Eye-wateringly gorgeous old school 2D platformer, its basically Donkey Kong Country with a bit of Rayman, Jak & Daxter and Crash Bandicoot thrown in. Very relaxing experience, a rarity on PC. Really enjoying it.

Air Twister: I wasn't prepared for how batshit this game is, in music and general visual design. Basically just Space Harrier.

Indiana Jones: Stone cold masterpiece of a game. Nothing like it in recent memory. The exploration is so detailed and satisfying.

Fantasian: Still plugging away at it slowly. One of my favorite JRPGs in a long time. Just cozy and easy to play without a lot of filler.

Pretty cool Metroidvania/ Blasphemous rip off with a sprinkle of Bloodborne on top. The graphics are very derivative of Blasphemous, almost same art direction, animations etc. If not for the Bloodborne skin it would be a carbon copy and probably prone to a lawsuit. But I don't mind. Blasphemous is the GOAT so for me it's just more of the same, even if it's not particularly original. It has good combat, nice exploration and some wicked bosses. Extra points for the cool blunderbuss weapon you can wield. Cons are the weird performance issues. A game like this should run flawless on Switch.

I have been afraid to play this game for so long lol. I always start up another shooter because I feel like this would ruin them all. Ridiculous, I know. I should just get down on RS.

Fun fact: My disc is a bootleg because I ain't paying that shit. If I ever have the money to get a copy, I will buy it, I promise. Anything over 70-80 bucks on retro games I think twice and RS twice again. So I got my fake disc and it works and everything and I go with a marker to label the disc. I'm profoundly stoned. Later, I looked at the disc and I had written

Lol.

You no longer need to hunt down the Saturn original. You can buy it digitally on Steam, Xbox and even the Nintendo store. There is even a physical edition for the Switch.

UFO 50, particularly the Fist Hell game. I suck at this beat em up! Im having to keep it loaded on my steam deck because I don't want to lose my progress in what is a 20 minute game lol.

I think I'm going to start Hollow Knight tomorrow on Switch. I'm going to TRY to play with the thumb stick. I'd rather play it on Deck but still struggling to hold it for long. I have multiple alternate dpad devices for switch but haven't found one I like.

Oh, no. I collect and love playing on original hardware. I avoid bootlegs wherever possible, but I try not to get too stupid with the eBay rampages and getting a bootleg as a placeholder tamps down the urge to do something dumb.

I'm excited for you to play Hollow Knight. What controllers have you tried for a decent dpad?

Is This game better than Genshin? only got into genshin recently and man they are very stingy on giving you stuff for pulls
I like it more than Genshin as it has better open world traversal and more in-depth combat.

They're pretty generous with the rewards/pulls as well. You get a free 5 star selector that you can use after you finish the tutorial and then there's also a beginner's banner where you can pull a random 5 star after 40 pulls. So that's 2 free 5 star characters in your first 3-4h of gameplay.

If you start now I think you'll also get an additional 1800 Astrite because the game was nominated at TGA 2024 for 2 awards which converts to extra 10 pulls in your banner of choice. IMO the monetization is really fair for an open world gacha and def better than in Genshin.

Just finished Remake 2 as Leon, very good game, fantastic level design. Took some time to figure out some of the things, but I only needed external help once. That is a testament to how brilliant the gamedesign is, considering how some solutions really come out of the left field.

I have a question though; is a Claire playthrough warranted or should I go straight for the sequel?

Finished Tactical Breach Wizard, it's a really great mix of XCOM and Into the Breach.

Differently from Into the Breach, this has a pretty good storyline with well written characters. The writing goes between serious and witty effortlessly, I didn't expect to enjoy it so much.

The levels are all handcrafted and there is no procedural generation involved. The game foster experimentation since there is a rewind mechanic that is part of the core gameplay loop. It's super fun!

Highly recommended, this is a great gateway game into the genre.

Currently I'm halfway through Space Marine 2. I'm having tons of fun. And it's badass too, what's not to like.

Bought it when it came out, only just got round to it. What an absolute banger of a game! Only been playing it in single player but it exceeds that Swat 4 itch

I don't think any horror game has made me crap my pants this bad either.

Also, there is nothing more satisfying than having your pants crapped after some pedo tries to dome you, misses, and you unload fifteen odd unsilenced MP5 9mm's in them, it actually gives you a shock its so quick..

I love this game!

I canceled my sub after playing for the last month or so. I got four classes to level eighty and did plenty of delves and other content - I felt I've had my money's worth for the moment.

Just bought Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen on GOG. Still can't access it on the PS5. Gonna spend most of my Sunday on that. Vae Victis!

Definitely worth going through as Claire at some point, but I'd go with starting Resi 3.

First thing I thought when I saw that gif is precisely 'Is that a complete rip-off of Space Harrier or a 'spiritual succesor'?' 🤔🤔

And then I checked, yep, Yu Suzuki is in, so pretty much 'Space Harrier' for the millenials. 😅

I don't know who it's for lol. The OST is Grade A Chiquita Bananas. It's really overpriced but it's a fun enough game. I got it for $10 and that's pushing it on price.

Currently playing it, very nice First Person Tactical Shooter. You can't save so the tension is great. Still one of the best weapon feeling of all time.

Honestly didn't think I'd be able to do this. Very happy right now.

Took me a couple of hours to take down Malenia, with the help of Black Knife Tiche. Mage build, mostly using Night Comet. Finished her off with Comet Azur, which was rather epic. Dodged her Scarlet Aeonia attack, and smashed her with it as she was getting back up!

