Aw damn I was hoping this would get to Page Two before being mentioned.

I just finished this last week and if it wasn't for a) quick battles and b) Sheena's boobies I'd have nothing good to say about the game. Well, OK, at least the voice acting and humor by most of the main people wasn't horrendous but the enemies? Yeesh. The non-skippable text in the optional story scenes was agony too.

Tales of Symphonia is addicitve as hell. Thats what matters.

Metroid Prime 1 +2, The Wind Waker, Smash Bros Melee, REmake, Eternal Darkness. Mario Kart(but you got that), Mario Sunshine is the best or one of the best platformers but it feels short for a Mario game. It is the last stand for true platforming though. Oh F-Zero GX.

Then you have the 'once twas exclusives' like Viewtiful Joe and Monkeyball.

I am a big Animal Crossing fan, but some people hate it. I assume you know the good RPGs since you said "other than".

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Mario Power Tennis
Mario Party ( 6 = 5 > 4 )
Wario Ware Inc.
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Mario Golf: TT
Super Monkey Ball 1+2
F-Zero GX

Those are all the party games, which I find are probably the most enjoyable in the long run.

Metroid Prime/Echoes
Eternal Darkness
Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin 2
PN 03

Are all solid single player experiences.

Mario Kart: Double Dash
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Super Mario Sunshine
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Donkey Konga (only if you buy at least a second bongo-controller)

aw, come on. I can't be the only person who liked Cubivore? (though it does explain it's sales...)

I loved it (and many other already named games) to death, but figured it'd only add to the clutter if I mentioned it again. Yes, though, it's awesome and is definitely worth checking out if you're interested in something a little left-of-center.

Well, I really loved...

Resident Evil (remake)
Luigi's Mansion
Rogue Leader
Wind Waker
Eternal Darkness

Mario Golf (best golf game ever)
Super Mario Sunshine (I've gone back to this game over and over)
Animal Crossing
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil
Metal Gear Solid: TTT (unless you played the original to death)
Zelda: The Wind Waker

Those are all amazing titles. Since you already have Mario Kart I didn't mention that.

Starwars: Rogue leader
Super Mario Sunshine
RE: Remake
Zelda: WW
Animal Crossing

And if you are into multiplayer

Super Smash Bros: Melee

Seems like everybody has already posted the major games that you really should own if you have a gamecube, but I would like to strengthen your belief in Paper Mario and Baten Kaitos. Though they are both turn-based, Paper Mario just asks you to choose your attack, and then basically you do the rest. There are different action queues for attacking and defending. Now to Baten Kaitos. It is more of a typical turn-based RPG, but there is so much strategy infused into choosing your Magnus cards, and creating different decks for your various party members. On top of the excellent gameplay in BK, the music is absolutely stunning and the art style is nothing short of extraordinary.

One question, did you not want us to list Pikmin 1+2 because you're already planning on buying them, or you don't plan on purchasing them?

ok so ended up getting XG3, Wave Race and Paper Mario.

XG3: I didnt really expect this to be good but it was really cheap. Teh game is surprisingly decent. Has fun 2 player co-op and 4 multiplayer races. The sense of speed and Track design is fugging awesome.

Wave Race: Just as Stellar as i remember it. Great game one of my fav racers. One of the most underrated games this gen.

Paper Mario: I Hate i mean HATE turn based RPGs. I am not really Nintendo whore either. I got this game just cause so many ppl said give it a chance in this thread.

Fuck you guys! Im Loving this game. I feel like kicking my own ass for loving this game. I really Dig the art style and the Gameplay. The game has great characters and writing. I havent laughed this much playing a game in a long time. I am enjoying the lack of long winded wannabe Anime cutscenes and a battle system that actualy requires reflexes and some skill.

This game is just great. Tales of symphonia Baten Kaitos and the FF series can kiss my ass. This is how RPGs should be made. Fuck Long tedious Cut scenes.

I realize it's sorta off topic for this thread but....
I'm getting a cube soon (Metroid games primarily) and I'm curious if both Star Wars games are worth owning (leader/strike). Is one significantly better than the other, or do they stand on their own?

Don't listen to the haters: Tales of Symphonia is awesome. More so if you do not like turnbased gameplay, since its an RPG with a combat system twist. Excellent stuff IMO.

Rebel Strike has the previous game in co-op mode as an extra in the game.

The foot missions are ass in rebel strike but the flying missions rock.

I would say anything that's exclusive beyond 9 months is basically "exclusive", because frankly no one gives a shit after six months even.

I'd say ...

"MUST OWN" categorey:

Super Smash Brothers Melee
Resident Evil 4
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2/3 (if you're a Star Wars fan)
Metroid Prime 1/2

"RECCOMENDED" categorey:

Super Mario Sunshine
Pikmin 2
Resident Evil 0
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Tales of Symphonia
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Eternal Darkness
F-Zero GX

I played Tales of symphonia fucking tedious game horrible writing horrible characters, horrible story. Combat was semi fun but movment was jerky co-op mode is a joke cause it only follows one player.

Its an Average game at best.

I wasn't attacking your opinion. But I really, really liked the game. The combat wasn't just fun for me. It was excellent and incredibly fun even after houndreds of encounters. The story really grew on me and I loved the conclussion. And the character development I think was top notch, with the 'z'button dialogue being some of the best implemented options in that sence in a long while. The presentation of the game is also a very big plus and it just seemd like a very well rounded experience and even great for non-rpg players to get into the genere.

Bah face it, you just have a gombella fetish

ADMIT IT.

Yea Paper Mario is truly an awesome game. My GOTY above Halo 2, GTA:SA, and MGS3 now.

I've bought alot of crap based on hype but these are the ones I still play and consider worth the money:

MGS Twin Snakes
Mario Golf
PoP sands of time
Tales of Symphonia
Zelda WW
Viewtiful Joe
Metroid 2
Pikmin 1

I'm a huge Nintendo fan, and I haven't gotten around to Pikmin 2 and Paper Mario yet. The love makes me feel unfaithful.

To the lists

I would consider:

Animal Crossing
Donkey Konga
Metroids
Mario games (sunshine, party, golf, tennis) I'd rent these first.
Zelda
SSBM
F-Zero
Wario Ware
Eternal Darkness

I love all the games you own as well.

Both games if you have nobody else to play with but just Rebel Strike if you can get somebody to play with you in co-op mode. (Rebel Strike in addition to the game itself has the previous version fully included in co-op mode).

It's a good thing the Revolution is going to be backwards compatible. I'm going to have a backlog of GC games to play for quite some time.

The few I consider must-haves:

Monkey Ball
Resident Evil REmake
Resident Evil 4

And although it wasn't my kind of thing, Wind Waker is a greatly crafted game.
