When will they ban Zoos? I canät fucking understand them, and it's not just the ones that abuse their animals. All Zoos are just bizzare to me.

I understand zoos as a way to protect some species while also gaining some supporters from the visitors. I'm not sure how they operate but I'd hope that'd be one of the reasons.

If this happened somewhere in America, would you title the thread "What the ****ing ****, America?"

Serious question.

Probably.

Some zoos work very hard to preserve a healthy environment for the animals, sort of like a smaller nature preserve.

There are some awesome zoos near me. Animals have good sized enclosures, cared for and enables the public to learn and see animals they normally wouldn't.

I've seen animal cruelty all over Asia during my travels there. I've seen a monkey being beaten in Jakarta, I've seen dogs being attacked by a group of Thai people in Bangkok, I've seen an old woman throwing scolding hot water on cats in Saigon, and so on. I could probably list another 40 or 50 examples of the fucked up things I've seen there.

They just have a different mindset when it comes to animals. It's the way they're brought up. Animals are considered little more than pests to a lot of the people out there.

I thought this video was particularly bad, though. Those guys are pretty fucked in the head.

I agree with the sentiment that human rights are important, but I don't see why you can't promote two important causes at the same time.

Because people will not see the reason animals should be treated like humans. We living in the West have it ingrained since our childhood that you should treat animals with respect and harming animals is not only frowned upon but also punished by law.

In most Asian countries they are just catching up to us regarding human rights issues like child labour. And for most people, accepting that a child has rights is something completely new. You can't change everything at once, people will not accept too many sudden changes.

There are so many wtf america threads that are created on neogaf weekly. Are you new here? I don't see why china gets to be exempted from such title creation.

Isn't there an on-going Germany-Australia-Florida thing? I don't like it either, but I don't think China is being singled out.

Anyway, not clicking the video. Is the animal ok?

I sincerely doubt it. I fastforwarded it because I couldn't watch it for four minutes.
I think I saw a wound on its head, and it was hanging very quietly.

I heard someone say it still moved...but to behonest I can't imagine it survived for long after that.

Please tell me, what was so unclassy about that sentence?

It made the implication that everyone who disagreed with you had down syndrome. Or at the very least a critical gap in their empathy which prevented them from being an exemplary child, such as yourself.

Generally, it was very condescending and rather unnecessary.

No, it would be "What the fucking fuck, Florida?" or whichever state's residents did something stupid.

What was your question trying to illustrate?

Before you can have animal rights, you must establish human rights first.

I know understand what he meant when he said he's a template for a child :b

From my experience in Asia, animals only have two purposes: to be eaten or to look cute in some way so that they can have their picture taken

I'm desensitized to majority of things on the web (Shock videos, Gore pics, Gore videos, etc...) but I cannot do animal killings or torture... Just can't....

I suddenly remember that one video of some kids in an Eastern country who put a tiny dog on fire.

I still hear those screams :(

I didn't expect to be as disgusted as I was watching that... that was truly over the line. Piece of scum assholes on a power trip. I feel bad for the conditions those animals are living in.

are you saying you can deal with human killings or torture but not animals?

I'd say that's normal among the hardcore web adventurers unfortunaly.

Imagine, one more step and you are immune to everything!

They're just kids man, it's normal for kids to do that stuff. As long as they're sorry about it when they get older.

are you saying you can deal with human killings or torture but not animals?

Correct. I've seen forums with videos such as "Cat microwaved" or "Horses Gutted" and I say "mmmm....I'm alright". Weird I know...

The only human video to have me sick and depressed for days was the Uniport Jungle Justice video. Imagine this video only with Humans...UGHH!!!

uh what? its normal for stupid little shitkids. I knew from an early age that it was not okay to harm conscious living beings, be it animals or other humans,

Some people in this thread seem to think shit like that is normal, just saying.

You need to learn to read and comprehend. And to chill out.

Animal abuse is never acceptable, it was just noted that it is not:
A. a rare occurence among kids.
B. a certain indication that they are mentally challenged like you suggested

If we look at it the other way around, kids who are themselves abused by their parents or friends are more likely to abuse animals. Most studies I've seen about it conclude that it's completely a social phenomena and that about 99% of kids who abuse animals are male.

I'm actually reading one research right now, it's quite interesting.
