What are your top 10 Capcom games?

In no particular order except for the final game being my number one.

Final Fight
Strider
U.N. Squadron
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo
Power Stone 2
Bionic Commando 2009 (or the original if we're only counting games developed by Capcom)
Ducktales
Mega Man 3
Mega Man X4
Dead Rising

Jesus, that's more varied than I thought it would be.

This ten times.
My fondness for Capcom has tempered over time, but Gregory stands as the game that I enjoyed most. I look forward to playing through it again.

I haven't played much Capcom games, but here goes:

1. Okami

Wonderful adventure game with lots and lots of Japanese folklore with that godtier art and cel-shading. One of my favorite games.

2. Resident Evil 4

Finished the game in a few days after I got it. It was overwhelming experience. Cool game for the occasional replay.

3. Oracle of Ages/ Oracle of Seasons

Colorful and different experience than normal zelda games. Pretty hard games to finish actually. That Goron dance took me forever to complete!

4. Minish Cap

This was my go to handheld zelda before a link between worlds came out. Kinstone fusion is the best.

5. Ghost Trick

Awesome ride from start to finish with excellent animation.

Honorable mention: Tatsunoko vs Capcom (If casshern doesn't do it, who will?)

1. Devil May Cry 3
2. Marvel vs Capcom 2
3. Okami
4. Dragon's Dogma
5. Resident Evil 2
6. Street Fighter 2
7. Resident Evil 4
8. Viewtiful Joe
9. God Hand
10. Devil May Cry

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter - Love or hate the mechanics, this game was brilliant, way ahead of its time, and completely unappreciated. It had a roguelike-inspired reset mechanic that I think would get more acceptance if it were released, say, this year.

Breath of Fire IV: Yeah, also brilliant. Very traditional JRPG but the characters really brought it to god tier gaming status. I still remember them all, years later.

Okami - Such a lovely and inspired game. It was like getting 3 games in one, so long. But so good!

Devil May Cry - I enjoyed the original, so I'll put this here. I never bothered with any of the other games.

That's it for me, folks!

I wouldn't even have a top 10 Capcom game list but a top 10 series list with their best game in it.

10) Viewtiful Joe
9) Okami
8) Godhand
7) MVC2MVC3
6) Megaman 2/MMX
5) Street Fighter 2
4) Dino Crisis 2
3) Resident Evil 2/4
2) Dragon's Dogma
1) Devil May Cry/Devil May Cry 3 SE

This list was extremely hard to make and I would consider every game in that list a bonfide classic. And I am missing like 10 other game series that could fit in there.

Capcom is honestly my favorite game developer of all time.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
this is tough....

  1. Ghost Trick - Maybe the greatest adventure game of all time
  2. Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001 - dozens of hours in college playing this with my boys
  3. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike - super fond memories of the arcade
  4. Super Street Fighter II Turbo - got this for xmas when i was 6, fell in love with SF forever
  5. Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations - end of the finest adventure trilogy in gaming
  6. Resident Evil 4 - a tremendous achievement in shooters
  7. Ultra Street Fighter IV - 100s of hours, several fight sticks, this got me from an arcade player to a serious home-arcade creator. had my friends over so much playing this game over a 5 year span
  8. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - start of the finest adventure trilogy in gaming
  9. Mega Man 9 - another one i played with friends, trying to one-up each other was ablast
  10. Devil May Cry - one of the first PS2 games i got, have super fond memories of the gothic architecture and tight gameplay

1) Resident Evil 4
2) Street Fighter 4
3) Marvel vs Capcom 3
4) Killer 7
5) Viewtiful Joe 2
6) Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
7) The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
8) Resident Evil 5
9) God Hand
10) Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition/DmC: Definitive Edition

I still don't understand why Capcom don't have an E3 stage presence when EA and Ubisoft do?
Capcom are godlike. Even with this list only have 10 games, pretty much everything they make is gold and I don't really disagree with everyone elses list either.

The fact that Ducktales on NES has only been mentioned by a scant few of you makes me very, very sad.

The fact that Screwattack didn't mention it makes me mad.

There are too many good Capcom games out there for me to list just 10. If I was to start listing, I'd be here for most of the day.

Also OP's list was awesome until he list that horrible crap called God Hand.

Not necessarily ranked by what I think are the better games, but rather by stuff that, given the right company or mood, I can still pop-in/boot up & have a good time with to this day.

1. Alpha 2
2. 3rd Strike
3. Dragon's Dogma
4. Battle Circuit
5. AvP
6. XvSF ( I can't keep up in Marvel 2/3, but this one is more dialed-back while still having enough freedom/broken stuff to keep it fun in comparison to its 2 immediate predecessors)
7. Sengoku Basara 3
8. Puzzle Fighter
9. Tech Romancer
10. Hyper Fighting

Normally it'd be hard to come up with a list like that. With Capcom it's only hard to keep it to 10.

