Whether it be local or global , what is your most enjoyable experience with a multiplayer game? I love FFXIV and I am really enjoying WoW but my favorite multiplayer experience is probably not something most people would pick... My favorite is Dokapon Journey:

I have so many fond memories playing this with 2 of my closest friends during my early 20's. We would play at their house (they were brothers) until 3am every weekend.

Probably counter strike 1.3-1.6, and original halo. Course, have to give some love to one of the first multiplayer games that was ever taken seriously, Street Fighter 2.

Welcome to Ota. The D is mute.

Besides than Warcraft 3, CS 1.0-1.6 (the bunny hopping era was something else)

I cannot pick. Theres too many great ones.

WoW. Been playing on and off since Vanilla. The only expansion I skipped entirely was Shadowlands.

Counter-Strike, especially the first. Dont really care about which version it was, as long as it was the original mod for HL. Was really great, and while I still play CS2 a little, the charm of the original is sadly long gone.

CoD 4 Modern Warfare is in my book as an all time CoD fav, but sadly it hasnt aged that well. Theres great maps, but there were more bad than great ones.

Diablo II. Ive wasted so many hours of my youth in that game. I also did a bit on D2R, but idk. The game is the goat, but I've been there before and done it all.

Theres probably many more that I have forgotten about.

CS 1.6 & Source
MH series mostly 3rd portable, MHR, GU (though not so long)
Unreal Tournament 2004
First Borderlands
Mario kart DS and 8D

if fighting is counted, then KoF up to 2000 and SF zero

and I don't know which one is the best from that list...

Souls games - whether it was being summoned to help other players, PVP shenanigans, or playing with friends - I had a great time. Also enjoyed RE5 and 6 for coop and RE6 for the various PVP options. There was one where you could play as a creature and it was incredibly fun.

Ultima Online.

It was an experience that has never been replicated

Expect a swarm of shooters, I promise you the halos, gears of wars, meanwhile for Sony certainly gen 7 had multiplayer games happening like Killzone 2, ps home had good multiplayer, little big planet, uncharted 2. Nintendo don't be confused, and credit to their multiplayer games like Mario kart, and Mario party.

I'll go

Well, let me list the candidates:

Goldeneye (aka "Bond" which is what we called it) I also loved Perfect Dark

Halo 2 & Halo Reach

Gears of War 3

Battlefield 4

Titanfall 1

It's definitely BATTLEFIELD 4 for me! I played this for almost 8 years and around 1500 hours. I've played and loved every Battlefield from Bad Company 2 to 2042 currently...but Battlefield 4 will always be the most special to me.

The most fun I have ever had playing a multiplayer game was in Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360. For about a nine month period, I played every single night that I was off from work with a core group of people, and we all met playing the game. It was glorious and no multiplayer experience has ever come close to that since then.

Team Fortress Classic by far. I miss my red dot of doom and messing around with my clan with things like floating sentries, using snipers to get to glitch spots, opening CD trays of unexpecting people with admin commands etc. Or a good conc map for a change of pace. Good times.

If I had to choose a single one it would be Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2009) in all of its broken glory. I want the broken ass ACR, I want the pre patch akimbo 1887s, I want the Javelin glitch with people yelling Allah Akbar over their mics, I want the barrage of 2009 political incorrectness in lobbies.

Shout out to:
  • COD 4
  • Halo 3
  • Halo Reach
  • Battlefield Bad Company 2
  • Battlefield 3
  • Battlefield 4
  • SOCOM 3
  • Killzone 2
  • Uncharted 2
  • and motherfucking M.A.G.
Edit: Added two more shout outs since Fahdis Fahdis reminded how much I loved them.

Back in 360 days there was only one multiplayer that I genuinely enjoyed.
