stealth in this game. I almost always end up spotted and having to play it like a cover shooter because I'm aggressively attacked.

The criteria for detection in this game is very wonky. I just stealth as much as I can with the drone then pull out the stun gun. I don't think I've used any other weapon. There's a stun grenade launcher I saw.

Calling in rival gangs can be fun. Only problem is once a gun fight starts, even if you're not in a restricted area they'll notice and fire at you.

They basically want you to rely on hacking, a lot, to get by. Haven't gotten very far yet, but spamming phone distraction whenever I can has helped.

Okay cool. There are a lot of different things I'm interested in using and not sure where I want to focus yet.

Get the call cops/gang abilities first, as well as the steal cars quietly and control cars remotely ones.

Highlighting large bank accounts is nice if you're struggling with cash.

On a related note, the economy is much better in this game. It was way too easy to break it early in WD1.

Liking this a lot more than WD1, considering I copped that on pc at launch and couldn't even run it reliably at the time.

Played the first couple missions then ~ 2 hours of co op missions w a friend. Can't wait til they fix the seamless multiplayer.. we're pretty eager to hack other people's games lol.

I haven't used anything besides the stun when I get caught. I have no urge to use the 3D printer for anything else. I just wish I could mod it.

Cool. Thanks for the tips. Steal cars quietly will be useful. I must have looked over that one cause it would have been helpful a while back. So far I can hack cars to turn and lunge forward or reverse so I'll go after the cop/gang first. Do you recommend upgrading those to their higher levels before going after other stuff?

Steal cars quietly is on the second tier of one of the trees, I forget which.

The first tier of the cop/gang stuff is fine. Use your points elsewhere before getting the second tiers of those.

COOP is a lot of fun if you actually have someone who you can communicate and coordinate with. Doing recon, discussing options, and creating a plan is awesome, especially with all the crazy stuff you can do. Then having one guy drone and scout things out while the other guy infiltrates can lead to some great fun as well. Then the scout becomes the getaway driver if things escalate.

The biggest thing I can recommend is to not rush through the missions. Take your time. Execute a cool plan that uses all the tools at your disposal. In fact, I recommend that for all the missions, single player included. Also--playing on Realistic is the way to go.

Stealth in this game is completely broken. It doesn't work at all.

Why do you think that?

The Gang Hideouts were the best part of the first game by far. Even the situations that feel similar in this game are somehow worse. I loved screwing with bad guys and blowing up their grenades in 1 but in 2 it feels...weird. I don't know what it is that I don't like as much about it.

Yup :/

I miss a lot about Watch_Dogs 1.

Hey, can we start up a selfie thread? Or start posting them in here? I don't have the game yet, but I heard Jeff on the Bombcast talking about how the game is just begging to have people take ridiculous selfies. I would love to have a laugh!

Love the vistas in this game.

So here's an example of the weird aliasing/artifacting on the cars. The trunk on the right car is a great example.

Since it doesn't show up in screenshots or video taken ingame, I had to take a pic with my cel phone. It must be something to do with the tv upscaling, I'm playing on a regular PS4 on a Sony 4K tv. It's just strange, I've played a ton of games on this setup but have never seen anything like this.

I can't do stealth for shit in this game on most missions.

Man walking around the city just profiling people and seeing their income i can't help but figure y'all bitches are poor you can't live in San Fran with an income like that.

Silenced weapons are not silenced. I hope this is a bug.
You can't move bodies.
Detection system feels broken...it's like they always detect you no matter what you're doing
Stealth melee takedown is too loud and takes too long
Hacking mini game is worse than in WD1, now you sometimes have to run around the base to "connect" the lines...so you better shoot them all.
You can deactivate robots only for a short amount of time
Can you deactivate cameras?
etc etc etc...there's so much more.

The QL with him taking selfies w/homeless guys is fantastic.

Oh and I love how there are no checkpoints at all. One mistake? Let's just redo the whole mission. Thank you, Ubisoft. This game design died more than ten years ago.

Does the coop stuff turn into more than these 5-10 min missions? Did a few last night and although we had a blast (mainly due to things glitching out and the hilarity that the hacking systems allow for), I can see it wearing thin.

Also the game mentioned some kind of scoring type system for coop but I don't see it, or a way to replay the missions to try do them better...?

The lack of Gang Hideouts is actually the first thing I've heard to knock my excitement for this game. They were amazing in the first and justified the purchase for me.

What are your Sharpness/edge enhancement levels like on your TV? Just looks too high to me.

Detection aside, these all sound like good changes to me. It sounds pretty realistic. IRL silencers don't silence that much, and KO'ing people is not generally fast or quiet.

