What is the next ‘MAJOR’ game coming out?

Doesn't even have to be a game you are personally looking forward to or like, but a game that you think will be the talk of the town and score 9's and 10's across the board. Feels like we're far away from a big one.

Right now Dead Space and Resident evil 4 are the next big AAA games but they are remakes. I doubt they will have a lot of people dropping everything they're doing to go play them. It will mostly be returning audience rushing out to buy it.

I do think RE4 Remake will have a lot of people drop what they're doing to play it. In my view that is the next major game release.

Street Fighter 6 would be the next heavy hitter.

Hogwarts then re4 then suicide squad and finally ff16.

Then starfield whenever it comes out.

Hogwarts Legacy like everyone has said, it's going to get people that don't even know what a Hogwarts is and maybe not convert them, but sell an awesome game to them.

I'd go with this too. If its a properly done remake like RE2 Remake, and not 3. After that, The Legend of Zelda TOTK.

every time i check the COming Soon section on the xbox store.....its Hogwarts Legacy as the only stand out. The rest is indie games and remakes. They just added street fighter to the coming soon section like today or yesterday. And theres a version thats $104 for some reason

Re4 remake or stat field.
I have no ide why people are excited about Harry Potter of all things. It was a movie of my teens and I don't get it

Probably starfield considering the track record for the guys doing Hogwarts is ehh somehow more questionable that Bethesda

I am personally looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy, Starfield, and [this will be a more niche thing] PSVR2 + the Horizon VR game

The Hogwarts game is looking good in all the gameplay showcases so far, but i will hold off till my trusted reviewers (ACG, Skillup, plus a few others) tell me how the game is. Starfield......may melt my 1080Ti, so im nervous about that one, just have to wait and see.

You could argue that the whole point of most video games is escapism and having fun like a child again. Harry Potter books are now definitely too juvenile for me, but a single player game in that universe lets me experience the world of Harry Potter once again with the same sense of wonder that the books gave me as a child.

Talk of the town? Definaltey not Dead Space or RE4. Hogwarts maybe, the JK rowling stuff might give it a boost. Starfield either for being really bad or realy good pretty likely.

I don't get it either, generation zero, just cause 4 and the hype train is at full steam ahead for potter.

I feel like Final Fantasy XVI will be that game that scores 90+ and becomes a critics' and users' darling. It just looks so damn good!

Hogwart's Legacy will also be fun, but I also feel it'll have several issues and performance problems that will bring it down a notch.

I think Starfield. I don't see any The last of us, God of War, Cyberpunk type of AAAA game until Starfield.

I know new Zelda will be +90 and I will play it, but I was referring to games with insane production values.

Maybe S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl for me. Which, fingers crossed, will release some time in 2013, if the developers are doing ok.

Fire emblem or octopath 2 (if we are talking low 9's) in terms of score. Probably REmake 4 in terms of sales.

ToTK, Starfield, SFVI, and FFXVI in summer.

Edit: honestly, come to think of it. Though not AAA. I actually expect the P3, and P4G ports to probably average out to a high 8 or low 9 review score.

RE4 came out 17 years ago. There are legions of gamers who have never played it and may have started with RE2 Remake. RE4 Remake will be totally new to gamers from early teens to mid 20s. It will be a huge release.

For the first 6 months of next year it's probably something like this:

Hogwarts Legacy
Jedi Survivor
Resident Evil 4
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Street Fighter VI
Final Fantasy XVI

I'd never guess Resident Evil 4 Remake would get so much anticipation. I played the PC version with improved graphics back in 2010 and I thought it was a good game but not really a "cultural phenomenon".
The "Ultimate HD Edition" released on the PC, PS4 and XBOne just 6 years ago. After RES2 and RES3 remakes I was expecting a RES4 remake as well, but I wasn't expecting it to be so popular.

RES5 is also fine for a remake down the road (though black zombies are probably going to be replaced), but I wonder if Capcom is ever going to remake RES6.

I think Fire Emblem Engage has a chance to be the first game of the year to get 90 on Metacritic, but it won't have the sales to count as MAJOR. That will be Hogwarts Legacy.

Clearly starfield.

It's fucking skyrim in space, this shit can only be obscured by a gta6 announcement.

Not sure how people are choosing stuff like re4 remake or jedi survivor over a main bethesda release.

(And i don't even care about bethesda games)

I have many games that I'm planning to buy but *major* I guess Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Final Fantasy XVI and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Hogwarts Legacy will definitely be a major release. I assume people like me who didn't read HP won't play it at all, BUT a ton of people have read (and loved) the books and it's been a while since the last big HP game. It's going to sell big no matter how good it'll end up being.

RE4R is also going to be a big release, likely even bigger than RE2R.
