:O I never noticed that about Ecrofirt's name before...duh!

And I'm kablooey, because...I have no idea. Picked this one at complete random, but it stuck because it seemed appropriately videogamey. :)

Based on Fort90, which is the name of my site (and originally the name of my comic strip in high school/college). Why not just go with Fort90? Cuz it was taken when I tried getting an AIM name, and I've always used the other spelling.

Can one of you fuckers who regularly do this explain why exactly it is you add the l to my name? Can you read? It's not there. There is no L in ECROFIRT.

Blackie

I just randomly thought Blackie was a good name. I think I first heard Blackie when I was a videogame drone and Seamus Blackie's name came up.

"Crystal" because I love the Final Fantasy series. "Gemini" because I'm a gemini. Made it up when I was like...twelve or something. Too lazy to come up with a new one. :D

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face

No shit, dudes. Is 'Ecrofart' really so hard to spell?

In all honesty I picked this name back when Medal of Honor : Allied Assault came out. I had been running under the name SilverFox on AIM before but I thought it sounded kind of dorky. Well it was. But at any rate, I wanted to keep the hold Color + Thing motiff going so I picked Red just cause it could bring to mind a number of things. Passion, anger, speed... lots of images.

I picked Mercury because it sounded cool. Thinking of how mercury was a dangerous chemical and such was really my main motivation.

The funny thing was that Red Mercury is actually a code word for some kind of secret Russian nuclear bomb. That and the alchemical definition of Mercury is pretty kick ass as well.

Mercury, called quicksilver by the ancients was used to make red mercuric oxide by heating the element in a solution of nitric acid. The reaction of quicksilver in nitric acid is striking as a thick red vapor hovers over the surface and bright red crystals precipitate to the bottom. Alchemists were convinced that mercury transcended both the solid and liquid states, both earth and heaven, both life and death.

Mercury is one of the seven metals of alchemy (gold, silver, mercury, copper, lead, iron & tin). The symbol for mercury could also be used to represent the planet of the same name in astrology. The metal is often also represented by a serpent or snake.

I've grown so attached to the name and the ideas behind it that I've been seriously considering getting a tattoo of it. See my avatar for an idea of what I am thinking of.

Just thought that it sounded cool ever since I came across it during my "mythology phase" during elementary and junior high school. :) It's entirely possible that I was mistaken in that belief, however. ;)

Martial Arts nickname (bugo) based on the Tengu who were believed to have taughtthe Samurai how to use their blades. Though I think I got it more for my secrecy.

3phemeral

3pheMeraL was just a change from Ephemeral -- I wanted a name that wouldn't have already been used, so I added the "3" to prevent that situation from happening. The other arbitrarily alternating caps were just to add some visual variety, because the regular 3phemeral seemed a little boring to me.

I chose ephemeral because it's a reflection of sense of self concerning how I see myself in conjunction with my emotional environment... as well as my difficulty in feeling socially accepted or belonging to something that recognizes me for what I really am, rather than small aspects of my personality. I've always had some difficulty with regards to my relationships with people and social networking... I never feel like I belong, even when I feel like I do and so in that respect, it's always fleeting and impermanent.

MiX is just a reference to my ethnic mix. [Filipino/Aztec/Samoan/Spanish]

I just like the idea behind robots of all kinds. Something about the idea of a lifeform created by man's intelligence with man's intelligence appeals to me.

I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff
When I found this forum, i wanted to give myself a game-related name. I am a huge MGS fan so I was trying to think of something from that and came up with psycho_snake

After numerous years of beta-testing my name in real life, I finally decided that it would be great as a forum nick. 18 years of beta tests can't be wrong!

Blatz

It's the name of a really crappy Punk band from the late 80s/early 90s. I don't like them at all. But once upon a time there was a split release from them with a band called Filth. So the release was called Filth & Blatz. That stuck w/ me & I've used it ever since (about '95). It's also an obscure beer from Canada. Never tried it though.

Red = part of my real name, one of my nicknames in real life.
Dolphin = code name for GameCube

I've been using this nickname since I started reading forums. I keep it to remind he how long I've been reading them!
