These games cost like 100 million to make, MS would have to pay 300 million for the first games in each, let alone more for each franchise. MS is looking to make money here, not keep spending it.

Besides, the answer is Alan Wake 2.
 
-New Steel Battalion with a new huge controller (sadly that horrible Kinect game has probably killed the series for good).

-New Crimson Skies.

-Kinect-less bundle for Japan launch (let's be honest, Kinect just doesn't work here for the majority of households).

Whoever, if they released something i really want i can borrow it from one of my friends.
Was thinking of doing the same for ps4 then Project beast was announced.
 
If MS can revive Otogi that would just be friggen bad-ass!

edit: Holy Shit what if Project Nagano is Otogi. SEGA owns the IP and Platinum have worked with them. If MS would fund it I see no reason why sega wont say yes to the offer.
 
Something that makes the Kinect a must-have piece of hardware.

In terms of the rest of their hardware, they're trying to sell me a comparatively under powered machine at $100 more. The main justification of that price is supposed to be Kinect, but I don't see what it's doing that comes close to justifying that premium.

They could moneyhat games, but I doubt that'll do it for me anytime soon. Would have to be something REALLY big like the next Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption.

So yeah, a price drop obviously, but it's going to take Kinect doing something incredible (like the Wii and its controller first did) to make it worthwhile.
 
I just sold my second Xbox One (got the first one completely free and second one cost me nothing thanks to amazing trade in bonuses). I would, in a heartbeat, rebuy one this time with actual money if they announced not only a Next Gen HD Collection for Gears of War (give me 1, 2, 3, Judgment or just one) and then a new Gears of War. Gears is my favorite series. Being able to play it on next gen and then some new entries in the series would be so awesome.

And to be honest, I'll still be on the fence. They don't have anything anymore I can't get from my PC or a PS4 and getting the better version of. Even Titanfall was better on the PC.
 
Definitely some new IPs that we want to play. Don't give us this exclusive DLC garbage. Give us actual exclusive games that look like you actually worked on them, that shows what the system is capable of. I wasn't convinced by Ryse (sorry, but I wasn't), and BF4 and COD map packs won't sell me on XB1 being a must own. I want to see actual GAMES! Sony did the balance between entertainment and gaming console. Why can't you, MS?

Cut the price. Right now, 400-500 seems steep for a system that doesn't have much to offer, and we all know why the price tag is there: Kinect bundled in. Give us a package that doesn't include that damn thing that you keep insisting is the best thing you've ever come up with, and you can cut the price by a fourth.
 
- An amazing VR helmet that trumps Oculus Rift and Sony's VR, but compatible with PC and all future Oculus Rift PC games.
- treating customers with respect.
- New IP that is amazing and different than anything else out there (no more freaking shooters).

Barring that, any 3 of the following:

The Witness on XB1

Halo 2: Anniversary (with complete online multiplayer)

Viva Pinata 3

Chrono Cross sequel from a similar team, and the same composer.

An exclusive sequel to "Civilization Revolution"

Throwing out Kinect and lowering console price.

Xbox Live Gold for $20 a year or less.
 
Honestly it would be better TV functionality. Like a model that replaces your cable box and DVR. I would totally spend $300 (yes still needs a price drop) to avoid paying an extra $11 a month to Time Warner Cable. And better media center functionality, hurry up and port VLC and XBMC to the xbone!


Because the only Microsoft IP I've ever been interested in is Halo, and 343 kinda killed that. But if Microsoft gives me a non-gaming reason to pick up the xbone I might bite.

I already have a ps4 with a two year PS+ subscription. So I don't get what you're on about saying that buying an xb1 somehow means I would be stuck with worse third party games. People are still allowed to enjoy games on more than one platform right?

All they need to do is provide some amazing exclusives in the same manner they did last generation.
 
No kinect, price drop below ps4 since i don't want to pay more for less, exclusives i will actually give a shit about (good fighting game or lots of just middle-tier unique titles)

Ideologues are all generally pretty weird, but in this particular case I find it especially weird due to the fact they already won and got the policies changed. It has changed from a protest targeted at protecting their rights to play great games the way they wanted. Now it's an embittered refusal to play any great games that may come out on the system because they once briefly proposed to do something you disliked.

there really is nothing they could show me, between a ps4 and a wiiu I would never find the time (or money) to add a third console and i seem to always have enough to go on with..

i think the xbox/360/xbone are great consoles, i just don't have much history with them so there is no attachments to their exclusives or franchises like their is with sony & nintendos for me personally
 
Nothing really as have no interest in a system that size + having another power brick to kick by accident is even worse. Did that enough times with my 2 360s. (JP / US) D:

But the main factor is just their overall initial attitude which made me say fuck you guys for good pretty much. Sad considering with all the problems the 360 had, I still enjoyed the some of the exclusive games on it.

+Smaller form factor (ps4 or smaller) - and lose that ginormous power brick
+Need to see some legit, 3rd party bonafide exclusives (no PC simultaneous) that will release in the next 12 months (need real AAA not B tier stuff 'eg' - Dead Rising 4)
+ A dedicated commitment to provide minimum 1 free game per month via 'Games for Gold'
+ emulated 360 BC
+ a proper baseball title
+ white console available for all
 
A price drop at or close to $299, preferably without Kinect, and at least 5 exclusive games t o make it worth my while. Of course I'm not interested in Halo, Gears of War, or Forza, so my options with Microsoft are rather limited.

Look, over the past week I had literally ONE HOUR to spare for gaming (except for an occasional jump into Clash of Clans, but that's a separate story). I know for a fact that I'll have to get used to this being my situation for next two years: I am working full time and I am participating a shit-tough MBA program on the side. I'll be lucky to have any play time.

