I wish it was busier here, it's really not that busy. When I wake up there's little in the way of new topics or posts and there's a huge lack of game specific community topics. It's a shame as otherwise it's a great place. I saw somewhere that posts were on the increase which would be great if true.

I don't have an account on ERA and don't plan on getting one, but I just miss the old GAF before the split. sure there's issues but it's over all still a great place. right now both sites are not up to the standard of the old GAF. ERA has more content and more creatives, but at the same time the political correctness level is way too much for my taste. and on the other hand, the GAF we have right now is much more free and relaxed, but lacks the content that I like. not to mention that the politics section, which, after checking out just a few thread once, I just "nope" the hell out forever.

For an old fart like me, the pace of posts and new threads is actually quite well adjusted at the moment.
I hated it on oldGAF when I could not keep up with anything, cause hundreds of people I have never heard of had posted thousands of new posts while I was just taking a dump for five minutes.

I like both TBH. There's still plenty of decent folk on Resetera you just have to ignore the crazies.
It's funny to think that I would probably get banned on Era for saying I like both sites but it is what it is. I have no beef with either.

Honestly, you might get a warning or something. It's pretty millitant. I got a ban for being pro-ethnic minority of all things. (Which you'd think they would agree with). They misread the meaning in my post (which was pretty obvious anyway as a quick Google would have supported what I was saying) and the quick trigger finger gave me a permanent ban. Apparently I am a racist troll which couldnt be further from the truth. Repeated requests to discuss the matter like adults went completely ignored when it could have been cleared up easily. They don't care about their customers at all.

Having been on here a while longer, I can definitely say this place is superior.
Both sites a have large vocal minority that gets pretty annoying. The people over their whining about everything that doesn't cater to their small percentage of the population, dog piling people who aren't "woke" enough, the cancel culture BS etc. Here it's largely the opposite of that with all the "anti-SJW" stuff, the "go woke, go broke" crowd and some odd ball conspiracy theorist.
None of that stuff bothers me really as any decent sized online community is going to have vocal minorities that are annoying as shit. That's what ignore user and hide thread features are for. I can use those and curate an experience of people who mostly just want to talk games, other hobbies and random shit and not make everything about politics or the current hot topic social issues.
The difference is the moderation. Over there someone like me who's pretty far left still has to walk on egg shells for fear of getting banned for not being extreme enough in those views. The vocal minority on this side may lean the other way, but the moderation is neutral and no one is getting banned for posting stuff that's "too woke" or "not woke enough" as long as they're respectful about it. Worst that happens is some people may get dogpiled a bit for loving something that's viewed as "woke," but the mods will handle anyone doing personal attacks and otherwise it's just easy to add to the ignore list to cut out the people wanting to bitch about politics/social justice/woke/not woke shit instead of just having fun chatting about our hobby.

I meant a while longer since my first post in the thread a couple weeks after joining up again. Or my first stint a while back as HanBrolo when I noped our and requested a ban after a week or so as the console warring was awful on the gaming side. I still lurked periodically and noticed the mods finally cracking down on console wars and decided to come back. I used the contact us link to try and get that account reopened, but never neard back so I just made a other account. Messaged again as I have a warning on this one for ties to HanBrolo and told them it was me and tnhe could merge of they wanted but that I don’t care either way.
That’s the only accounts I’ve had here. I lurked back before the split but never joined as I don't use my work e-mail for things like forums.
