Doesn't IE (with that update) have a built-in pop-up blocker (when you go to Internet Properties, then Privacy and click on 'Pop-up Blocker Settings' after checking 'Block Pop-ups')?

I use that and it works fine.

I get about 2-3 popups a day now even with Firefox and the feature enabled.

I've had 3 popups with firefox. All on the same site. Damn crack site. hehe
If it's the one that sounds like a former 'popular' search engine, then I get them there too. Then again, those type of sites seem to be able to exploit FF a lot.

Firefox. I've had a popup or two, but nothing like I would get with IE even with WinXP SP2. There's simply no comparison.

Question : I recently accidentally "allowed popups" for newgrounds on Firefox, I didn't mean to do it and I don't know how to undo it. Any tips?

Web Features in Options. There is a section for allowed sites.

It's been said, but maybe you need to hear it again. Firefox.

I had ZoneAlarm, Norton 2005 -- and between those I was pretty much pop-up free...

but Windows XP Service Pack 2 has obliterated ALL pop ups, and it doesn't even run activex controls without my say so. It's awesome.

Is there anyway to make Firefox startup faster? I hate the time it takes to open.
It should load up immediately, way faster than IE. However, I know what you're talking about, since I had a problem once where Firefox took from 10-30 seconds to load, and I couldn't figure it out at all. I ended up having to format for other reasons, and a new Firefox installation always loaded the browser instantly. Mozilla has no clue what does this, I assume, just like the other never-mentioned problem of a lot of people not being able to access addons.mozilla.org at all.

Firefox. Admuncher. Pop-ups are for newbs!11!! LOLMYPENISISHUGE

Stop-The-Pop-Up is king folks. You can download the free "30 day demo", but if you check the box for it to boot at start-up it circumvents the trial period. The only way a window pops up is when I want by holding shift.

When I used IE, I just used the Google toolbar. I use FireFox now.

Just wanted to point out that you don't have to go to FireFox to get built-in popup blocking. Mozilla or Netscape works fine for me too.

I decided to try out Firefox and just got a pop-up. :lol

My guess is that Firefox is simply overrared. :)
Are you sure that you don't already have some kind of spyware on your computer that would launch a pop-up? Because I haven't gotten a pop-up in about a year and a half (at least no pop-ups that I didn't open up myself).

They are all the same thing. Same rendering core, same technlogy, same routines for blocking popups :)
