Which next gen systems will you be getting?

at launch

Xbox 360 and Rev. once a good lineup of games arrive....

I'll probably pick up a PS3 right away, and maybe a Revolution too at launch, depending on what's available from the get go. Don't quite know about the 360 yet, but I'll see soon enough I guess.

At launch I will probably get a PS3 and a Revolution. The Rev depends on if the controller isn't too wacky and isn't gyro crap that will be a pain in the ass. Do you hear me Nintendo? Downloadable back library is enough, don't go overboard. I will also be getting a Xbox 360 but I don't need that at launch. I can wait for a price drop on that since there is enough games coming out for the Gamecube and PS2 for the holidays to keep me happy. Shit, between all those games I wouldn't even have a chance to play the xbox 360.

PS3 at launch.

Wait and see if anything on X360 interests me.

May be a Revolution at launch, too.

BC is the deciding factor for me.

PS3 at launch. The HD movie player and BC sealed the deal otherwise I'd probably wait until there's a good number of must have games.

All 3. Already have my Xbox 360 paid off and ready to go!

PS3 I will probably get at launch...but I do want to see the launch lineup before I decide. Revolution I will get at launch (surprise surprise!). Right now I'm most excited for Xbox 360 since I know many of the games coming out and there's plenty to like.

I'm not planning on buying any of them for a good three years or so.

Just come to the conclusion that buying systems at launch is not a great idea...you're much better off waiting for both the lower prices and to see where the library leads over time. Plus I'm confident that the Cube and PS2 will have enough late life swan song high quality stuff to keep me laying them for a long time.

When all is said and done, I'll probably have a PS3 and a Revolution, just going by historical expectataions of Nintendo and Sony systems...but past performance is no guarantor of future resuts, and there definitely hasn't been enough information yet to convince me of a purchse....

Wow. It's reassuring we have one of these damn threads every week. So dull. You ever heard of originality?

right...

and to all you people only buying "one console" :lol :lol :lol

in a year or two you'll either be the biggest trolls on the forum or you'll break down and get another system.

ahhhh the beauty of GAF....

X360 - definate. Xbox Live / Marketplace / Customisation seals it. Sony are too vague with PS3.

PS3 - mmmhhhh. Hardware looks cool. But its going to be a premium price machine - either that or Sony will take a massive hit in regard to price-cutting.

I will get Xbox 360 at launch and PS3 few months after its launch.

revolution? :lol

Midway...I like the cut of your cloth! ;) 360 has a '6' in it's name. So did Commodore 64! Teh spirtual suxxesour! :D

Any gamer worth calling a gamer will have to own a x360 AND ps3, it's simple. Doesn't mean you have to get both at launch though.

I still haven't decided whether I will actually get any of the systems at launch. I might wait to a year elapses after the last launch, so probably sometime in 2007 I'll scrap together all the systems. I haven't decided if I'll do that, though... I just hate riding the wave, waiting to that essential build-up of must-have titles. Plus, ya know, money.

A mod could probably go through these "what next gen consoles are you buying?" threads, ban everyone who only lists one console, and come away with about a 75% success rate in getting rid of trolls.

I think many people can just genuinely not afford more than one console + the games that they must get to support it.

However, I must admit I was thinking with the few people saying "This will be my first gen with only one system"... "Mark this post. It is the birth of a fanboy."

I've decided to balk on my one console future and am going to the two console X360/PS3 route. X360 I'll get at launch. PS3 between launch and when Metal Gear Solid 4 or Dynasty Warriors 6 is out.

Revolution? I doubt it. My game philosophy in what I want in games and Nintendos philosophy in what they want to produce seem to clash at the moment. I may pick one up when its dirt cheap (79-99 bucks) to play relive some of the older days via downloads.

I think I'm sticking with the same combo

Sony's + Nintendo's + good PC

so its gonna be

REV
PS3
a new PC at the end of 2006-mid 2007

but yet, its too early to say

REV is a no brainer though

I don't buy that for one second. Any "gamer" will be happy with a large range of titles that don't necessarily have to score 9.0+ on GS. As such, there are a HUGE number of games that are available for any one platform to satisfy any person that has any sort of life outside of games. I mean, if you think about it, to get a second console at launch you're looking at $300 which is the cost of 6 games (5 according to next-gen rumours). Would you rather have another piece of hardware, or 6 more games?

I am 99.9% sure I will get PS3 and Rev., PS3 probably at first price drop (or when MGS4 hits, provided it comes along fairly soon) and Rev at launch, if Metroid, Zelda, or Mario is there along with it. I've been fairly disappointed with my XBox purchase this gen (not a troll) so I'm going to at the very least wait a while and see what 360 really brings to the table, although Kameo and Oblivion are quite tempting. There is a metric ton of games left from this gen that I still haven't invested time in, so there will hardly be a gaming drought in my life anytime soon.

360 - at launch
ps3 - at pricedrop, or maybe launch if there's a title i can't live without
revolution - depends mainly on smash brothers -- if its a true sequel, then yes, but if its some version thats mainly centered around gyroscopic controls or something, then no. i mean you never know. nintendo is definately a "wait and see".

You forgot Revolution.

Some nice double standards.

I'm hoping it delivers the Killzone video goodness. That's what I expect of next generation consoles. If not, the wait for a simple graphical update will easy to resist and I'll be enjoying my PS2 for a good long time.

It's going to be fun watching the "competition is gud" and corporate wankers justify the existence of three competing hardware sets while the perfomance of all of them reach for the same brass ring.

I also look forward to increased console longevity as performance increases. Affording developers more time to milk the hardware for all it's worth, and consumers with gobs of great games for a good long time.

One console, all games!

360 and PS3 at launch. Revolution maybe, if there is some killer must have title for it that isn't a tired old overused franchise.

PS3 and Rev at launch. Then later, on the back end of the gen, I'll buy a 360 and hit the highlights for cheap.

I'd like to say I'll skip the X360 and just have the PS3. I think I enjoy more of the Sony exclusives than MS ones, and the multiplatform games on PS3 will be at least as good as X360, if not better.

But MS will be launching possibly a year before Sony, and I don't know if the graphics whore in me can hold out that long.

I will not be importing from Japan this time due to online etc meaning no mods probably), so either a UK machine or a US import.
