[Thick Thighs Save Lives]

I've been playing a lot of Wuthering Waves on PC ever since I started it a week ago. The combat and traversal are very well done for an open world gacha, and the character designs are some of the best I've seen in a gacha game as well. The music is pretty great too, like in this scene here.



Played it so much that I even managed to save enough pulls to get the current limited banner character, Camellya.

Dying Light

It was on sale for $3.99, randomly bought it and about five hours in. Wow. What the fuck. I have no idea what I had in mind but it wasn't this tight, extremely fun and atmospheric game I'm playing.

I love the setting and soundtrack particularly. Also it started as a bit of a cakewalk but is starting to get pretty challenging, I like that.

Very cool game so far.

Really enjoying it.
Tried starting it a few months back, got distracted, started again.
I like the fact your abilities are rolled out frequently from the beginning, so you can get used to them quickly and determine which ones to upgrade first based on your playstyle/preferences.
Better than games that drip feed you abilities right up till the end of the game, which (some of) will end up being underused as a result.
It's a looker too for such an early xbone release. Surprisingly so.

I’m last dungeon of Dragon Quest III HD-2D (I know I’m slow) but my god! Most of the enemies in dungeon inflect so many status aliments on your party like sleep and sealing magic spells….and sooooo much instant death spells, I don’t think even SMT goes this crazy with Hama and Mudo skills.

I don’t mind it much because even normal encounters can be challenge, if you are not careful your entire party get wipe out…..but this game is not as friendly for newcomers as DQ XI was.

I probably be better off waiting to play more before, but I don't know if I am going to play anymore at all. This has been one of my most anticipated games, and I'm finding it a huge disappointment. :<

We're talking more about it in the PSvr2 thread, and the game has me thinking about the direction of VR games in general. Reports from VR centric outlets are glowing, but if this is one of the best VR games of they year, we're in trouble.

I bailed on Armored Core 6. Just not in the mood for this type of game right now. I don't feel like taking the time to constantly tinker with my mech and the missions were not so fun to where I was compelled to keep going. And I've never played an AC game before so it's still taking me time to adjust to it and some missions I played for 10+ minutes, died and I had to start over at the very beginning. That's what caused me to quit as much as anything, it didn't respect my time. I get why people love the game, but it's not my cup of tea.

Lately I've been focusing on FF7: Rebirth (PS5) - started chapter 13! Very good overall. On the side, I'm also doing trophy cleanup in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (PS4), and I'm 67% done between the main game and DLC. Next up, I will probably continue Hogwarts Legacy (XSX), and do trophy cleanup for Stellar Blade (PS5).

I managed to beat him but god damn he keep putting my party to sleep and even putting the Rousing Ring on my party doesn’t stop it completely. Really pain in the ass boss.

The DQ series loves such jokes on bosses, especially if you are not ready for them and are going through them for the first time and do not know. In the same Dragon Quest XI on the final boss, there is a mechanic that have a debuff that hangs on the characters, if in the presence of this debuff you cast a any Heal, the character receives damage for this amount instead of healing, in such an elegant way you can kill the entire group by unsuccessfully healing

Thankfully you can do same to them, one of my caster has Duplic hat so they cast twice in the row without any extra cost on MP and I cast confusion on Hydra which takes away his turn and damaging himself.

Also Monster Wrangler is really good class, if you have recruited lot of monsters the Monster Pile-On skill will do lot of damage and combined that with Wild Side he will use that skill twice.

Path of Exiles 2 mostly. It's more difficult than most AARPGs but the deep builds and the combat is top tier. Lots of versatility.

Among Ashes released today and loved the demo. Awesome indie multilayered. meta-breaking homage to survival horror. A game within a game.

Since I finished Dragon Quest III HD-2D, I decided to start playing Fantasia.

So far its interesting, they were going for PS1 style JRPG with pre-rendered background and I like you have aim shot to target multiple enemies.

It also has Lost Odyssey style text story with voice acting hand drawn art for background which I really liked......so far so good.

I'm now playing Resident Evil 6, the only game I never played. I never played it because I thought I'd hate it.

Quit out on Cyberpunk. Stuck with it for 10 hours, but it just didn't hook me. Too much tech and tough guys. Didn't like the sterile urban environment. I also felt like the game kept me on a leash even after 10 hours, with all the cutscenes. I'm moving on.

Falling skies: The game

What I expected:
A 7th gen TPS cover based shooter, based on a TV series from the 2010's, where you're fighting hordes of aliens.

What I actually got:
XCOM lite with base management, unit upkeep and sorties with a turn-based grid system.

I'm not even disappointed. Just intrigued and surprised. Reminds me I have to get back to XCOM: Enemy unknown and attempt the platinum some time.

Elden Ring

Still on my second playthrough, as a magic build. Doing all the optional bits, hidden bosses, trophies, etc. Actually managed to beat Elden Beast without help from another player. Still my most hated boss fight in the FROM Software game. Dragonlord Placidusax is a far better, more interesting, and fun battle. Elden Beast should've basically been more like that.

My only complain so far is how they done the “pre-rendered” background, it’s neat idea and looks good when camera is zoomed out but every time the camera gets close to characters the background becomes blurry as fuck.

I have another complaint about this game, a game that was released in 2021 and is available with an Apple Arcade subscription ($7), suddenly started costing $50 in 2024. Square Enix has no conscience at all =)
This is a game from Mistwalker and Hironobu Sakaguchi + Takuto Nakamura, people who put their hand to the FF series and then Lost Odyssey + The Last Story, and they sit and with their talent continue to churn out games for phones for several years, instead of sitting down and making a normal full-fledged game...

Jewel Match: Atlantis Solitaire Collector's Edition continues. I'm on like level 54 or thereabouts in the main mode, and I play the Supersize levels and Match 2 levels in between.

Path of Exile 2 Early Access. I'm falling off very early on. There are reasons.

I'm looking to start Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition on PS5. It says I have about 30 hours into it but I believe a lot of that was idle time. I may as well start over after I do some research on the game.

Destination Paradise - Collector's Edition on PS5. It's a game where they show you a scene and then you have to click on collectibles. I get into some of these.

Hidden Cats in Santa's Realm on PS5. I finished the two main levels and now I get to enjoy the six bonus levels.

I just lost interest in the story overall and was getting bored with the gameplay.

Wave Race, Mario tennis.!.....(but I am also trying to make progress on Broken Sword reforged too!

I love it. They really made work of the campaign with real images and interviews with the marines who where their between the gameplay. The sound quality is amazing.