RE2 - I played it a little late but I enjoyed it the most of all classic REs.
RE5 co-op - Easily one of the greatest co-op experiences ever. Best, most satisfying gameplay of any of the 'action' REs, great mercs mode.
MVC3 - Didn't spend as much time with UMVC3 as I should have but MVC3 just clicked with me as a fighting game. I had more fun with its training mode than I do most fighters period.
Ace Attorney - I liked them all, but the first one by far the most.
God Hand - I bought it the week it came out because of a video Saur made to mock IGN's shitty review. When I opened the manual and saw the main character was the same age as me, and had the same name, I knew it was destiny. I should play it again.
Mega Man Zero 2 - Only Mega Man game I've really loved after the original series. Didn't quite get into the X games that much. Played the SHIT out of this, no elves, speedruns etc.
RE4 - Just a masterpiece in general.
Alien vs Predator arcade - Game blew me away when I saw it as a kid, and it's still mechanically my favorite in its genre.
Mega Man 3 - Nostalgia factor plus it's just an awesome game all around. Always liked it better than 2.
I'll just have one entry for Monster Hunter games at #1 because they'd take up half the list.

Wow, barely any mention of the Breath of Fire series (except from the people I usually see praising the series). Good going guys. I guess it makes more sense now why the series has ended up like this.

1. Breath of Fire 3 - One of the best rpgs I have played and I don't say this lightly
2. Ace Attorney Trilogy - The cast is instantly likable and I would like to be friends with them
3. Mega Man 9 - In actuality the best mega man in the original series
4. Oracle of Ages / Seasons - Not quite Link's Awakening, but still among the best game boy color games
5. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts - Still one of the hardest and best experiences I've had in platforming

These stand out for me. The rest are in no particular order:

Breath of Fire 4
Mega Man 3
Breath of Fire 2
Mega Man 2
This is where Dai Gyakuten Saiban will go once it is localized, right Capcom?

It doesn't surprise me to come in here and find that Viewtiful Joe 2 remains underplayed and overlooked.

Not putting together a full list, but VJ1 is a very clear first and Okami is a very clear second.

1. Gotcha Force - tight controls, fast paced, good character variety. It's the best game they've ever made, I have been waiting for a remaster/sequel since and would buy whatever console it appears on.
2. Rival Schools
3. Monster Hunter 4U
4. Power Stone 2
5. Megaman X
6. Breath of fire 2
7. Tatsunoko vs Capcom
8. Capcom vs SNK 2

2) Ghost Trick
3) Ghost Trick
4) Ghost Trick
5) Ghost Trick
6) Ghost Trick
7) Ghost Trick
8) Ghost Trick
9) Ghost Trick
10) Ghost Trick

Quite simply I feel that Ghost Trick is a game that everyone should play. It's story is wonderfully detailed and engaging right from the first minute, along with a control scheme simple enough that anyone can approach it with confidence. The story line from start to finish is utterly wonderful, with plenty of dynamic characters fleshed out throughout with dialogue and animations to match their quality. Overall the story is one that stays with you and is sure to put a smile on your face.

Puzzles are mostly simple with one or two monkey wrenches thrown in, however the 4 minute time limit design allows for unlimited retries so it removes the pressure other games may suffer from. They challenge you and upon completion release to you that satisfaction only some puzzlers achieve (For me Catherine is the only other to do so). It was a game that i had fun with. Real fun that makes you want to keep playing and saddens you when the game ends.

So if any of you chumps have yet to play it do so.

Not on iOS though. Fuck Apple.

1) Mega Man 9 ; The best Mega Man game with the best levels and best weapons and best robot masters and best music.

2) DmC: Devil May Cry ; The only game in the series I like, and my favorite character action game.

3) Resident Evil 4 ; It's Resident Evil 4.

4) Resident Evil Revelations 2 ; Surprisingly good.

5) Mega Man 6 ; An underrated Mega Man game in my opinion. Great music and graphics and some interesting levels and robot masters. My favorite of the NES games.

6) Mega Man 10 ; A disappointing follow-up to Mega Man 9, but a great game in its own right.

7) Resident Evil Revelations ; This might largely just be because of the time in my life that I played it, but I got a lot of enjoyment out of this game's Raid Mode.

8) The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages ; I feel like the Oracle games are underrated. Yeah, they're pretty much just expansion packs to Link's Awakening, but they're really good expansion packs. I thought Ages was the better of the two.

9) Viewtiful Joe ; I don't think I ever even beat this game on Adults, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

10) Bionic Commando (2009) ; This game had its flaws, but swinging was great.

Might be good to note that reasons should be added to listings since list threads tend to be on severe thin ice on GAF.

As for mine, it'll be made up of the RE and Dino Crisis titles. I'll throw it up if the thread sticks long enough to get to a desktop.