There is absolutely no possibility of there existing a game, that would be so mind-blowingly, worlds-explodingly amazing, that I would buy another console to play it. I already have a PS4 and I hopefully have some time to play with it in June. Given these circumstances, what would you suggest could entice me to get an Xbox One?

Realistically nothing from the Xbox E3 show will make me go out and buy one. No news announcement in gaming ever made me want to buy a console right on the spot. Games make me want to buy them though.

Unrealistically a $200 or less xbox one (but not at E3 as I'm putting that extra money to my PC), free games, extra power somehow, and all apps can be used without needing xbox live gold.
 
A proper Crackdown sequel with better multiplayer options, more interesting quests, better AI and a more in-depth progression system (still keep the orbs of course!).

Oh, and Halo 5, i guess.

They've just got to show a strong lineup of exclusives. The PS4 is the superior port machine so MS basically needs to make XB1 this generation's PS3 with a fantastic first/second party lineup.
 
Lost interest in the Gears/Halo stuff a long time ago, so new and diverse IPs

nothing now, i might jump in at the end of the generation. depending if it gets any good games. however, what they do within these next few years might influence what console i buy next generation.
 
Exclusive new Dark Souls/Demon's Souls game would definitely get me to buy an Xbox One. Though realistically there isn't much they can do.

Project Gotham Racing was killed off. Odds of a new Rallisport Challenge game are equally nonexistent. I don't think we'll see a new Condemned anytime soon either...

Gears of War and Halo have lost most of their appeal to me. Halo because those games haven't evolved much since the first one. Played it way too safe imho, same goes for Gears I loved both first games in the series, but they've slowly spent their goodwill after not going anywhere. And if HD-HD remakes are the best they can come up with, I ain't ever coming back.

I do own a PS4, but that's not exactly blowing me away either at this point. Both MS and Sony just need some interesting exclusives. Work with smaller budgets if they need to minimize the risk if they have to. Just do something cool.

Generally, but if they started buying exclusivity so that Multiplatform games become Xbox exclusive, that would actually put me off. I want exclusives, but not exclusives at the expense of others (especially as I'd have bought those Multiplatform on PS4)

I want good MS IPs resurrected (PGR and rallisport would be a start), new ones developed, and unique games brought to market that wouldn't otherwise get published.
 
I will re-buy an Xbox One (hopefully white model) for the next Gears title. I played those games MP solidly for years. I miss it.

Hopefully there's a trailer at E3 of it.
 
I'm going to also chime in with "nothing". I've already got a PS4, most games are multiplat these days (I've actually been playing mostly indie games recently, which the Vita is good for, and I'm confident the PS4 will be good for too).

Maybe I'll get one in 3-4 years time? When it's built up a good backlog of exclusives and is super cheap? That just seems sensible to me - I've not got unlimited time / money to spend on gaming.

Fake Edit: Oh, and I won't be getting a kinect. Either a kinectless version will be out by then, or I'll buy second-hand.

I'm in the "probably nothing camp" and its simply because i'm being realistic. Sure you can think up hypothetical stuff but if it goes too far whats the point? Is it useful to say "hey if they paid me to take one i would"? I think for the thread to have any useful discussion the more the "what if..." Is possible the better.

Take my position as an example:
  • Ive invested heavily in expensive Smart TVs that are wifi enabled and i use my TVs directly for anything like Netflix, Ilovefilm, etc - the upshot is i wont be using a console (any console) for media going forward. As an example i havent installed one media app on PS4 nor do i have any interest in media support via PS4. For Xbox this means the HDMI in, the media and TV, Skype calls etc is dead to me. Literally dead and of no use
  • I have a decent gaming PC and get most games on that still - Mass Effect, TitanFall, Battlefront - they're all PC games to me
  • I look to console for exclusive games i can't get on PC, games that are family orientated even if they exist on PC - so for example i get Lego games on console for coop with kids and as a physical media player to remove need for seperate Blu Ray player
  • I like motion control sports/fun games on console and believe right approach is physical devices such as Wii mote and nunchuck or Playstation Move and see Kinect as a poor approach for such games
  • Ive already invested in PS4 as cheaper, more powerful console that i know will deliver a large library of true exclusives - i.e. They wont be on PC.
  • I had a PS3 and 360 last gen. Due to much of the above - sans the TV bit - i ended up with a small 360 library and learnt that Xbox (for me anyway) doesnt add much alongside a PC vs a Sony or Nintedo console (i had a Wii too and may still plump for a Wii U depending on how this year plays out for the console)

Now given the above you can see my issue thinking of relatively realistic scenarios for MS for me? I'm only interested in Xbox in relation to the above so as i see it:
  • Price has to come way down. I'm not interested in paying for media, HDMI in and Kinect and without those its simply a weaker PS4 hence for me it needs to be at least same price or ideally cheaper than PS.
  • They need to produce a huge number of true exclusives. And i dont mean moneyhats. I wont support them buying up Fallout or something like that as i want that on PC. No i mean stuff like Halo or Forza. Games built for Xbox and fully funded by MS. Additional games to those i know exist in the market that id want to play and they cant be on PC either - so no trying to nab an existing multi-platform franchise and no Alan Wake timed exclusive stuff with a better version coming later to PC. TitanFall for me for example was another reason not to buy an Xbox. I mean games that are new IP and its made clear will never hit PC anytime soon (at least not for three years or more if ever).

Is the above possible? Sure but it seems unlikely to me - hence why i say probably nothing.