It sounds like you're not using the drone or rc car enough - they seem to really give you more mid-mission mobility and freedom.

The lack of checkpoints is pretty insane. I guess... They want you to git gud?

They were great miniature sandboxes to flex all of your abilities with. I loved doing them as a predator and stealthily killing dudes. Combat shined in them as well.

They properly embodied "Splinter Cell GTA" moments, which were the highlight of the first game.

Tips for losing cops? Just did the part where you steal the car for the cyberdriver mission and my god I had a nightmare of a time. Cop cars ramming me from all sides and the helicopter overhead I couldn't get any breathing room

I played and beat the first game and don't remember having this much difficulty. I tried hacking their cars and swerving them and using the traffic lights and storm drains but they just keep coming

Finally did it but wondering if there's some good methods out there

Yeah just did that last night and that was rough, the police response was comically extreme. I wrecked the car twice before I ended up succeeding.

That mission took me forever and was not particularly fun. I honestly think that mission happens too soon in the game. There are several upgrades to deal with cars chasing you, at that point in the game you don't nearly have enough upgrade points.

Once you get the traffic takedowns and stuff like that, chases get easier.

Yeah, I'm pretty shit at it. lol

Mission spoiler from (probably) early in the game:

Just finished the mission to steal the car from the movie. That was a bitch of a mission, if only because I'm shit at getting away from the cops. Either that or the cops are super aggressive compared to GTA V or something.

"Don't Sweat The Technique" is in the game? :D Love it

Hell yeah. The licensed music is dope in this game. I mean the fact that they have actual radio stations is so much better compared to 1 even though they are not up to par with GTA radio stations.

I think the control change of how to trigger environmental obstacles for takedowns is causing my problem, I feel like I miss them at every turn.

I do love that we got what I always wanted in GTA - an MP3 player.

Side note: one of my favorite artists (Lone) has a song in this game. I'm gonna chalk it up to hudmo curating tracks. So awesome tho.

Also this. It's like a knee-jerk reaction for me when I see it and I trigger a steam pipe explosion in front of me instead of waiting for cops to drive near enough to it.

I was dumb enough to trigger it while I drove right under one. Car was wrecked but still functioning, but it was on its last leg.

I got lucky on that one and randomly came across an underground parking garage. Before that, it felt like it was impossible to get away.

Thanks. Glad it's not just me lol. Hope there's not too many more forced chases like that until later

But, there are?

Had to steal some van and died driving it, did not have to steal it again but restarted driving it.

I have an issue where i have both the cop and gang attacks leveled all the way up

But sometimes when i call them i get really weak low level reinforcement. I've had times where i'll call cops on someone and 2 ordinary patrolmen show up with pistols.

I had a situation yesterday where i call a gang attack on a gang within a restricted area and two guys in tracksuits showed up with pistols even though the enemies were armored with shotguns and AKs

Is there a reason for this that i'm missing? I was under the assumption the toughest cops/gang members are suppose to come everytime

Came here to see if it was me or what I tried this several times last night and spent what seemed like forever just driving around the map until I finally got killed. Without being able to hack much (and nothing on freeway) it's almost futile. Watched a vid and saw someone go into a garage and lost them pretty fast, may try and give that a shot.... I agree way to early in the game and the 2 star wanted/heat almost seemed equal to a 4 star in GTA5. Had a dozen cop cars and a copter after me...

Okay, so I go to one of the safehouses and notice that the neighbour two doors down is a Sons of Ragnarok gang member and he has some money stashed next to him in his backyard. Can't grab it without him or his rottweiler noticing me, and I noticed in the profiiler that he can call for backup and I don't need that. So I decide to call the cops on him so they arrest him and take him away.

The cop car rolls on and two cops get out and make their way to the gang member. As soon as they turn the corner and try to arrest the guy his dog goes berzerk and grabs one officer by the throat. Gang guy grabs his shotgun and blasts the other officer in the face.

Well, shit. Time for more drastic measures. I call in a tier 2 gang hit on him. A car with gang members from the 580 comes rolling in and open fire on the guy. He calls for backup and before I know it an all-out gang war is going on in my front lawn.

random pedestrians in the crossfire call the cops, who roll in with the SWAT for some threeway of death while I spectate via the drone like I'm watching the 7 o clock news.

End result: at least 12 people died, the dog survived and I got my 400 bucks. Totally worth it.

I taunted the dog and the guy came to check, jumping over the fence and out of the red where I knocked him out. Then I used the jumper to grab the cash behind the dog. Just funny how different it can go!
