Im kinda desperate for any advice. Im a new PC gamer and my PC is new as well. If I play any type of game and I exit, I still here the fans running and they dont kinda calm down. I can never ever shut it down properly after playing a game.I go to the windows menu and hit shut down, it proceeds to say shutting down but the screen goes black and the computer kinda is just in limbo. I always have to hold down the power button to end it. I cant restart, standby or shutdown. It always goes to a black screen and the fans still go. Now I tried the updating windows drivers, changed all the power settings I could and it still does it.

The computer shuts down just fine when I dont play a game, when I do....always have to force it. Could it be internal? I was thinking it could be USB related since I play Overwatch with a second keyboard, and steam games with a 360 controller powered by a USB.

Any suggestions or help is desperately needed

Sounds like your computer is cooling down. How long have you waited before forcing it to turn off?

How long are you waiting for the shutdown to actually shut down?

Hmm could be a possible BIOS setting or weird feature? What kind of Motherboard is it?

Have you tried leaving it alone after asking it to shut down? Did it eventually work? If so, how long did it take?

If you're using windows 10 make sure you have fast boot turned off.

What's the temp? It might be overheating while game's running, causing a bit of a lock up

Before shutting down go into task manager and check that the game and any battle.net/steam are closed.

It's possible you have a hung process preventing the shutdown. Well, that or ghosts like the other said.

Mine shuts down but it will randomly turn on by itself... Never figured out what causes it.

Install a new operating system like Linux or MacOS on a new partition, if the issues persist it’s a hardware fault if they don’t then the problem is Windows.