I would absolutely suggest going with Claire right after, yes. The game is kinda meant to be played this way and you only get the "true ending" when finishing both runs (which is not worth doing only for the ending, just saying). In contrast to the original RE2, RE2makes A/B adventures are MUCH more identical to each other, so in large parts it might feel more like an NG+ to you. But I do it's worth it, and personally I don't like skipping through much between games (going to 3, then going back to 2 in this case)

Gran Turismo 7. It's great. One small thing -- wish there was more road cars. Jaguar X Types, Skylines, Volvos, TVRs, Mercs etc. Look at the old Jag XJ styling back then and look at Jaguar today. What the hell happened?

I did Leon A and was going to go back for Claire B, but didn't yet (and it's been years now). There's good and bad. Good - I have some "new" content left that will make me want to replay the game. Bad - I almost completely forget the layout of RPD and I hate Mr. X so I'm less inclined to torture myself like this.

I did just play RE3R though and it was great, currently playing RE4R now and it's incredible.

The B run adds a new weapon for each character (unique handguns), a different starting point, and an action packed finale. If you enjoyed the first run, I would recommend it. I think the progression is better in B, but you also need to deal with Mr. X more because he shows up earlier (though there is a path that reduces interactions with him by initially avoiding helicopter crash hallway).

P.S. Weapons for Claire are different from Leon as well.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
On XSX the non Spacers Choice edition is best I found.

I'm actually playing the version on PS Plus. The one on Game Pass doesn't have the DLC sadly.

But .. this PS5 port is stuttering like a mother fucker. Don't know if the Xbox version of the Spacers Choice edition is the same, but the original version definitely does not stutter nearly this much.

Legacy of Kain
Haven't played this for years and I forgot how good it is. Sucked in from the very first moment - that intro delivers so much stuff. The atmosphere is perfect with the pouring rain and the ambient sounds. I think Simon Templeman as Kain is one of my favourite performances in gaming, if not across all media. The way he laughs as he slaughters another bandit or creature, the way he delivers his dialogue - amazing. Great selection of spells and items. Great fun making enemies explode with the lightning bolt-type spell. After this I really need to give the Soul Reaver games a proper go; I played the original on the PS1 but didn't play beyond a couple of hours.

Recently completed Indiana Jones. And have been grinding through BO6's multiplayer+Zombies this week.

Just about to get stuck in PoE 2.

Playing City of Brass, a small rouge-like by some of the devs that worked on Bioshock. You can definitely tell its Bioshock heritage by the level design, characters and overall feel.

They made some bizarre decisions that made me hate it at first. Like a countdown timer, booby traps after door entrances, poor descriptions of power-ups, etc. Luckily you can change most of them on the character selection screen, and you end up liking those traps eventually.

What's left is a fun game centered around a whip that you use to pull, push, stun and grab. Think of games where you shoot the red barrel to make it explode. The whole game is designed like that, activating traps to kill enemies indirectly. It's simple but fun and well worth the $2 on sale.

Yeah, thats why I was trying to help. The Spacers Choice was a stuttery mess on all consoles unfortunately. It was even worse at launch if you can believe it. The XSX OG version is best as it has auto HDR and doesn't have the performance issues of Spacers Choice. Pro apparently runs Spacers Choice better, but even then you wont have auto HDR. XSX OG version is where you should be playing.

Just finishing up on Indiana Jones 24 Hours in, superb game one of my goty.

Dunno what to start next, I have Forbidden west and Stalker 2 on my radar.

I picked up on a 2016 Witcher 3 save that I for some reason stopped playing. The game says I apparently have over 220 hours in it, and I was still only level 16. I have no idea why I stopped, it's so good!

Also started Robo Cop: Rogue City. A fun 90s-00s like shooter, with no woke bullshit, enjoying it.

Hardcores a bit of a bastard. Just became a skivvy for Radzig, stepped outside at night just after getting the quests, got busted for not having a torch at night (I don't even have a damn torch). Went to jail. Cutscene kicks in, two hours pass, was arrested again in the cell.. for not having a torch? Spent another 24 hours in jail

Now my stats are utterly, utterly fooked

Yakuza 6: Song of Life. It's nice to be back in Kamarucho again, playing as Kiryu. I played Zero, then Kiwami 1 and 2. I became fatigued with the series at that point and took a long break, but I wanted to play 6 and see how it wrapped up. I haven't played 3, 4, or 5, so I'm missing some of the backstory about the kids and the orphanage, but that's okay. Everything else is so familiar, it's easy to get slotted into the game.

Finished Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster on PS5 Pro - I finished the original version back in 2017 and it became one of my all-time favorites. I do think Forbidden West is a vastly superior game though.

This remaster is excellent which looks amazing and runs very smooth in performance mode on the Pro. I really appreciate all the visual improvements which help with the atmosphere. Great game overall and one of the few game stories I've really ever cared about.

I just wish the gameplay wasn't so "simple" and more engaging with having to hunt the bigger machines like Thunderjaws and Stormbirds for getting the more powerful weapons, armor, increasing storage capacity, etc..Getting the best weapons and armor is just too easy and "cheap" to buy especially in the early part of the game. I only had to go hunt down a Snapmaw for a purple weapon once during the entire game. However most of these issues are remedied in Forbidden West along with better open world events/activities.
