Am I the only one who hates the artifically worn jeans craze? When I want broken-in jeans I want REAL wear. The whiskers just look so forced and painted-on

Are you serious? :lol

That thread was so long ago... I have no idea why I saved that pic to my server, but it's been there for a long time. I figured whoever made that thread was long gone!

This is my #1 problem with a lot of stores. I'm skinny and kind of short (5'8") but the rest of the country is big and tall in comparison, so a lot of clothes don't fit right, they are just cut too wide or whatever and look like crap on me. This makes me need to go to these other stores just for something decent, but then I'm not loaded or anything so I just have to hope I have good luck on the thrift market. If I lived in Japan there would be no problem. :/

Not an option for me due to the aforementioned issues, though occasionally Target might have something decent.

Do you have any outlets near? You can find some really good deals on designer clothes at an outlet. Just make sure to read the labels, some outlet stores sell substandard crap. Otherwise, if you want to get deals on clothes you basically have to go shopping a lot. Not sure what else to tell you.

With this...I do actually own a couple of Ben Sherman button ups.

This thread has made me realize there are too many fucks that dress just like me :D

BTW what is the proper pronunciation of RVCA? I usually pronounce it "roo-cuh" but I

know that's wrong.

I've got at least 10 of those short-sleeve Ben Sherman button-ups too, I went a bit nuts on them last summer - wasn't cheap either at about $130 a throw but they use such rad Italian cotton that the quality is definitely worth paying for, but it's a pity because I'm sick of stripes and check now and so I won't be wearing about 6 or 7 of them anymore, I'll only wear the solids now - stripes and check are so last year, its time for me to be free from the prison-bars, it's all light pastel solids, abstract one-offs and spots for me this season. :)

I also feel the need to add that my new white Nike Tailwinds with pink highlights are fucking sick. :p

I only wear ironic nerd/vid game t-shirts and tizight jeans. and i part my hair to the side. and i dont shower. and i wear sandals with socks.

I wear brand name clothes that mum buys me (they suck, but i dont care!). Shopping for myself is a dangerous scary world that i'm not ready for yet :p

I have one Ben Sherman long-sleeve button-up shirt that cost me a pretty penny. But I don't care. I deserved it. It makes me look pretty.

I generally wear Diesel jeans(girls of course), band t-shirts, and button-up shirts. During the Autumn/Winter, I tend to wear lots of button-up shirts with sweaters over them and such. Steve Madden shoes of course.

I like your style. Steve Madden shoes are awesome, but so are Diesel ones.

What kind of sweaters do you wear?

Diesel and such. I generally tend to shop at Urban Outfitters for jackets, sweaters, and pants and such.

Diesel shoes look great, but I've got a couple of pairs and neither of them are anywhere near as comfy as say my Nikes - I dont know if its my feet or the shoes but I'm never buying them again that's for sure.

What are Steve Madden shoes? A USA only brand?

Mostly urban type stuff... not usually one for labels but LRG Geans make some awesome tops and pants. Obey, Staple, Live Mech etc. are other choice picks.

Ben Sherman has some pretty nice track jackets.

No, I'm not a girl. I just wear girl pants, because I like the way they look. O_O

You'd HAVE to be straight wearing tight girl's jeans....I couldn't imagine bending my legs in those things.

I wish you would post more pics of yourself other than just shots of your pants

Edit: I mean, whole body, nothing dirty intended

FCUK had a badass track jacket when I went to their store recently but they left the hem all frayed and I cant get behind that so no sale. I like Banana Republic quite a bit as well but their shirts are cut in a fashion that doesn't leave me much room to raise my arms (very tight in the underarm) and I'm not a fan of that so I have to try on everything there before I go ahead and buy it.

As much as I love their clothes, I personally think Diesel shoes are fucking retarded. What's with them going in the opposite direction of your feet's natural curl? If I'm going leather for my shoes, it's all about Puma. Ben Sherman rocks btw.

Yeah, this thread needs more real wardrobe content pics and less google pics. Get them digicams out lads and show me your true American style!

We dont get a lot of your brands down here like (based on the labels in this thread) Gap, Banana Republic, Steve Madden, RVCA, Express For Men, Hollister and American Eagle.

