When will xbox do VR support?

Why would you want to watch VR games on twitch lol, why does twitch matter in this case.

Watching people play games in VR is more entertaing than mainstream gaming, there is no denying that VR gaming offers a more visceral, immersive experience. But the fall on vr game streaming is what you would expect to see when people tend to lose interest.

The Xbox OS isn't supposed to be that different from Windows 10. I don't get why they don't just get other PCVR headsets to work on console, and immediately have hundreds of 3rd party VR games. They wouldn't have to make a new headset or even develop any VR games if they didn't want to.
Not that simple. The devs would have to port the games to Xbox first for them to work, just like when they port PC games to the console.

If even Sony has stopped caring about it, it hasn't even announced a big game, I don't think Ms should care.
It will when they're ready to announce their next-generation headset itself. Which will be quite a while since the headset won't release until holidays 2022.

Damn is that for real? lol

That might be why so many big pubs are ignoring the VR space outside of pity offerings like RE4 (which admittedly looks incredible).

Was double checking, apparently that's the software sales number (589 million) so vs gaming software is probably still less than 1%.
(Not sure the exact portion of the 159 billion was hardware but even 20 million ps5/Xbox series and 20 million switch would still be less than 30 billion)

Some sites were saying 5 billion with hardware sales included for vr in 2020 with expectation of 6 for 2021 .

77 billion of that was mobile just for perspective. 6.26 billion was VR in 2020 WW. 26% increase over the previous year.

What investors care about is the upward tick, that's happening and undeniable every single year it goes up.

Rockstar just completely flipped their stance in a year. Just last year they said VR wasn't worth it, now they're onboard and the CEO has hinted more than just GTA 3 VR is in the pipeline. Ubisoft is on board now too with a Splinter Cell and Assassins Creed game.

I think the elephant in the room is good VR devices like the Quest 2 is a brand new trend. We've seen no hard data from 2021 the best year in VR's history. We could be looking at 2x or more over 2020

The only gaming metric Phil and Satya are bonused on is game pass subscriptions. The also see clouds as a way to get on more platforms. I'm not saying they won't have interest in VR at some point or partnering with a hardware manufacturer but it's a worse investment to move game pass than simply buying content. Maybe the get game pass on Steam in exchange for Valve Index on XBox.

Who knows. They seem to have burnt by decades and billions invested in Kinect.

Yeah and I just think MS needs to continue to do what they're doing before jumping into VR. It makes no sense for them trying to rebuild the brand after the Xbox one generation.

Since they own bethesda, shouldnt this be the best time to do VR support.

Oculus did 10m sales. There is clear demand for it.
Not anytime soon. There's no reason to jump in when it's so far away from being a mature technology. Maybe in 3-5 years they'll just buy someone like Pimax, but that's probably the earliest.

VR doesn't translate to "watching it" on a 2d twitch video. The only way it works is inside the headset.
