When buying an HDTV, did you consider...

DaCocoBrova

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Light Gun games?

I'm glad I went w/ a CRT set for that reason (among others). I was playing Crisis Zone and Time Crisis 2 last night. Hands down, the series is one of the most satisfying PS2 gaming experiences you can have. Totally pulls you in if you let it.

I know there was a HDTV (LCD, DLP, Plasma etc. compatible) light gun being marketed, but never looked into its performance. I don't think I've seen it at retail either.

Also, the XBOX and GC sucked for not having enough/any light gun games. PS2 is king in that category. Is there anything on the horizon?

Yep, but I haven't bought any light gun games yet for. Really needs to be a gun that can be used on any display. Then Sega and Namco can release some gun game compliations to tear thru.

I have a RPTV CRT, 57 inch Hitachi, it's god's gift to gaming.

Light gun for HD displays is a nightmare - different resolutions, different display tech. That's one aspect of the Revolution that might work well. Not a light gun per se, but a sort of laser pointer.

There's got to be a way. Camera hook up or something... If there isn't then we won't see any gun games on these next gen consoles...

That can't happen.

I've been eyeing that web site for a couple years now... Still, nothing.

I don't see Sega, NAMCO etc. designing games around that peripheral either.

One can hope tho.

But they can release a very inexpensive (or pack in) handle/trigger attachment for it. It seems to me that if any system is going to be getting gun games, it will be Revolution.

This is GAF, we don't play videogames:

If we want to play Madden, we'll go out and play football.
If we want to play Nintendogs, we'll go buy a dog.
If we want to play a lightgun game, we'll go shoot someone.

The greatest thing about my 57" Toshiba H84 CRT projo is that my Philips CD-I gun works fine. Maddog McCree is in the building.
