So, as the title suggests, I'm looking for quality, FREE software to convert WAVs and MIDIs to VBR Lame MP3 files. Any suggestions?

Winamp, though i haven't used it for MP3s in a while. You may need to download an MP3 output plugin.

Either use the LAME codec directly, or a program that uses it. Accept no substitutes.

If you want to do WAV to MP3, just get Razor Lame. There's little reason to use anything else.
