Probably keep the mobile side and dump the rest.Hoeg Law did a great video on what is happening with the company.
100 Billion in debt, it's a lot of pressure. The Crunchyroll deal was held up and that added pressure too.
It will be interesting to see where the studios end up. Either way AT&T will own most of it still.
That's not off the cards since discovery bought them for 43 billion.what I was hoping for was the movie arm of WB would be demolished and replaced with competent leadership

Wish Sony could buy them !
Netherealm or at the very least the Mortal Kombat IP would be a great get for sony especially them going all in with EVO. But they seem like a very short sighted company when it comes to acquiring studios and/or IPS. MS will probably come swoop and sony will money hat capcom for timed street fighter. Sony is in denial about consolidation in the gaming industry and unless they start making moves soon may find themselves on the outside looking in of the industry they once dominated. They easily could... 'would they?' is another question completely, especially under Jim Ryan who is all about cloud gaming and mobile it seems to me.
NetherRealm would really fit with EVO. A lot of the rest is dead weight, they could just pilfer the talent in the fallout cause the licenses are not going with the studios apart from MK.

I agree with all that you said. I wouldnt even say theyre obsessed with cloud gaming but more overly confidant in their position. They seem to be betting and building the farm around naughty dog, more specifically, the last of us. After the divided reception from part 2 id probably expand my horizons. I will say that I think MS's philosophy of acquiring already established IP is smart but i dont think they are the right brand or have a compelling business model to make those IP exciting or desirable. You are 100% accurate. Square Enix just hit 6.1 Billion, way down from nearly 8 billion a couple months ago.
Then this opportunity to get NetherRealm and the MK IP for films and merchandising. Plus other things like Crash and Spyro going unused at Activision and Konami IP's..... There are so many opportunities it is crazy, they have more cash than ever and little debt.
Seems so wasteful and we all seem to be screaming into the void here. They seem to be off in their own imagination land where cloud gaming is everything and they can charge what they feel like and don't have to market games or communicate with fans.... really frustrating stuff.
Rocksteady would be a huge boon for whomever were to get them. Though, I'm not sure where I lay on the matter as I'd love to see them stay multi-plat, but I'd hate to see them scooped up by studio-killers like E.A. or Activision. If they went to MSFT at least we'd get them still on PC. Though, I'm not sure anyone would want them if the DC-games licenses doesn't come with them.Microsoft acquiring WBgames rumors incoming.

I checked this and youre right. Sony is absolutely insane if they arent actively pursuing SE this second. They have 18 billion budget to spend for the next 3 years and have a decent cash flow, mainly from playstation. If they wanted their own 7.5 billion clapback here it is.You are 100% accurate.
