What's the best TACTICAL shooter out right now [360]?

I bought a launch 60gb PS3 and I had only Rainbow Six for the first few months... and honestly, it was all I needed. I loved, loved, loved that game. Once I jumped to CoD, though, I forgot all about it. My PS3 died when MW2 came out, so I jumped over to the 360. Since then I have only bought CoD/Battlefield games as well as Halo: Reach. Well, I'm itching for some more tactical F/TPS in my life, and I want to know if there's anything out there worth getting. So, GAF, recommend away!

It's pretty action packed for a tactical game, but if you liked R6: Vegas definitely check out Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. It's a third person shooter with a focus on customizing your load out, taking a smart approach to firefights and commanding your squad.

It's probably dirt cheap by now.

EDIT - just noticed you said FPS, but whatev.

Edited now. Also, do you think anyone even plays online anymore? :/

R6V2?
It's not as good as R6V1 actually so don't bother. Battlefield BC2 is the closest I've found.

<- Former R6V1 addict.

Yea, I own BFBC2 and I was playing it for a while last night, but I can do without the tanks/choppers. They're cool and all, but when your team sucks its really easy to get steamrolled by a decent team on tanks.

Rainbow Six and GRAW are pretty much all there is. Operation Flashpoint games aren't worth the bother imo.

You can certainly have some tactical battlefield experiences in Halo and Crysis 2 though. Co-op modes like Spec Ops in MW2 and Splinter Cell Conviction are also a great time for two. GRAW 2 co-op missions and Bad Company 2 onslaught missions were great for more players.

I felt that despite the multiple bugs, Operation Flashpoint was actually decent for a semi-realisitic tactical shooter. Not that I'd EVER want to go through it again, mind you.

As far as actual teamwork goes, I'd say Bad Company 2 is still the best although you already have it. I wish there was a SOCOM equivalent game on PC and 360 so others can get a feel for the genre. Round based games are the most fun out there as it's not just mindless shooting with no care in the world. Wanting to stay alive just so you don't have to wait 5 minutes makes it pretty intense. :D

Not that any of it matters since the few tactical games out there are plagued with the average COD player now that rather focus on camping to get a good KDR. SOCOM 4 is amazing with a good team that communicates, but there are a lot of guys out there that rather sit in a bush and wait the entire round to get a few kills even if it means a loss or a draw. It basically makes objective modes pretty boring. I like the rounds where the campers are on the attacking side so they HAVE to come out or they lose. That's good stuff just waiting right outside their base just waiting for them to come out of their hiding spots...lol

It's not realistic, except for some of the shooting mechanics, but Shadowrun is very tactical. Round based, class based, elimination style with a lot of different strategies and roles that players can use and combine with their teammates. You have to change your strategy on the fly to adapt to what the other team is doing with their abilities and weapon choices. It's hard to get into, but rewarding if you give it time.

I was gonna say Operation Flashpoint, but I think the online is totally dead and the main game itself has a lot of problems. It sounds like you need to get a decent PC ( ~$500) and get ArMa 2 or Battlefield 2 with Project Reality.

OP, can you give a little bit more info about what kind of experience you're looking for? Multiplayer? Single player? Squad commands?
