Woah! I used to play Sojourn all the time, I switched over to Duris once it split. Had a few high level chars, but I can't remember now if they were on Sojourn or Duris...

ahah.. sojourn was a ton of fun, and you can definitely see where EQ was influenced by Dikumud n stuff. My main dude was Keithar but I had a ton of characters, couldn't really decide on one. Mostly I remember my friends' conflicts with the admins like Mystara and Lathandar and etc.. never really played Duris though some of my PK friends hung out there.

I used to spend tons of time in that mud. I quitted because it kept shutting down and reopening because of operators dispute.

Holy crap. I played MajorMUD for 3 years or something. I could never have remembered the race was named Kang though! Although, I do remember they were immune to poison.. hah. I remember having little scripts that would circle an area getting exp for you.. hah, until your piece of crap modem disconnected that is.

SyNapSe, where did you play MajorMUD? I rarely bump into anybody who has played it. I'm beginning to wonder if it was only popular in Washington state.. you aren't from the northwest are you?

What do you think the automap feature in zMUD is for?

As I said before...dying sucks.

Am currently level 8 and progressing well for how long I'm playing. Slowly able to get my bearings as well, though a free MUD client with a map would be greatly appreciated (anyone?) As it is, though, SimpleMU is an good little client that offers the best interface of all the clients Ive tried so far. (I've heard numerous times that zMUD is supposed to be the best, but it crashes on me and is a trial anyway)

Now...about the dying. When you die, you drop your gold and some items (which is why you should put that shit in your backpack, I guess) Anyway...I just witnessed someone try to kill a gnome woman and get his ass kicked. I then proceeded to 'earn' over 400 gold.
