I was just perusing ebgames.com and I saw that it has a date of 1/4/05. Its probably just a placeholder date, so I don't really expect it on that date. Anyway, was it always scheduled for 2005?

it was alwasy scheduled for 'winter 2005' as far as I've seen. but that could be considered anytime between november 2004 to feb 2005.
