What services does Diskeeper need?

DKService should be running in your task manager.

If it's not you may have accidentally stopped it from running, either by task manager or in the MSconfig start up.

It should be enabled in start/run/msconfig/services menu and start/run/msconfig/start up menu :)

If you're running XP, then forget about Diskkeeper. XP Defrag IS Diskkeeper IIRC. Anyway, I wasn't aware any defragger needed other windows services. Maybe task scheduler...maybe BITS, but I don't know. I've shutdown a ton of services in the past and still had defrag operate properly. My only suggestion is to check your Event Viewer log and see if it mentions the specific service or at least program that's missing. Hopefully it's not svchost.exe b/c then it could be anything. If I was to make a guess based on your services.msc file, I'd say Performance Logs service might be it, but I've never found a use for it, and I too have it disabled with no problems. Good luck. PEACE.

That's true it is bundled inside of XP, but it's Diskeeper lite, and you usually have to run it several times in a row for a full defrag.
