I'm talking about game sequels that improve so much almost making the first game irrelevant to play, to the point that some players might even prefer to skip the first game and go directly to the superior sequel.
Here's some examples:
Mega Man 1 < Mega Man 2
Probably one of the most obvious examples in all of gaming, almost the entire Mega Man community agrees that Mega Man 2 is one of the best if not the best in the series and on contrast Mega Man 1 is seen as one of the worst if not the worst.
Rogue Legacy 1 < Rogue Legacy 2
One of many examples amongst Indie games of this phenomenon, Rogue Legacy 2 is so vastly superior in pretty much every aspect compared to the first game that I honestly don't see why anyone would ever go back to the first game.
