Way too much whining & crying lately so this is a thread to talk about what you're happy about in Gaming

People complain about x franchise getting woke or bad, while true there is just so much other good shit going on I really can't get too mad. There is something for every taste and we're spoiled for choice.

I have been loving streaming Indiana to my steamdeck in bed lately. VR Metro Awakening and Halo mods. Helldivers 2 with the boys. Ship of harkonian on steamdeck with banjo kazooie and star fox recomp on the horizon.

we're eating every single one of us.

Virtua Fighter coming back, still being able to turn off achievements in games and not see them pop, more companies doing cross save and cross play, VR doing "slightly" better, handheld gaming being a huge thing.
But morsoe I am happy with programs that help me game. Moonlight and sunshine, parsec, voice command, and those have absolutely been tremendous the last couple years.

There is kinda something for everyone nowadays.

2024 didn’t do much to blow my hair back, but 2025 looks to be really good.

I remember people saying the same thing about Punch Out Wii. "It will probably use the wii mote and nunchuck, most likely be baby version of Punch Out." I played it recently and its awesome. Stop being a weirdo doomer, its the whole point of this thread.

I'm enough old for being fan of arcade game, nes and Snes versions (even Frank Bruno's boxing for C64) and I purchased Punch out Wii day one. I'm happy you liked it but flaws I mentioned are all there in plain sight of everyone, even weirdo doomer, from day one

Anyway Horizon Zero Dawn is a great remaster for 10€ and I'm happy for it, the lore of this game is very deep and a lot of Forbidden West story elements are already spoiled in the first game, I didn't remember that

I’m happy to just be able to play my games man, and feel like playing them again. I’m happy to be able to come home after work and either switch on my Series X, boot up my PC, or grab one of my handhelds and play for a few hours in the comfort of my own home. I’m also happy to have a lot of different play throughs or game-related content to chill with online whenever I’m in the mood for such.

Games are cool, and hardware that runs them is equally as cool.

I am super grateful that even with all that is going on with other companies/devs, that we still have so many devs that care for what gaming represents and still pump great games one after the other, I am currently playing Unicorn Overlord and it has been amazing til now

God bless Vanillaware and all they have done over the years
Amen.

I'm happy I got to play Unicorn Overlord, Stellar Blade and Astro Bot in the same year. And that I have Metaphor laying around, a game I could've only wished for as a teenager. 20 years later, Atlus is successful and doing what it does best. Incredible.

Edit: I'm also happy that From Software has grown into the company that made Elden Ring. And I'm also really grateful that indie asset flips like "Chained Together" exist - which I loved playing through with my friend(s). What I'm trying to say is that there's something for everyone. Just gotta keep an open mind.

Everybody has to complain about something. It's the worst in gaming as it's ever been. Been gaming since 1989.

The amount of complainers out there. Especially this fucking guy.

Quality of life features just keep getting better. Compared to just a few generations back, we have it real good now.

I consider PlayStation Portal to be part of that. Being able to play my PS5 games when I'm away from the console, be that downstairs, interstate or in the bath is so good.

And I know most people don't give a shit about it, but I'm grateful for the people pushing VR forward. It's amazing when done well and is steadily improving through people's passion for the medium despite being a niche market.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
Astro Bot. Nuff said!

Tbh, I don’t get as much time to game because of the daft dog you see in my profile pic, but I do appreciate more the odd hour or two I that I get here and there. I think the GT7 weekly races have been my favourite addition in the last 12 months.

On the plus side, my daily steps have shot through the roof, as have the amount of holes in the sleeves of any jumpers that I own. 🐶

Things that currently make me happy...

1. Eras, classic teams, and all-time great teams in NBA 2K25 (more sports games should have this), plus the fact that the current gen version is finally on PC.
2. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
3. RDR 2

aaaand that's about it.
