What to do in Seattle?

Heading over to watch the Seahawks-Falcons game this Sunday and probably gonna stay 4 or 5 days at the Olympic. What should I definately go see/do/eat considering I've never really had the time to explore? Appreciated.
 
I've been there before... the aquarium is pretty cool, and you should definitely check out the Seattle Underground. Also, a trip to the top of the Space Needle is a must. There are a lot of unique restaurants throughout the city.

Seattle is a really cool place, though... you will like it there.
 
Pike Place Market is pretty cool if you're heading over by the aquarium as well. Like a big flea market/farmer's market. Lots of restaurants nearby as well.
 
What kind of food do you like?

Are you interested in books?

The University Bookstore is a cool place.. and walking around the U-district in general is alright.. lots of great food.

Gameworks is pretty cool downtown.. a bit pricey but can be fun if you've never experienced one of the new super-arcades.
 
Not too big on books, I mean I read em and all but ones I find at the thrift store do me well. The aquarium sounds rad but I'm looking for more like good brew pubs, restaurants (I eat anything), shopping for the woman and the other random things that I should be doing when I'm there. Thanks for the advice so far.

Gordon Birsch at Pacific Place is a fine place to grab a meal and a freshly brewed mug.

If you are looking for lots of drunks at night go down to Pioneer Square.

The waterfront has some great seafood restaraunts.. nice to walk around anyways.. you can't miss it.. just head down the hill ;)

You could also catch a Mariner's game.. the stadium is pretty nice in general to walk around in.

In fact.. right near Daniel's are a couple of other good spots.."Joey's" is pretty good for an upscale place.. and the girls at Hooter's on lake union are quality ;)

You also might check out Westlake Center.. just go to Pacific Place and walk around that entire area.. it's pretty much the shopping distric.

If you can find it, go to a restaurant called Minnie's It's very kitchsy but has some awesome food. Be warned though, the bathroom looks like CBGB lite. It is perfect late night eating as I believe they are open 24/7. Don't let the decor fool you, the food is F'n great.

Here's the thing: if you want to try one of the most succulent burgers, the best omellettes, the greatest homebaked goods and the most fantastic cream of tomato soup ever, this is the place for you.

If you want to be personally entertained by very friendly, animated and fun cast of characters that is the wait staff, this is also the place for you.

BUT you need to be able to look past the filthy carpet, the grimy walls with peeling paint and the ripped-up, gum encrusted chairs. Being a gen-x girl, the whole Seattle grung thing really appealed to me and my husband, but our 13 year old daughter was so grossed out by the general filth that she was afraid to eat. And believe me, I'm no Martha Stewart at home, she's not a stuck up snob.

The food was so delicious at this place that I felt like shouting "For crying out loud, raise your prices and thrown on a coat of paint!"

I would have gladly paid more.

It's all about the Five Point for 24/7 diner food. As long as you're 21+.

"Wondering where to get a drink when the liquor starts to flow again at 6AM? Cruise down to the Five Point, but don't expect to find an empty stool. Hidden in the shadow of the Space Needle, this 24-hour cafe is an institution among Seattle dive bars. While the rest of Belltown checked in for trendy face lifts, the Five Point held on to its street cred and still remains one of the area's roughest watering holes. Fights are not uncommon, but years of dealing with them has taught the staff how to leap bars and move them out the door before you really know what's going on. The morning crowd consists of graveyard workers, urban hipsters who haven't found their beds and the usual crew of professional drinkers. Afternoons and evenings are anybody's guess. If Bloody Marys are your thing, you can't get much better in the city -- same goes for the unique view of the Space Needle from the men's restroom."
 
The Amazon HQ should actually be within sight of the QWest Field where the Seahawks play. I forget how the buildings and hill between them sit though.. you might get blocked, but it's pretty close.

Anyhow, Seattle is a pretty nice place to play Advance Wars DS or browse Gaming Age.

Amazon is moving out of the old hospital building and into FAB downtown, actually.
 
If you want Brewpubs, go to the Redhook brewery. Or the Pyramid Alehouse. Pyramid is right next to Safeco/Qwest, but Redhook is a little farther away (Woodinville) but it's awesome. For $1, (since they are out of taster glasses currently) you get a plastic pint cup, and get five half pints of beers. I suggest it.

What the fuck? Anyone from Seattle knows Beth's by Greenlake is the city's reigning 24 hour greasy spoon. You guys must not be from around here.

Born and raised in Auburn, lived in Seattle for the last few years. We've been to Beth's once, and really enjoyed it, especially the hash browns. But, my fiance and I love going to the Five Point. Part of it's appeal to us is the fact that it's a total dive bar/diner, and that we look like yuppies for the most part. We don't fit in with the average person who comes in, but we've become regulars and it doesn't really matter. Plus, it's a lot closer to our house in Queen Anne than Greenlake.
 
Anything north of Renton I'm clueless about. I once got lost trying to find a Target in Redmond for an hour or two... turned out all I had to do was get on 520 and go east until it apparently ends right in front of the Target.

Then I went into the Target and they didn't have what I was looking for.

I graduated Auburn Riverside in '02. I live in Yakima right now, but I'm moving to Kirkland in Oct.

Small world. I did my psych practicum over in Yakima last year when I was at Central getting my Masters degree.

Haha, I took classes there all last year part time in the mornings in Shaw. Never near that psych building though...
