Which N64 games, if ported to the DS, would you buy?

In all honesty, absolutely none.

It's not that I'm against buying ports. Not at all. I just never liked many of the N64's games. The only one I can say for sure I really liked was Star Fox 64.

World Driver Championship

I always wanted it for the n64 but never bought it. Really great graphics by the look of it and got some good reviews. Im desperate for a good driving game just now, gcn & pc dont have any.

the best shooter.... forsaken DS

If you enjoyed Forsaken 64, you should really check out the PC version as well. The N64 game was chopped down from the PC version and was pretty much missing the proper single player mode.

Why the hell is every one listing Ocarina of Time? It's a great game, and one of my favourites, but it's already been re-released on the GameCube bonus disks!!! Plus the Master Quest (which kicks arse!) If it was done as a remake ala Mario 64 DS I MIGHT consider it though.

The only games I would want ported are those games that have terrible framerates and are hard to go back to on the N64.

Games like:

Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Beetle Adventure Racing
Mario Kart 64

Most of the games I'd rather play on my N64. I wouldn't mind seeing San Francisco Rush and Blast Corps actually. ARGH screw ports! NEW GAMES!

Ogre Battle 64 (never played it)
Majora's Mask ( best overall game on N64 IMO )

edit: I really liked the PC version of Forsaken back in the day...it kicked every other version's ass without even trying, too

Conker with mp:hunters fps controls for the over the shoulder mode.
Mario Tennis, but I'd rather a reworked mario tennis made for stylus play.

I'd buy the zelda's just to have them portable.

None. I'm not gonna pay $40 for a game I already own.

The whole point of a port is so that people who didn't play it the first time can play it now. No one's putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it again.

This thread makes me cry~

I wouldn't mind seeing some reworked versions of games that never came here (specifically Sin & Punishment or Shiren 2), but outside that I'd like mostly new games.

Sen, IIRC there is a Snowboard kids game comming for DS.

My picks are Conker, because i just love that game, and Starfox, because I think they could do really cool things with the touchscreen.

Other picks would be Fzero, waverace and legend of the Mystical Ninja 64

I wouldnt bother, portables have such tiny screens compared to TV's. 3D games work so much better on large displays.

Personally i think the DS should focus on new types of games with simple graphics,
this will make it clear that DS isnt the same kind of game machine as PSP.

Having n64 ports just makes the DS look weak next to the PSP.

Jesus guys, you all complain about how Nintendo only releases ports, and then you make a thread demanding them? It's like you all can never be happy!

The only game I want on the DS is Sin and Punishment, and that's only because it's never been released in the US. Everything else should be original to the system. I own these games on N64, I don't need more copies of them!

Actually, this is a large forum. SOME people complain about ports, and the OTHER people demand them. Having said that, I made this thread out of curiosity - I wanted to know how many people would actually buy N64 ports. A fair few, it would seem. GOes to show how influential some of the N64 games were to people.

I would love to see new games, as Goomba said - stuff that the DS was built for -new ways to play games (and I don't mean new ways to play old games).

Stuff like the Wanted! mini game from Mario DS is a crude example - a game that can't be done effectively using a normal console control scheme (though a mouse or similar is nearly as good). Nintendo have eliminated the need for a complicated interface - anyone can understand a pointer (i know people who had trouble with mice, let alone D-pads and analogue sticks). It'd be nice if we ever saw this kind of innovation. Let's hope innovation doesn't go the way of connectivity.

Just Blast Corps. Not that I don't like many other N64 games, but keep the ports to a minimum. Blast Corps deserves much more recognition and I'd adore a remake/update/sequel so that's my choice.

This Pokemon Puzzle game, sorry I dunno its name.
That was Pokemon Puzzle League.

I wouldn't mind seeing Blast Corps brought over to the DS, and as much as I would like them to release Star Fox 64 on a GC disc for pre-ordering Star Fox Assault; it will never happen so a DS port with the SM 64 treatment would suffice.
Of course, Sin and Punishment needs to come out as well. There are no two ways about it, they brought it to the iQue, why the hell shouldn't they bring it to the DS.

-Beetle Adventure Racing
-Sin & Punishment
-Wave Race 64
-Resident Evil 2
-Killer Instinct Gold
-Conker's Bad Fur Day
-Goldeneye
-Perfect Dark
-Super Smash Bros.
-Mario Tennis
-Zelda OOT
-Zelda Majora's Mask

But I would definitely prefer to see new games over just ports, or ports of these games with a LOT of new content.

I would say Castlevania 64, but what we're getting already is so much better than that game ever was. :D

Turok Rage Wars was made just for multiplayer, so there was a smoother experience when doing splitscreen play compared to Turok 2 from what I remember.

Sin and Punishment, just for all you guys who are too cheap just to buy it off Ebay... I saw it with a Buy It Now for $40.00... I got mine for $50.00 and it was worth every penny.

Also I'd like to see some multiplayer games that make use of the wireless features. Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, Dr. Mario 64, and Smash would all be good. Actually I'd prefer an all new Smash, I'm like that.

I would buy Majora's Mask again if they expanded the bombers Notebook and added a few more puzzle areas that would make use of the DS's features (maybe in a dungeon or two). Upping the frame rate wouldn't hurt either.
