I just can't play only 1 game for 3 months. I'd go insane. Not saying that's weird, just me personally I couldn't do it.

I also struggle playing one game for a long timeframe. I wish I wasn't like that, but I need variety. It wouldn't even work as a back burner game when I'm playing other games.

The last story game I put 100 hours into was Breath of the Wild, but I was playing it every chance I could get over the course of 3-4 weeks. Most games don't bite me like that.

I think 10-30 hours is my sweet spot. 40+ is too much and I start getting antsy wondering when the game will be over. Usually another game will grab my attention and that's it.

I would say 20-40 hours but only because I prefer to play story-driven RPGs so they need to be a decent length for characterisation, skill levelling and plot etc. 30 hours is the sweet spot though where I feel I have got my money's worth out of a £50 game (that I likely got for £35 on CDKeys.com / Loaded!).

There are exceptions though with games like Baldur's Gate 3, Skyrim and Oblivion where I played for 150+ hours and never felt like the games were too long. Those experiences are pretty rare though as there are some games that overstay their welcome... Starfield for example... played that travesty for 180 hours and hated it!!!

180? phew

Finished Starfield in 50 hours. Started the NG+ or whatever to see what changed (IYKYK) and then quit.

???? It's not that much of a mystery you just take longer to complete them.

Playing 1 hour a night a 100 hour game will take 3 months.

Some players see that as value for money.
I played Elden Ring as my first souls game & totally blackout from media, tutorials & YouTube.
Needed 2 months to finish it.
Best experience from all games I played till now.

It really just depends on the game. I've put like 70 hours into Clair Obscur since May and am working on a NG+ run and I'm not bored yet. I just played Resident Evil 5 over 12-15 hours and that felt an hour or two long and I'm not interested in playing anything outside of the single player campaign. But I also enjoyed the game. So it just depends I guess.
