It kinda pisses me off that people would get irritated by folk who are just trying to do their job.
Not that I like this job at TRU, but I need it at the moment. And if I'm not seen at least attempting to interact with the customer every now and again, keep it I won't.
Anyway,
I avoid Wal-Mart because I'm not comfortable in that store, and their not exactly good folk either.
I avoid a local Game Stop because the bitch manager said shit about me to her co-worker in front of me because I wanted my money back on a reserve that they hadn't gotten in that day, and EB already had it for hours.
I also try to avoid a local game shop just because they're asshats in my opinion.
First, they won't acknowledge you at all when you enter a store. Now if this is a big ass store, whatever, but if I enter a tiny shop, and say "How ya doin?" or some simple shit to the shop-keep, at least grunt or something, don't look at me and turn away like I'm some shit, I'm your fucking customer.
Second, watch your conversations in public. I'm looking at some games, and these guys running the store are talking about shit like the smell of this one girl's vagina, with like two six year olds or so right near them. There's a place for everything.
third, try to know your shit. A friend was picking up a Super Nintendo, and the guy there was trying to convince him to buy a 64 instead, because you don't have to blow into the carts, and sometimes the carts don't stick down when you push them (you know, the staple NES problems, even though we were talking about a SNES). Then proceeded to tell us they've been selling like hot-cakes (the N64s), and I don't live in the store, but I've been there with enough frequency to know that stack of N64s were only collecting dust.
Haven't been back yet.
