But are you measuring best athletes on who can take the most punishment then? Cause in that case I think it's safe to say MMA wins this one easily.
And by the way playing with an injury doesn't automatically make you a great athlete imo...

Hockey players need the stamina of a soccer player
The strength of a football players to take a hit/give a hit
Some need to be able to take a punch and throw a punch.
You don't magically get good at skating, especially developing speed and stops.
it's not like running, where every single person who can walk should be able to run.
You need the skill to make the puck go into the net, while you are "gliding" with a stick, with other people able to hit you. Unlike soccer. Where if I touch you with the ball, I get carded.