They all sound very Orange County to me, very clean-cut Gant-style, is that about right?

I had no idea flip flops were so popular on GAF. I always saw them as more of a girl's type of wear. Guess I'm not observant enough. =/

In which order do you get dressed? Whats your favourite way to tie your laces? Do you shop retail or discount? What soap do you use? Does it dry your skin? Does my arse look big in this? Oh crap I think my periods just came.

My tastes? Uber-expensive. Think Helmut Lang, Morrissey, Ralph Lauren and Marcs meshed with streetwear, lots of Paul Frank, Mossimo, Joe the Taxi Driver, Industrie, Mooks, Onitsuka, Nike etc. I don't wear anything but brand-names as a rule.

It's like something out of American Psycho =)

My rules: No button-up shirts, solid colour-good fit tees, low jeans and white shoes.

I mostly wear Xlarge and lesser known skate brands. I buy a lot of my clothes online from the USA because I like having individual tees that aren't sold at all the chain stores here. I always wear brand clothing, but only obscure brands. Wearing brands people aren't familiar with means that you can't be judged by tasteless trend whores.

Here's something I wore a month or two ago (took the pic then, don't ask me why). The pic doesn't do the shirt justice....it really stands out, and I noticed a lot of people (particularly gurlz omg) looking at me while walking around downtown while wearing it. I look damn_sexy in it.

It's a cool shirt, although not one of what I would consider my 'money shirts'. A couple fridays ago a girl friend in her drunken state poured her beer on me while I wore the shirt, still can't remember what I said that made her do that. Thankfully though it was Bud Light, which I believe is 78% water, so it's fine now.

That's an actual picture of me, after taking the invisibility/deflation serum. I then got naked and ran around raping girls like Kevin Bacon.

Hey I've noticed that you Americans seem to get around in boots and proper shoes a lot, is that because the clubs over there generally wont let you in with trainers on?

1. Yes, clubs generally don't allow "trainers"

2. I don't go to clubs. I wear shoes like that because I like how they look and I don't need to be wearing running shoes all the damn time. Who runs when you've got a car?

these are the kinds of shirts i wear...only i usually get them from guess. i've posted my guess collection before, tho.

so here's a new pic..

stood in line for 25 minutes, too. since i drove my gf's car and she was with her friend, i had to go back to my place tog et some fucking boots. by the time i got back there was only 30 minutes left until "last call."

Clubs generally don't care about jeans, though, do they?

demon said:

none of the clubs i've been to have any rules against jeans. however, jeans tattered and torn with holes are not allowed at most clubs.

Yeah, how do you get around that? i've toyed with the idea of wearing jeans, "fitted" jeans if you will, but i'd rather have everyone's attention down there, especially those who have the same equipement down there -- i get enough of that. It's not a problem at work because i wear an apron. My work pants are fairly loose khakis, although they tend to get tight from time to time. :lol

Flip-flops aren't trainers, trainers are sneakers. :)

And we're lucky, most decent clubs in Sydney will let you in these days in trainers and stressed denim jeans, it's only the bodgey old-man clubs that are hanging onto that old rule - I mean, we have come here to boogie, don't make us do it in our school shoes maaaaan, let me in wearing my favourite Onitsuka tigers maaaan!

onitsuka.jpg

demon: I'm the same but opposite, I dont run either but I just find that trainers feel heaps comfier and look a truckload better than my Julius Marlow or Florsheim black leather shoes which I'll always have to wear to work the next day anyway. :)

Women's and men's fashions overlap now. You missed that?

Can I still be t-shirt, jeans, shoes casual? Colder weather usually invovles me putting on a coat or sweatshirt. I don't like girl pants or button-up shirts... can I still be in the club?

MAF, a question: How do you avoid name-brand clothing? Do you make your own? Or do you just avoid the really big name-brands?

You look like everyone else if you still wear striped shirts IMO. I only bought one, and that was a way long time ago (+1 year), and I'd never buy another, because they all look the same to me. Stop praising Ben Sherman too :lol, you can get a lot of striped shirts that look the same for way cheap if you really want!
