What RPGs do you look forward to in 2005?

As of now, I look forward to DQVIII, ToL and FFXII. For strategy RPGs I look forward to Fire Emblem GC. Also FFIII for DS.

Final Fantasy XII of course, as well as Fire Emblem.
If the Final Fantasy III remake comes out for the DS this year
and is as good as it should be, add that as well.

I'm currently enjoying Xenosaga Episode II.

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to Final Fantasy XII (of course!), Digital Devil Saga and Kingdom Hearts II.

On the ones that'll reach here for sure:
Final Fantasy XII
Kingdom Hearts II
Dragon Quest VIII
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana
Radiata Stories
Phantom Kingdom

And hopefully these will be localized too
Magna Carta
Popolocrois Monogatari
Dragon Force

so far,

Fire Emblem Souen no Kiseki
TearRing Saga 2
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy XII
Atelier Iris
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Final Fantasy III DS

i'm sure i'll get other games once I learn about them though

I'm actually kinda pissed that Atelier Iris is coming out here (Hey, I spent $60 on a RPG in Japan that I thought would have little chance of hitting our shores).
But, I'm definitely snagging Digital Devil Saga, FFXII (god help us), and DQVIII. Radiata Stories looks nice, and maybe we'll be blessed with the Romancing Saga remake. Kingdom Hearts II should be enjoyable, and Fire Emblem will be welcomed.
Biggest excitement though is FF3 remake for the DS and Egg Monster Heroes. I'm fucking psyched for them.

Digital Devil Saga 1
Digital Devil Saga 2

Romancing Saga Minstrel Song (Hey, we've been getting every other SaGa game lately, so why shouldn't this come here?)

Yes, I'm quite the whore for this genre. :P

Digital Devil Saga is most my anticipated RPG. I love my Megaten.

Wild Arms 4th Detonator looks very interesting and would probably get the runner-up spot if I knew it would be out in English this year. Failing that, Alter Code F takes the second space :)

I'm sure I'll pick up DQ VIII and maybe Stella Deus and the next Fire Emblem as well. FF XII should be good if it ever comes out. Radiata Stories is also a possibility - I wasn't interested in it at first but the positive impressions about it on GAF have gotten me a little more interested. (I like games that aren't so linear.)

edit: Whoops! Forgot Atelier Iris. I might be interested in that too... I'm not too excited, but if it's good enough, I may pick it up.

edit 2 (after looking at Scott's list): if the Phantasy Star remakes ever come out, I'm definitely getting those

Scott did you just list every RPG coming out, or are you seriously buying all that? :P
:lol No, that isn't every RPG coming out. Not even close. I took off all the DS & PSP titles that are little more than 'announced' at this point, some multiplatform titles, some titles I thought had absolutely zero chance of coming here (Ys remakes, Zwei!!, etc), and of course the platform agnostic titles... Overall, I'd say I cleaved off over 60+ games. :P

As for "buying all that"? Everything that hits the US, sure.

Don't get me wrong, though, I wouldn't buy all of those at full price (probably only about a dozen or so, to be honest). I'm just half a collector, and half a zealot that wants to play every US released RPG out there. :P

So far I'm kind of off to a slow start, but given that the majority of those (I'd say 160-165; not all RPGs, though) were bought since mid-'98, I'm not doing too bad. Still have a lot of platforms to dive into and games to pick up, though. But I'm sure I'll get there someday.

Jade Empire
TES: Oblivion
Ys Ark of Napishtim
Fire Emblem GC
Mother 3 (If it doesn't come out I'll just play through Earthbound again)

Jade Empire
Quite possibly Fire Emblem GC.
I don't know what, but it's very likely I'll pick one up for PSP.
And FFXII I'll be watching.

1. Tie Fire Emblem GBA and GC --> Every rpg fan needs to play the first Fire Emblem game now!
2. Kingdom Hearts 2 --> Really interested in seeing what happens with the story here. They better keep Haley and the rest of the voice actors. Probably the best voice acting ever in a game. Normally when they try to do anything other then a serious voice in a videogame it is horrible and not believable at all, but the voice acting was perfect in the first game. You really felt for all the characers. Hope it wasn't a fluke. :D
3. FF12 --> Lukewarm on FFX and I really despised Tidus. I have a good feeling on this FF though, can't explain it but I feel it will turn out to be great. :D

All the Fire Emblem vets always tell me that the GBA version isn't even close to the older versions and considering how much I loved this version I am dying to see what the new games are like. Fire Emblem > *. :D

Definite:
Digital Devil Saga
Digital Devil Saga 2
DQVIII
Dragon Quest VIII
Shining Force Neo
Phantasy Star Trilogy
Dragon Force

Maybe:
FFXII
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim
Radiata Stories
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana II
Phantom Kingdom
Stella Deus

Gamecube:

Fire Emblem

Game Boy Advance:

Mother 3
Fire Emblem II

PS2:

Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana
Far East of Eden III
Final Fantasy XII
Kingdom Hearts II
Namco X Capcom

Xbox:

Jade Empire

Nintendo DS:

Final Fantasy III
Pokemon Pearl/Diamond
Advance Wars DS

If they're released here this year.

Interested? All of them (except perhaps a few on Scott's list). I would probably have purchased about 20 or more if I were in the same circumstances I was about 2-3 years ago when I had plenty of free time or last summer when I was sick and couldn't work for about 2 months.

Now, I'll have to play anything from Square Enix and I will probably buy both Fire Emblems and Ys (not sure which version). If Popolocrois were to make it over, I would probably go for that as well.
