This happens with Nintendo every year. They say nothing all year, and then as it gets closer to the event the rumors start flying, and everybody's winking at everybody else, only to have Nintendo not mention or show what was being hyped up.

I've never said Johnny lied; in fact, I believe he was completely honest and just let his excitement over having inside knowledge lead him to be a little stupid. What Johnny got was an interpretation, colored by some footage and paperwork, and he's brought with him a whole host of assumptions that really can't be contradicted but are, in factm, just that: interpretations and assumptions.
His only crime was playing the elite insider role, and frankly, it's hard NOT to do that when you get a particularly juicy nugget. He shared it with you, and you couldn't help but play that little card every chance you got as well. Both of you made the mistake of not recognizing the gamble, and assuming that Johnny's take on the Revolution was somehow uncolored by the circumstances under which he saw it, and that Nintendo wouldn't pull information at the last second from your press release.
When you get HAWT INSIDE TIPS, enjoy 'em, and SIT ON THEM. Otherwise, unless you have express first-hand knowledge, yer just gonna be another SPoNG, and frankly, we need less of that. Nobody but nobody enjoys a cocktease, and your urge to correct the "enemy" with a coy remark needs to be clamped down tight.
As for Nbots: if I'm not the one doing the owning, I don't care. I'm perfectly happy with the Nintendo conference, as I am with the MS and Sony ones. Winning or losing E3 doesn't mean shit to me. The GBA Micro looks kickass, I like the Rev product design, and I'm sure Zelda will be good.
There's no doubt that I'd love for there to be only the PS3 next generation, and that I'm a big ol' fruit for the PSP. But it's not a binary thing; liking and endorsing one thing doesn't mean I dismiss* everything else. There's what I want, and what there *is*, and my entertainment is rooted in the *is*, not the *may be*. That's where me and the Nintards part company, and why my palm is always reddening their chubby little cheeks.
(Well, except the DS; I dismiss it because it's fucking INSULTING.)

Eh. I don't know if Johnny was right about everything, but certainly Nintendo has a history of having footage available to show and holding it back. Plus, didn't he say Crystal Chronicles would be coming to Revolution? You could say that's an obvious guess, but from what I've read that was the only specific third-party game mentioned at the conference.
After these conferences I find myself wishing for a REAL one console future. Sony's hardware, Microsoft's controller and Live setup, Nintendo's design and interface experimentation.

Have you seen the actual numbers, and are you qualfied to make that assessment? Or did your fanboy friend(s) do that for you? 'cuz shit ain't addin' up here.
If they had all of this 3rd party support lined up they surely would have outlined it, and they DEFINATELY would not have made a point of saying they "expect" to have good 3rd party support - that word "expect" was purposely thrown in there, you don't make those kind of conditional statements blindly.

You know, if you think about it, Nintendo would have been lost in PS3/360 hype regardless. Perhaps they are saving it for their own show. "Wait till Spaceworld" maybe? Johnny, find out! I'm glad you at least feel confident enough to say spec wise, it's powerful and that 3rd party support is strong.

Hey, despite what seem to be last minute changes in the E3 line-up, I'm VERY appreciative of Johnny Nighttrain's leaks. He's sincere enough, and I believe every last thing he's said. Fact is, if I hadn't heard what I've heard from him concerning Rev. hardware and 3rd party support, things that give me hope, I'd be shooting myself in the head right now because that press conference was DISAPPOINTING. Hell, he's probably even more disappointed then everyone else here, because he at least has a notion of what could have been.

One thing I've learned when dealing with shit like this is that 90% of the time what you see/hear changes. Features change, designs change, information changes. To whoever said "if you get insider info, the best thing to do is sit on it" is spot on. Most of the time you're just going to end up looking like a jackass, even if you *were* telling the truth. It's not worth it. The truth comes out sooner or later.
