Cool combo slashers. I haven't got round to 5 yet so I can't comment on that. 3 was my favourite. Just a great, polished game. Dante was given a goofy attitude but that's what gives him his personality and his charm. I've not played DmC. I don't appreciate what they did to the character. He's a big part of the draw and in my opinion, they fucking wrecked him big time. Some will tell me that's stupid. I couldn't give a fuck. How about a new Mario game. Instead of the recognisable Mario you all grew up with and love, Mario now sports long blonde hair, he smokes and he swears. No, fuck off. It's horse shit. Trying to tell me Dante wasn't cool. Mate, fucking state of you:

DMC 3 is my favourite. Man that game oozed style. The gameplay, enemy design, art direction and the beautifully choreographed cutscenes were out of this world when I first played it. The bosses and the boss weapons were great too. It was a perfect game and I feel that no other DMC game has came even close to it. I wish they would keep everything exactly the same and just update the graphics and character models as they look dated now. I would pay a high price for that remaster.

Still haven't played DmC and I don't think I ever will. That initial reveal trailer was a major slap in the face.

For me personally, the reboot was a game I never asked for. Much of my dislike is rooted in the total overhaul of the story and characters. The dumbing down of the combat certainly didn't help either. Perhaps I should give the definitive edition a chance some day, but as it stands I am fine with replaying DMC 1, 3, 4 and 5.

It's Capcom, they love to make ports and sequels. DMC5 is having great sales, so make sure that sooner or later they will make DMC6. And if they can without making it looking too ugly, they'd make a DMCV Switch downgraded port too.

Oh yeah, I can believe the game being enjoyable. It is a much better experience than DMC2 at the very least.

1st was ground breaking for the time.
We were all amazing with Onimusha at the day, but the store popped in the import demo from Japan of Dmc and it blew our minds

Obviously the combat was taken to another level in number 3 but the first was the first of its kind and amazing

Loved DMC on ps4... played the hd versions of 1 & 3 on 360... i like them for what they are but i really loved the craziness in DMC.

I actually did the alternative playthrough with the lass on DMC 2. It was actually alot more fun than Dantes and only 13 chapters.

Totally forgot about Trish being playable in DMC2. I think you need to complete both campaigns on hard for that. It is cool how she has more or less the same moveset as DMC1 dante.

Yes, DMC2 introduced the bloody palace. Another essential addition to the franchise. On what system are you playing these games? The DMC3 release on switch has added co-op for bloody palace, which looks like loads of fun. On PC there is probably already a mod for it.

With yellow you are revived from the last checkpoint when you use a yellow orb like in DMC1. If you die without gold orb, you restart from the last checkpoint. If you die without yellow orb, you restart the entire mission. Something along these lines.

I don't expect them to patch the PS4 and Xbone versions to support co-op, but who knows?

There is another character, but that one does not have its own storyline. You just get to replay the game with a different character, and you have some extra cutscenes. I think it is unlocked after you beat the game on any difficulty.

it's a great series although inconsistent, but also one of the few remaining pure exemples of its genre, maybe even the last one since bayo3 seems lost to time

dmc is a classic that shows its age but it's still brilliant
dmc 2 is garbage
dmc 3 is another classic
dmc 4 is good but has too many issues and didn't manage to improve the genre enough
dmc 5 is another great game, feels a bit less less inspired than 3 was, but in terms on 1v1 combat is currently the best the genre has to offer, in terms of crowd control and group fights, i still think the first bayo is better.
