Imma cheat and go a villain but this guy is fucking awsome in design and his fight was the best in the anime besides the fight with the alien cyclops :)

They are all stupid, that's the point. They are mocking the terrible generic hero designs found in so many animes that range from boring to offensive.

I really like Zombie Man and I'm glad he's getting some screen time. Guy is like Ban from Seven Deadly Sins meets the Punisher.

Also if we're gonna talk about how sketch SuperAlloy Darkshine is, get ready for this bizarre and gross future spoiler
guy's not even black? He's some Japanese dude who, in the process of getting super tough, became black. It's fucking weird. I don't know if Murata is going to change that in his version, but I doubt it.

Its not up to Murata, ONE still has creative control over the story for the most part. That includes the added chapter with Pri Pri Prisoner in prison and the character of Slicing Shemale.

theyre all spectacular but Metal Bat is definitely my favorite. i'd watch a Metal Bat show in a second. i wish they would've gotten Yusuke's voice actor for the dub.

Like I love ONE as a writer in a lot of ways, but like what the fuck dude? I know Japan is pretty terrible in a lot of ways but you'd think hope with some things he'd just know better?

Just be aware we still don't know all that much.
It was a single scene in a flashback which raises a lot of questions in of itself.

Oh man, how I love this dude. His arc in the manga could have well been a one shot for his own series and it is easily my favorite focus on a non-Saitama hero. He is so bad ass and reminds me so, so much of Yusuke Urameshi.

His S rank is way too low, to boot. Bat would wreck Genos in a 1v1. I can not freakin' wait for him to get the spotlight in the anime.

I haven't gone to any kind of con in a long time but I've done serious consideration as cosplaying as Metal Bat. I'd need to get back to working out a bit more to fill out my upper half but I can easily do the hair, the general look when I'm clean shaven and his costume is something I could probably sew over a weekend.

I'm by no mean's a professional, I just do it for fun but if you can get a following you can certainly get people or businesses that will want you to do cosplay for them though you'll need to be able to do stuff like sewing and costume building which isn't easy depending what you cosplay as. Metal Bat is a fairly simple cosplay idea compared to something like Iron Man or some other anime characters. As to the female heroes there are a couple but I don't think ONE writes many female characters as there aren't many in Mob Psycho 100 and most are just small side characters except for a villain or two.

I love metal bat's design and his character from the brief appearance in the anime.

Would we expect his miny arc to be covered in the next season?

I could see Bat's arc taking up 2 or so episodes if next season doesn't skip it. While I am not a huge fan of how he's designed in the anime, seeing his encounters animated would be a blast.

Yo, I just finished the last episode of the anime and Metal Bat was by far my favorite. You got me hyped!

It's really ONE's major blind spot. Even Mob Psycho 100 falls prey to this.

Tatsumaki is my favorite of the cast but of course I'd say that. She's the only real option I have (Fubuki is just... no, no thanks).

I've only seen the anime, but I always felt One Punch Man had pretty weak designs outside of all but the most important characters. They feel like they were just thrown together out of necessity rather than unique, evocative looks. It feels especially bland after seeing the quirky and imaginative character designs of something like My Hero Academia. Of course One Punch Man's top heroes are just background characters so it's not a huge detriment to the show or anything.

The bat dude is pretty ballin', though.

I love Metal Bat. His inspiration is obvious but he's so damn fun.

Like Qvoth said, the inspiration for his character comes from the delinquent Japanese tough guy/teen with a soft heart trope, usually with a pompadour hairstyle from the American 50s. My favorite example of this is from GTO.

Most directly? He reminds me of Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho and Josuke from Jojo.
