Why was Dragona de-modded, and why'd she leave?

It seems that there are two different stories being told in the topic.

1. She was de-modded after one-too-many mass bannings in the sexist bullshit topics. Every few months for a while there would be a new story posted about a woman driver (something like this) and it would get real tasteless, real quick. 2 pages in and around 3/4ths of the posters would be banned. Alot (really, most) of those bannings are well deserved but sometimes she went a little overboard.

2. She asked to be de-modded and went into exile because she was tired of said sexist bullshit topics.

Also taking a look back at some older topics and I don't think anyone has mentioned johnny nighttrain (see some of his stupid shit here in a topic so old I can't remember which banned name that is) or Manabyte yet.

Looking at alot of the topics around the time when I joined just tells me that GAF has always been this catty, but now there are five times as many posts that are just gifs.

Meanwhile, reading one of these older threads reminds me, didn't Nintendosbooger have a pretty awesome moment leading to a ban or is my memory bad? I seem to remember him having a fallout with Dragona about female characters in games that got WAY out of hand.

Nintendosbooger and Docpan are like Universe 1 and Universe A in posting thread shitstorms.

Haha, I remember that. Some guy made a thread titled Check out these pictures of some nice "breasts" and all of the pictures in his OP were of baked chicken breasts. Very clever.

So I immediately started a thread titled Check out these pictures of nice "pussies" and I posted a bunch of pictures of vaginas that I found on google image search and got banned for a week.

This does not take away from the fact that Gaborn is a valued member of GAF who actually contributes a lot of cool stuff to the forum via his news.

I mean, of course, the rest of us could do the same, but it wouldn't be Gaborn News.

She was just so nice. Nicest moderator ever. She used to PM people and let them know in the nicest fashion if their avatar sizes were wrong or if someone hotlinked an image. She really worried that people might get banned for something stupid like that.

She created a thread just for the purpose of fixing people's avatars. She was cool peoples.

Dragona too. She rocked the house in the Demon's Souls thread. Shame they're both gone.

Ummmm .... those stories on Dragona and Red Scarlet seem off. The story I was told was from a couple of mods themselves.

In a thread Dragona revealed the existence of a Mod thread where the mods talk about policy/bans and stuff. Basically every thread has them, but apparently you're not supposed to tell GAFfers or something, or she mentioned something from the mod thread to a GAFfer. One of the higherups got pissed and de-modded her. Dragona was pissed, stating that she was de-modded due to her quick trigger finger for bans. She decided to walk out, Red Scarlet found out and left also.

I wish Red Scarlet didn't leave. She always hung out in the MLB thread every postseason to talk and I found her commentary in the P3 thread funny. She was one of the fairest mods, and her presence will be missed.
