Don't think this was confirmed earlier, but this is from the latest trailer of the game.

This is the most aggresive console marketing recently from sony, console was banned in china previously.
There will be shift in the market here. Console market is going to be larger compared to few years ago at least.
Yeah dude. This will be the game that makes Chinese gamers care about consoles. Not Wukong. If 20% of worldwide sales were on ps5 for BMW, what do you think the sales split was in China? 95/5?
20% in a new market is better than nothing .
You need to move on

As far as I remember, they didn't publish the final figures. But in February of this year, the figure was 5 million, and that's just the PS5 version.
We have some games here that can't sell that much when released on multiple platforms...

After Wukong, this was expected, Sony will most likely fight for Chinese exclusives, as this helps them to promote console sales in China region. Plus, as we see, the quality of games from China is growing, so it is worth fighting for them. Chinese market, it is such a tasty and huge piece.
So? Since when is 5,000,000 copies sold (it's probably more now, since time has passed, plus they lowered the price for it for the first time) considered a bad indicator? That article is based on the tweet I linked lol. 20% of 25 million is 5 million.
Don't grumble old man, let me hug you, everything will be fineFight for exclusives against.......?

Sony has a project called Hero, they invested in studios and projects in China, and they continue to do so to this day. And if we take into account the number of projects and studios that are in this project, huge amounts of money have been invested there. They clearly have interests in this market, and no one has managed to enter it normally yet.lol....don't affect me a bit, but I just don't get why this is even necessary at this point. Sony afraid the Xbox resurgence is going to be based out of Hong Kong?

That 20% is worldwide. I wont knock Sony for trying to make inroads because China is now an enormous market but the customer acquisition costs are going to be insane. Juice is probably not worth the squeeze at this point

Well, no one argues with that. Issue is that you can't just go to new market (which is also constantly moderated and is effectively closed to everyone) and immediately expect 20,000,000 copies sold. You always have to start somewhere, and what Wukong achieved in the Chinese market is an absolutely phenomenal result. They still have a lot of work to do.Yeah 5 million is a huge number. But again that is the worldwide sales split. What was it in China? Console gaming is simply not popular in Asia besides Nintendo in Japan.
Bro consoles were literally banned in China until only a few years ago nowYeah 5 million is a huge number. But again that is the worldwide sales split. What was it in China? Console gaming is simply not popular in Asia besides Nintendo in Japan.
That's the view Xbox has had for most of the non-anglo global market since the beginning of time, and look at where that's got them.
If you've got other areas healthily ticking along to pick up the slack, you absolutely attempt to penetrate greenfield market opportunities, especially one with as much potential as China.
Yeah I won't knock it because of the upside, but PC and mobile are so entrenched. Couldn't sell consoles there until 2015. And their bizarre government policies are so unpredictable. Everything could stop on a dime and change overnight with any entertainment product over there.
yea, so? this is why they're trying to change that. You can't gain an audience without trying.Yeah 5 million is a huge number. But again that is the worldwide sales split. What was it in China? Console gaming is simply not popular in Asia besides Nintendo in Japan.
