What Xbox360 games are you getting a launch?

I just recently made the decision to get on the Xbox360 ship earlier then I would have. I have to absolutely have the best looking hockey game this season now that my penguins got a super-prospect in Sidney Crosby.

So anyway, I'm trading away lots of games by taking advantage of the Gamestop extra 50% coupon right now.

I have the following games I will get at launch.

DOA4
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
NHL2k6
Saints Row (assuming it gets a decent score, such as an 8- I love sandbox type of games)


My questionables are the following games
Perfect Dark 0
99 Nights
Project Gotham Racing
Full Auto
Madden 06 - I used to play NFL2k series exclusively and haven't played a Madden game since the Genesis days.

Perhaps I'll splurge and get all of them.... who knows. What is looking like must have for you at launch right now?
 
Which games will be available at launch? I have no idea, I won't get PGR3 or PDZ that's for sure. What else is there?

Hard to decide coz I'm only gonna end up buying 1 or 2 x360 titles this year anyway - but these are the games I'm interested in:
Project Gotham 3
Perfect Dark 0
Elder Scrolls IV
Saint's Row - it actually looked like an ok GTA clone...
Dead or Alive 4
 
Madden '06 is the only game I reserved with the X360.





I'll probably pickup one of the FPS titles. Still undecided if it'll be PDZ, Ghost Recon, or Call of Duty2.
 
The Outfit = Cool mix of Mercenaries and Battlefield 1942 with destructible environments = I AM THERE :D

Frame City Killer = this looks too cool, I have fallen in love with after watching the first gameplay video x_x

Saint Row = I love GTA and this looks like a good GTA copycat, I am there!


That's what I would get if I had the money but I don't think I will be able to afford X360 anytime soon :(

Fair enough, but it's not the lineup that's lacking.

I can only get a couple games at launch, so it's only Oblivion and PDZ for me.
 
The graphics in the Saint's Row video impressed and all of the physics and destruction seemed cool.
I forgot about The Outfit. Is it a launch title?

I really can't say I'll probably be broke after purchasing the console. I'll have to hook it up to my TV and tape up a huge screen shot of Elder scrolls Oblivion.
 
for me it's just oblivion and maybe PD0 if it ends up being great... thats only two games so i may end up waiting a little after launch before i buy one... on the other hand, oblivion should offer months of gaming all by itself.
 
Not buying one at launch since none of the games seem like they're worth buying a system for given what we've seen thus far. Too Human's release is prolly when I'll be picking up anXbox 360.

Bah! Part of the whole 'new console experience' is the post-launch drought which has you buying almost any crappy game that's released just to tide you over. Plus, has he not heard about Microsoft's exciting limited backwards compatibility program?
 
I'm kind of bummin' that there's not more, but at the moment I'm looking forward to Dead or Alive 4, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero (maybe), Resident Evil 5, Gears of War (maybe), and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Need for Speed: Most Wanted looks decidedly shiny as well.

Also forgot about Need4Speed Most wanted...that one might be a purchase..

Oh...also forgot about Test Drive Unlimited....might want to rent that one too..

They have shown absolutely NOTHING from any of the games on 360 that make any of them look interesting. Hell, they've barely shown anything.
 
I just traded in about 20 games and got over 400 bucks worth of credit with the 50% extra coupon.... (some new, lots of games from last fall) It is a pretty good deal, but only lasts til the end of the month. It is nice getting a next gen system for free.

Word to the wise, this is already known, but the gamestop employees were telling me that all the games are going to be $60 bucks. Now normally I would just buy them all at Best Buy with the save $5 coupon, but I don't think they are going to except a coupon on 360 stuff unless they come out with a new one.

Xbox systems are currently trading in at 70 bucks over there, but they have a deal where you get an extra 20% if you go for 360 stuff. I have to think that Xbox systems are going to drop in price even more the next weeks to come (That is what happened to PS systems & Dreamcasts)

So it looks like I am going to have enough trade in credit to get the 360 and the following games:

Full Auto
DOA4
Madden06
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Saints Row
Perfect Dark 0

Not a bad launch! It isn't my record though, I got a dreamcast with 8 games at launch 5 years ago!

Let's see, how to cover this. Just to cap it off, I don't care for Microsoft's "limited" BC. All it does is annoy me, as it guarantees I can't trade in my XBX until it's 95% BC. I play tons of games, including obscure ones, so it does not instill confidence in me. Put that aside anyway. Because it has nothing to do with why I'm not getting any system at launch.

Reasons I am not getting any system at launch...

• This is the first gen where absolutely no system has sold me on it yet. There's various reasons for this, but since I'd rather it not be scrutinized by raving fanboys I'll just leave it at that.
• This current gen is having an incredible finish out. If I adopt early, I'll miss out on so many games I want because I simply won't have the money. Assuming best case scenario is that 360 is 299 and PS3 is 299-349, it's too expensive a prospect to me for too limited a reward as launches and post-launch droughts go.
• I'm still waiting to see how the pieces fall. I need more info from Nintendo, more info from Sony and final plans from Microsoft. As I'm going to be adopting in no particular order, I haven't decided which I'll get first until the announcements become more solid.

There's more, but I'm tired of typing of this response already.
 
All I can say for now are DOA4, PDZ, and PGR3.

Ironically, EB games forced me to buy an xbox bundle with DOA3, Halo, and PGR back in 2003 :P

I'm planning to subscribe to gamefly and use that as a sort of trial, going thru all of the other titles and buying those that I really like (especially if they have great live play).

Will probably get Oblivion when I complete PDZ.
